Lucifer knew Lothaire would take out the blazing sword out of his chest in time before the sorceress would come any closer to his breed mate, that was why he was so laid back about doing anything to rescue Larisa but he could hear the thoughts of someone, who had doubt that anyone would be able to save Larisa, as she thought the devil had tricked them all and she was determined to step in to save her life, even though he could hear her heart racing rapidly and she was obviously scared but either way it worked well with him, so he didn't mind her risking her life as a distraction to take out the sorceress, so long his plan worked out.
The sorceress was about to crawl towards Larisa in inhuman speed but she had barely started when someone charged towards her with a flash and stabbed her chest with a stake which surprised everyone, but she missed her heart and within a split second the sorceress hand squeezed her neck viciously as she glared at her with black dark eyes.
"You missed!" The sorceress hissed as her eyes darkened with evil and within the split of a second, she removed the stake from her body and she drove it into her chest with blood pouring out of it like a waterfall as she pierced the woman's heart with a stake, pulling it out viciously and she dropped on the floor, groaning in pain as she coughed out a good amount of blood. The sorceress averted her gaze to Larisa and charged towards her, ready to rip her heart out.
Lucifer didn't interfere as the sorceress drained the life out of the vampire that tried to save Larisa since it gave Lothaire the time he needed to take out the sword from his chest which was almost impossible to do, but then he wouldn't be surprised if he did. He wanted Lothaire to kill her himself since it was his fight in the first place, but if he didn't make it in time, then he would just have to kill her himself.
Larisa's mouth dropped open and her eyes widened in shock as she saw the sorceress drive the stake into Onyx's chest and she wanted to believe so badly that Onyx would survive from the wound but it was too critical for her to survive since the only way to kill a pure bred vampire was a stake through the heart, ripping off the head or burning of their body, so there was no way she could survive and no matter how much Larisa wanted to believe she would, she knew she wouldn't and her eyes stung with tears that dropped down her cheeks as she stared in horror at Onyx's body lying in a pool of her blood on the floor with the blood slowly soiling her beautiful light blue dress but her thoughts were suddenly distracted when the sorceress charged towards her and adrenaline rushed in her blood as the woman glared at her wickedly, lunging her sharp claws towards her chest to rip her heart out with a wicked smile on her face but her movement stopped midway with her black eyes wide open for a second and a shocked expression in her face, then Larisa saw the woman's upper body slowly separated from her tail with a neat strike, with Lothaire standing behind her with the blazing sword that was stuck in his chest seen in his hand and Lucifer wasn't surprised at the sight. Larisa watched in horror as the woman's dissected body dropped on the floor with blood pouring out of it continuously and her dissected tail dropped to the ground with a large thud as it turned into a black mist and slowly evaporated into thin air.
The sorceress tried to crawl her dissected body pathetically as she glowered viciously at Lucifer who tricked her.
"You tricked me you devil!!" The sorceress screamed as the blood poured out from her dissected area as she crawled weakly with her blood trailing behind her. Lothaire stood above her with the blazing sword in his hand.
"You should know the devil is one cunning bastard." Lothaire said as he smirked mischievously at her and she stopped crawling as she glared at him, she opened her mouth to spout her anger but it was interrupted by Lothaire as he brought the blazing sword down on her neck swiftly with her head rolling off as blood poured out of her neck. Adina and Larisa watched in shock as they realised it was all a part of the devil's game but one that cost Onyx's life.
Adina rushed towards Onyx who was barely alive as she knelt down beside her with tears threatening to fall out of her eyes. Even though she had despised how soft hearted and kind she was as an Emperial, it was impossible for her not to have grown attached to her and she did without even realising it as tears rolled down her cheeks. Larisa's heart pound heavily on her chest as she saw Adina crying beside Onyx and she immediately rushed towards her not sparing anyone a glance, even Lothaire as she saw he was alright. Tears rolled down her eyes as she slumped down beside Onyx to see her bloody chest and the life slowly fading from her ocean blue eyes as she breathed harshly and Larisa squeezed her hand as her chest and stomach tightened in pain, knowing that Onyx was going to die. Lothaire watched her with a pained expression not because he held any pity towards Onyx, but because Larisa had grown attached to her and she'd hurt a lot from her death.
Avian had almost healed completely as he laid on the floor but he got up anyway, ignoring the pain that came with it as he didn't need anyone to tell him what was happening. The smell of his breed mate's blood filled his nose and he could hear her rough breathing as he also felt the life drawing away from her body. He took quick steps towards his dying mate as he stared down at her with raspy breaths.
On seeing Avian, Adina took Larisa in her arm and pulled her gently away from Onyx to give Avian space with his breed mate which she effortlessly did because Larisa was weak in her knees as she sobbed heavily for Onyx like a little girl for her mother. Avian gulped hard as he dropped on his knees weakly beside Onyx and slowly took her into his arm with shaking hands. He knew she didn't have much time left as he stared at her beautiful blue eyes that had gone dull that once shone so brightly with life in it. He brushed her red hair with his fingers silently as they both stared at each other.
A drop of tear rolled down her cheeks from her blue eyes, knowing that she was going to leave him in eternal pain which broke her heart.
"I'm..sorry.." The words managed to roll off her lips but in a whisper which he caught every word of as she took her last breath with her blue eyes still open but she felt stiff in his arms and there was no sign of life in her anymore. His whole body shook uncontrollably as he clenched his jaws and closed his eyes tightly, it felt as though at that moment, a thousand daggers had pierced his heart viciously. His lips quivered uncontrollably and his chest tightened in pain as if it would explode in any moment. He knew this was just the beginning of his torment and it would get worse with every passing second without her. He closed her eyelids shut with shaking hands, his soul turned numb and his heart was engulfed with torment and eternal pain. He felt like he would go mad with the undescribable pain he felt on the inside but on the outside, it seemed as though he was lost and drowning into a space of nothingness as he stared at her for a long time with her in his hands, the pain wasn't visible in his face but only he knew the torture he was going through inside.
Larisa cried uncontrollably as Lothaire cuddled her to make her feel better but she didn't. He didn't care if everyone else had died so long his mate was safe but he knew Larisa would hurt a lot from Onyx's death so he tried his best to comfort her and his gaze averted to Avian who looked miserable in every way even if he wasn't showing it and for a split second, he thought that would have been him if Larisa had died and he tried to put himself in his shoes but he just couldn't because he would never let any harm come to her as long as he was alive.
"Lothaire do something please...You can heal her right?!" Larisa said with a choked voice as hot tears ran down her cheeks nonstop as she looked at him with sad eyes.
"I can't, she's already dead and even if she wasn't, I won't be able to heal her because it's critical and it only works in a certain limit." Lothaire explained and her sobbing got heavier as she looked at Onyx lying dead in the arm of Avian but she shook her head vigorously, unable to accept the fact that Onyx was dead. She could still vividly see her unique blue eyes shining down on her or her exquisite red hair which she always wanted to run her fingers through and her beautiful smile that always lingered on her face and she felt her heart weigh heavily on her. At that moment, it'd seem as if Onyx death had the greatest effect on her but truthfully, the pain she felt couldn't hold a candle to Avian's torment.
