Chapter 1 - The new heat.

As the days of the holiday kept going on, I couldn't help but notice how the weather kept on getting warmer. I could never figure out why the weather was getting so hot all of a sudden like that. It came to a point that people couldn't do normal tasks anymore.

It's normal that as the heat began to reach critical levels, the ground would start to break. No more concrete highways, no more streets, no more sidewalks, just tiny rocks that designated where people used to walk, and where the cars used to go.

But even weirder than the heat, were the little creatures that started to become more common as the ground broke.

Little bug like creatures that now are everywhere. I think it's important to point out how they are incredibly sturdy, probably in order to survive the heat that they produce. Oh yeah, these tiny creatures produce heat... a lot of it. And even more important, they just started to appear after the cracks, so they are probably what made the air hot and the ground break.

But that isn't what people fear. The bug sized ones have already stopped getting off the cracks, or rather, from between the rocks. But the air keeps getting hotter and hotter. People fear what else is below our ground.

If the little ones are all out (at least it seems so) what else could be making the air this much hotter, other than either more of these, or just one more, but a way bigger one? People fear that there is one more, the queen, but that is so much bigger it couldn't get in between cracks and rocks to get out, people fear that it would have to take the entire ground with them to come up.

I guess there isn't much to do, we just need to wait and see what their queen looks like. But considering how the little ones look and act, I think we would all be better off being cooked before that thing has the chance to make their grand entrance.
