Chapter 2 - The Life of an Epidromèas part 2

I felt my blood boil as I talked into it. Golden light coursing through my muscles as blood turned to golden ichor.

While normally, I would be stronger and faster than any mortal and even most demigods. When I tapped into the blood, I became much much stronger. So when I dodged the fireball aimed at my face, the ground cracked from the immense force of my movement. Time almost seemed to slow.

Still tapping into the blood was a risky affair. Mortals, including demigods, could not easily handle the power of divinity. Still, it worked in bursts with no problems.

This time, I saw the second fireball coming and shifted my body on the balls of my feet just in time to see the fireball pass safely by me.

I turned in a single fluid motion, grabbed as many rocks as I could, and threw them in the direction the fireball had come from. The rocks moved fast enough that it sounded like arrows as the rocks hit the area. breaking trees and shattering parts of boulders.

From that same clearing an odd chattering sound could be heard. Like someone clicking their teeth but louder. 3 skeleton like creatures made from blacken scales emerged from the forest clawed hands outreach as if attempting to grab my flesh from a distance.

the first one charged me, I was able to dodge its charge, but It cut a deep gash into my cheek. I tried to punch the thing away, but even with my strength, the monster would not move.

It clawed into the sides of my waist. A deep biting pain filling my brain as it dug and dug into my flesh. "This is what a real fight is like!" I said with a deem almost savage smile.

I pulled out my spear even as the creature took another swipe, cutting through the bronze of my armor as easily as if it were melted better.

with a thrust, I hit it with the back of my spear, sending it back 3 feet as it landed before the thing could attack. I thrust the spear through the things head. The spear cracked through the skull with ease and in a practiced motion, I spun and through the slowly collapsing beast into the other skeletal monsters.

I channeled more blood into my veins, and with a single step I bridged the 5 feet distance with such speed I might as well have teliported as swiped the other two skeletons with the front end of my spear destroying them in a single attack.

However, I barely had time to dodge as another fireball came careening for my ahead but entered the path of spray of rocks hitting and digging into the parts of my flesh not covered by armor.

growling I charged, ready to kill the damn witch before she could get another attack on me. I saw her in her white toga, the material being kept from flapping by some unseen force despite the cold winds that had my hair swinging back and forth as if dancing with the wind.

As I prepared to strike the girl I saw her actual face. shit.

"Leos what do I do? it's a child" I said stopping mid thrust at the face of a young 12 year old child who looked at the blade with apprehension, fear, and confusion at the fact that said weapon was not currently thrust through her body.

"I can't hurt a child! It's not right."

"I'm fourteen."

"Your six." I decided for the girl, as leos made his way up to me and sighed. He took out a piece of paper with an image on it.

"Well, at least this time you didn't kill the person were soppossed to nab."

I looked at her and suddenly realized that it was a great thing that I had not used by blood when throwing those rocks for just about every reason.

but I say something very important.

"She's so adorable can we keep her? I just wanna tie her up with ribbons and dress her in the cutest dresses! she's soo adorable. I'm gonna die Leos, her cuteness will slay me!

"I hate you" The girl replied flatly having finally adjusted to the situation.

"Leos I'm her first hate! ohmygoditssoadorable."

"You just said you think I'm six. That makes no sense." The girl eyed my with a strange look that seemed to convey that I was not a sane person in her eyes. which I took offense too. no One in this world is as sane and well adjusted as me!

"Don't try to use logic on her. She doesn't have any." Leos replied to the smaller girl with an almost dead voice. Leos probably needed more wine.

"I got a charm against you see. Let's me add two plus two and get an olive."

the girl looked at me and tried to speak. Stopping to think. Then, I just looked up at me for a long while before responding.

"I don't know how to respond to that. So I'm just going to ignore it."

Technically, you just did, girl, I thought to myself with a smug smile. It was time for me to plant the flag and claim this shitty town for myself.

Only to find that the flag had been burned to cinders by the witch. I gave her a glare, which she returned in equal measure. Yeah no point asking her for he'll.

"Hey leos. You know you're my favorite friend. why I think of you everytime something good happens."

Ge snorted, "I'm your only friend. What do you need?" Good enough for me! and so without preamble, I tore a peace of his shirt and with pricking myself with a sharp rock I started attempting to draw a lion.

the end end result was a shityy flag with an image of what if you looked really hard enough might be able to see the heraldry of the lion. Still, it fits the village.

now I just had to go figure out who this girl was, As much as I relied on Leos I needed to start doing my own research. After all, once we got this village under control. it would be time.

time to kill a hyrda.
