Larisa and Anne went to the dining room to have breakfast. The dining was empty as none of the Emperials were present, so they ate their meal in peaceful quietness as they chatted about random things, slowly fading Larisa's worries away.
The presence of death still lingered at the back of her mind, making her feel a bit uneasy, but she strengthened herself to push it away after so much war with her inner mind.
They ate to their fill and afterwards, went to the garden for some fresh air. The maze like garden was enormous and gorgeous with different beautiful and unknown flowers beautifying the place.
A large water fountain with a dragon head spitting out crystal clear water was positioned at the middle of the garden. They talked about the flowers while Larisa warned her about the flowers that were beautiful, yet poisonous.
"Beautiful and poisonous flowers, just like Lothaire, right?" Anne blurted out as Larisa warned her why she should never touch them.
Her words stuck deep into Larisa's head, she was right, Lothaire was truly beautiful but also very deadly, but still, she let his deadly petals touch her skin, his dangerous thorns pricked her, she took in his deadly scent and now, his poison engulfed her whole body, but it was a poison she didn't want a cure for.
She realised that the poisonous flower she had touched, had deadly consequences to it and she was now facing them, she was facing the consequences of being with a beautiful sin, one that fate had brought her to and the universe had mated her with.
"Sometimes I wonder, but I will never regret..." The words rolled off Larisa's lips like a whisper, barely a whisper as she stared at space endlessly. She was lost in her thoughts certainly.
Anne merely kept silence, watching her friend as she was drifted far in her own thoughts and tears stinger at the back of her blue eyes, threatening any minute to spill out.
Anne barely cried, or moreover, she never did, she couldn't remember the last time she cried, but seeing her friend in so much hurt and pain, made her heart weigh heavily in her chest, she would give anything to see her genuinely happy, to see her at peace again.
She felt Larisa didn't deserve whatever problems were being weighed on her slender shoulders, she was an Angel in human form with a heart of gold, so she wondered why life was being so unfair and cruel to her.
She didn't deserve to be hunted to death by an evil goddess of death. She couldn't blame Lothaire for it though since it wasn't his fault, fate had brought them together and bestowed upon them the the mating bond, but as a mere human, being with the devil's son came along with a great price to pay, a bloody one even.
At that moment of drifting in her own thought, Anne wondered if it was the reason Zion had been avoiding her. She wondered if he had seen how much pain and hurt that came along with the mating bond and he was only trying to prevent it from happening to the both of them.
She felt understanding, but still, she didn't want to let go just yet, she understood the prices that had to be paid for a bond so powerful, but she made her choice even with the prices to pay, she'd stay and fight for it, even though she knew she was being selfish, knowing she could leave him in torment, if she died.
If the universe had sealed their fates together and made them breed mates, then she wouldn't just give it up so easily, she'd fight for their bond and pay the prices that had to be paid. But plans don't go exactly the way you want them to, so what laid in store in the future for them, none of them would ever know.
The two girls stood in the maze like garden, lost deeply in their thoughts as they stood unmoving on the ground while the wind blew on them and the sun shone brightly above them, but they couldn't feel a thing as they were both out of the world, lost in their Ill starred thoughts.
The girls snapped out of their trance like state when they heard a loud animalistic growl behind them.
They whipped their head backward mechanically and their heart dropped to their stomach in petrification with large eyes widened in dread as their eyes narrowed to an abnormally large sized wolf, baring it's enormous fangs at them as it's moon like eyes shot them a blood curdling look.
The girls swallowed deeply in fear, horror striking them dumb as they stared at the ominous creature with wide eyes.
The wolf had black spiky like furs, it's moon like eyes held a menacing look to it as it growled lowly and dangerously, with slow daunting steps at them, it's black spiky tail wagged slowly behind it, like a predator about to attack it's prey.
Larisa noticed the wolf was similar to the ones that she had seen devour Gazelle in the past, but why did it seem like it was about to devour them? She thought inwardly in a horrified state.
