Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The Ones Who Could Only Observe

The night dominated the starry sky, and the light from the full moon provided a soothing glow throughout Kegali's vast forest. Monsters such as wolves, bears, and boars could be heard howling from afar. The gentle wind was brushing through the leaves of massive trees and tall grasses, causing them to dance in time to nature's music.

This tranquil location was chosen by Eon when he was still learning to fly. The white tall stone he was using as a platform was still there, as was the lifeless body of a Fawn Camaradeer lying beside it. After a few moments of rustling, Eon emerged from a chamber hidden in the roots of a massive tree. It was nothing like the ones he had outside the Red Island; it was completely open and could be entered by anything, but it was preferable to having none at all for Eon.

To eat the meat he had caught earlier that day, Eon took the form of a Small Higante Boar, a muscular and circular brown boar with powerful tusks and teeth. Eon snorted as he pushed his massive frame toward his dinner, which was lying on the floor.

[Deceitful Shapeshifter: a new form has been acquired. The Fawn Camaradeer form is now available for use.]

[Deceitful Shapeshifter: The eliminated unit has a skill that can be imitated.]

[Low Kick.]

[Use the user's leg to launch a powerful kick that deals 145% (+45% per level) of the user's strength stats.]

[Do you want to learn Low Kick?]

Even after defeating several monsters, the best skill he had come across so far was the Peasant's Savage Bite. As a result, he refused to learn Low Kick.

Eon then concentrated his attention on the stat board that was floating in front of him. It was time to spend the skill points he'd earned by leveling up twice that day. He had four skill points available to him, which was the equivalent of two skill points per level.

[Lethal Augmentation has received four skill points.]

[The damage output of Lethal Augmentation has increased from level 5 (325%) to level 9 (505%).]

[The damage output of [Imitation] Savage Bite has increased from level 5 (325% of strength stats) to level 9 (505%).]

Eon snorted and bit into the body of his catch with his powerful teeth. It was the first time he had eaten meat since his arrival in this world, and he seemed to enjoy it. His spiral tails wagged in the air, his ears flapping. He realized that the meat of Fawn Camaradeer was far superior to the taste of algae. His chewing was audible as he raised his head and snorted, savoring the food he was eating.

In this new life, at least, he made a brilliant discovery.

Algae was no longer on the menu; instead, fruit and meat were.

Eon was so enthralled by his first taste of meat that he devoured the entire body of the Fawn Camaradeer in under an hour. And when he was finished, his already bloated body became even more bloated, until he collapsed inside his chamber with his feet in the air. He slept like a pig roasting on a stick, sticking his pink tongue out.

[Deceitful Shapeshifter has been activated.]

After only a few moments, his calm and low snoring could be heard, along with his pair of Slug gooey eyes protruding from his face. They were there to keep an eye out for any signs of danger that might approach; if any monster tried to attack, he would be aware and could prepare to fight back or flee.

It was a peaceful night, with the moon and countless stars watching over the young Eon. However, there were people watching over him in addition to the moon and the billions of stars in the endless sky.

Those people were watching his every move, fight, and victory from a place that defied the laws of space, time, and reality, inside a dark chamber. The white light shining through the center of the chamber served as a theater screen for everyone in the room to watch his journey.

There were a total of eight of them. Vaas the conqueror, who was peacefully watching his sleeping child with a gentle smile on his face, was like a god watching from above. His siblings, all six of them, were keeping a close eye on him. And Kialtare, who was the only one privileged enough to be there to witness Vaas' seventh and final child's journey.

They could be seen with no emotion on their faces as they watched each battle with bated breath, but cheered for their youngest sibling and child whenever he won.

The wrathful and eldest of them was usually the loudest; his raging scream was always the one that stood out in the crowd. When Eon was cornered by Peasants, he even tried to jump in to save his younger brother. However, Vaas, their father, kicked him out due to his noise and after nearly choking Kialtare to death while begging his father to let him go to Giera, which did not happen. He was allowed to return to watch a few hours later.

Each of them had completely different personalities as a result of how Vaas shaped them... But there was one thing they all had in common, and they expected Eon to have it once he returned... Each of them, like their father, was a successful conqueror.

Despite the fact that they all saw Eon as family and were eager for him to join them. Due to Vaas' order, they were not permitted to intervene; all they could do was observe.

They had witnessed every step of Eon's journey thus far, and they were eagerly watching him from a vantage point that Eon could not see. Eon was aware that they were keeping an eye on him because his father informed him before he was sent to Giera.

Eon recognized and believed he had only one family.

His conqueror father and siblings stood guard until he completed his mission... to bring this world under his control. He was still a long way from his goal, but they knew it was coming.

It had only been a matter of time... and they'd gladly stand by to see it through.

When the morning came, the area was filled with the sounds of birds singing a piece of soothing music to welcome the rising sun. The bright sun rays shone through the gaps in the leaves that covered the area.

The gentle wind blew, and Eon's upward-pointing legs twitched. His protruding tongue eventually returned to his mouth. As he stood up, his Slug gooey retractable eyes moved. He snorted and looked around. He stood up, lifting his heavy body. He began to march away from his shelter, jumping very low due to his massive body.

[Deceitful Shapeshifter has been activated.]

His wings spread and waved, propelling him through the air. He had the body of a Fledgling Sentrowl, the head of a Slug, mandibles, and a pair of tusks.

He growled as he soared to the sky to begin his new hunt.

Little did Eon know, countless annihilation raids had begun all over the island. The day of final judgment for those trapped on the island had arrived. And the executioners of the Peasant evolution line would finally appear to sweep everything within their domain.

His father and siblings, on the other hand, were watching over him from afar, smiling as they did.
