After the session at the training ground, everyone went back to take shelter from the cold and have dinner. Malcom is the last one to came back. Nobody know what he was doing.
Everyone enjoyed dinner, then suddenly Oscar let out a cough grabbing the attention of everyone at the table.
"Ahem…. Boy, I won't beat around the bush anymore. I am the dean of the Twilight Academy. The matters of the academy are of my responsibilities. As of you are right now, you are better than the ones who already graduated. I won't stop you from deciding to attend the academy or not, it's because you deserve to go and not to go." Oscar tells Adrian that he needs to make a choice.
"If you don't want to go, you can immediately adjust yourself as the heir of the family and learn from that 'trash' on how your county works. If you do want to go, you will need to lower yourself to match everyone's standards. What's your choice?" Oscar laid down the options.
Adrian thinks long and hard. His weighing in the pros and cons for both options. With Aria, he can do anything and he do not need to attend the academy. If he attends, he needs to be cautious 24/7. That will be difficult.
[Advice. Master should attend the academy. More spells will be available at the academy. Master don't need to lower Master's standards to match the others. Master needs to prove Master is the best genius ever existed. ARIA will always be with Master.]
Adrian is surprise that Aria suddenly gave him an advice to attend the academy. Aria also states her confidence towards its creator. He looked at his parents looked at him expectantly and Marylyn looked down respecting her brother's decision even though she don't want him to leave.
"Mary?" Adrian directs his attention towards his little sister.
"Mary don't want to hold big brother back. But big brother must promise big brother will always be Mary's big brother." Marylyn made her stance. She had grown up a little after being dependent on Adrian while growing up.
"Of course, I will always be Mary's big brother." Adrian promised Marylyn. The adults at the table feels like their hearts are melting seeing the two siblings' interaction.
"You two are so cute." Erika cheers while putting both of her hands to her cheeks seeing the adorable scene.
"I promise little sister, I will protect you." Rosaria made a joking remark making Adrian's face red.
"Hahaha…" Amanda laughs seeing her sisters reacting to the drama of her children.
"Coughs… I will go. But I won't stoop to the level of others. I will stand above all of them." Adrian collects himself and tell them his decision.
Everyone on present heard is declaration. Even Ralph who just came in bringing deserts almost drop the tray hearing Adrian says the word "above all of them". He knew the young master's capabilities and felt pity to the kids and teachers who will handle Adrian.
"You!" Oscar sweats hearing his grandson declaration. He already gets a premonition that there will be a lot of trouble when this 'storm' arrives to the academy while Erika is frozen in shock.
"Hahaha… You can attend the academy, Adrian. It's compulsory to children of the kingdom to attend the academy for 3 years. You can choose to stay as a student for another 2 years to gain more credits under the academy's name, that is only a choice. If you don't want to, graduate after 3 years and help out your father." Gwen ensures Adrian not to worry too much of Oscar's matters and just attend the academy.
Erika snaps out of her daze after hearing a monstrous genius like Adrian will attend the academy.
"Should I take a leave? Or change my name? or should I play dumb if they ask my relationship with him? Urgh… My pride!" Erika formulates plans in her thoughts, either to escape reality then turns her head to Oscar. He is not doing any better.
Deserts are served and they all enjoyed the sweet treats except for 2 people who had their hands on their head thinking of plans to escape or take responsibility and control the upcoming chaos.
It's night time. Everyone in the mansion is getting ready to sleep through the night but Adrian is still singing for Cassiopeia.
"Strange, there isn't anyone sticking their ears to the doors today. Well, it's not like I did not appreciate the privacy. Still, something felt wrong." Adrian comments about the lack of presence in the halls today. He knew that the Black family will be returning home tomorrow morning but that is not enough to hold back the others.
*Knock, Knock, Knock*
Suddenly, knocks are heard from the doors. Adrian, Cassie and even Aria couldn't detect it. Adrian quickly open 'Map' to survey who was behind the door. It was someone who he expects to meet tomorrow not tonight.
"Adrian, do you have sometime? Grandma just want to have a talk with you." Grandma Gwen spoke in a polite tone.
"Ah… Yes. I'm free right now. A moment please." Adrian replied to Grandma Gwen behind the door. He asks Cassie to dissipate her visage, put the guitar and the chair back to its place and turn the lights on. Only then he proceeds to open the door, welcoming grandma Gwen.
"Please come in grandma Gwen. I was just thinking about talking to you tomorrow because I don't want to interrupt you packing and resting tonight." Adrian said while scratching the back of his head.
"Fufufu… Luckily, I also want to meet you and have a talk. Everyone in this family already knows you have a beautiful voice and can play an instrument while singing. You should be more open of your talents. I guarantee people around you will appreciate you." Grandma Gwen give Adrian some advice.
"I will keep that in mind. As of the me right now I'm not as good as you hoped for. I bought the music book 5 years ago but just recently I have the opportunity to put it in practice." Adrian replied to grandma Gwen with modesty.
"Ah…. Speaking of book…. That technique you use on Oscar earlier today, did you also buy the martial arts manual with the music book? Is it true it's from the same bookstore, like your father said?" Grandma Gwen suddenly throws a lot of questions to Adrian. This made Adrian a bit uncomfortable and grandma Gwen can also see that.
[Warning. Killing impulse detected.]
"Sigh… I'm so sorry for scaring you, Adrian. I already promise to protect both of you and your sister. I will not harm you. I promise." Grandma Gwen composes herself and apologize. She goes back to her original loving self. Adrian was shocked at first after hearing Aria's warning. After the warning disappeared, he breathes sighs of relief but didn't let his guard down.
"Ahem… As of the main question, the technique you use against Oscar, is it called 'Fist of Adam'?" Grandma Gwen asked a surprising question. Adrian eyes dilated hearing his grandma spoke about a specific martial art that relate to the Primordials.
Primordials are not actually known as 'primordials' to the people in the current era, only Adrian and Aria know about the Primordials. They are called 'Ancient Beings' by people of the current era. Ancient beings are the first generation after the Primordials. So, the current era believe that the ancient beings are the start of Etterra as the physical records about the Primordials are erased.
"How did you know it was 'Fist of Adam'?" Adrian asked back but he's hands are ready to summon Durandal if needs be.
"Don't need to be so guarded grandson. I can tell you the full story. I didn't even tell Oscar and the girls because there is no reason too. But for you, who can use 'Fist of Adam' perfectly, you are a different story. Is it that right?" Grandma Gwen heads to the windows and looks at the beautiful moonlit night while speaking to Adrian.
"Sigh… Okay." Adrian relaxed a bit and turn to his grandma so she can start the story.
"Have you heard about the Armitage Family?" Grandma Gwen starts the story with a question.