She had seen how viciously the wolves had torn Gazelle apart with their large fangs. With it's large jaws, she was sure it could tear a person's arm apart with just one bite and she didn't want to be a victim, she didn't want it's teeth sinking into her flesh.
Larisa in a panicked state looked around for help, wondering who the moron was that unleashed the wolf to walk around freely when it could badly hurt someone or in their cases, murder them in cold blood.
"What do we do..." Anne's voice was low as she murmured under her breath, leaning slowly towards Larisa for her to hear.
With every slow step it took towards them, they took a slower step back as if their feet was too heavy to move, in fear that it would pounce on them if they moved too fast.
Their hearts skipped a beat when they saw the wolf set on it's feet, ready to pounce on them, with jaws wide open to take a bite. The wolf leapt up high, claws lunged at them, preparing to feast on the meal in front of it.
A loud scream erupted from both Larisa and Anne's mouth in dread as the wolf's movement was as fast as lightning and they were too petrified to move their bodies.
Hugging each other tightly, they continued screaming in horror at the top of their lungs, half hoping someone would rescue them, particularly Lothaire.
The ruthless creature was midair as it took a giant leap when at that moment, a large arm hit the creature away from them, making it hit the ground with immense force and a shallow crack appeared on the position where the creature lay in a weakened state.
The girls lower mouth hung open in a perplexed state with eyes widened in relief and confusion as they looked at their saviour.
"Were you guys both waiting to get eaten? Why didn't you move?" Zion scolded with creased brows as he looked at the shock stricken girls, unable to form words, obviously from fear.
"We..The..the wolf..it was.." Larisa stuttered with eyes blinking numerously, she was obviously shaken up.
"It's fine now, you guys should have moved though, Lothaire would have had my head if something had happened to you, he told me to watch you."
Larisa gave him a slightly perplexed look and he knew why. Normally, Lothaire would have told either Avian or Darius to watch her as they were both stronger, so it was a bit strange that he chose the weakest in the group she it concerned her safety.
"If you were watching, then I doubt the wolf would have been roaming freely." Anne blurted out as she rolled her eyes, she didn't like the fact that she almost got eaten by a wolf because of his carelessness.
Zion pressed his lips in straight line, refraining from exchanging any sort of words with her. She scoffed when she saw him ignore her and was about to say more she her eyes narrowed to a white blonde haired Angel like man coming their way.
His sapphire blue eyes stared straight into hers as he came to their view. He was ethereal and gorgeous in celestial ways but he didn't affect her one bit like Zion did, which made her theories even more liable that Zion was her breed mate.
"Hi Larisa, I haven't seen you in a while, I heard of your friend, nice to meet you the both of you." The sapphire blue eyed Angel spoke, Larisa had finally found her voice and she replied back.
"It's good to see you too."
"Hi." Anne said politely, it was obvious he was the Angel, like Larisa had described earlier.
Felix gave her a smile and Zion felt his blood boil as he saw Anne obviouslu flirting with Felix, aware that she was trying to make him feel jealous.
Anne was about to speak until her eyes narrowed to the wolf that had been lying still on the floor after it had been viciously slammed down by Zion starting to move.
"That was quite a hit Zion, it took a while for the wolf to heal." Felix stated out in a perplexed tone, even Zion was quite confused too, he didn't think his blow would have much effect on the wolf but it surprisingly weakened it to a great point.
They watched as the wolf started to change it's form. It's spiky furs slowly retracted into it's skin, it's claws disappeared along with it's fangs and it's limbs elongated as it's bones cracked until it finally changed form.
Felix and Zion had creased brows in displeasure as they stared at the naked man lying on the floor.
"He's not supposed to change, right?" They heard Felix state in a displeasured tone.
The girls eyes widened in wonderment as they stared at the wolf that had changed into a male human with mouth parted.
A werewolf!
