Chapter 1 - Prologue

A dark star filled sky looming overhead, the dim light from above shedding it's pale light onto the land below. Standing atop a hill, a young woman looks' to the sky, If only I didn't have this duty. We could have lived our life in harmony. The people need our light, not just in the day, but deep into the night. Her sterling silver hair reflecting the very light of the stars around, her skin as smooth as Jade seemingly simmers in the light of the summer's night.

A young man, his hair a simmering blond, accented by a reddish hue. Almost the color of a sunset on the horizon, jolts' awake. The bed beside him as cold as the far north, "Where have you gone, my sweet luna." A long sigh fills the empty room, as he sees a small candle flicking. It's light cast onto a small letter. At a simple glance, the man knows who wrote it. Approaching it slowly, he collapses to the chair. In her writing a simple letter sits there, sending a chill through his body he leans over to read it. The beautiful handwriting blemished only by the tears that fell unto it.

My dear Solace,

Forgive me for leaving you all alone just when things seem to be going our way, no less. For I cannot forget the people, nor their happiness. There is no reason i can think for us to be the only two whom can enjoy each other's light. I must go somewhere far away, a place in which I may never return to you from. If only you look closely, you may see me as the days' go by. please refrain from following me. As that would bring great pain. I leave you with the knowledge that I may ever see you've light again, but I leave with joy in my heart that we may shed our hopeful light upon the people of this land and bring more happiness the what they've see before. After all sleeping through the stark darkness would be much easier with a gentle light from up above.

Your light for all Eternity,

Selene Lunaria\

Solace sits unmoved from the chair through the darkest part of his night, when suddenly a soft silver glow spreads through the window. Standing as he walks shakily to the window, he smiles his laughter following soon after. What was once lit dimly, was now brighter than ever before. Far off trees that seemed like looming darkness into the sky now shone in the glory of midnight's embrace. Children and family scamper about outside, their jubilant voices fill the night as they dance and celebrate. Solace watches on, slow tears streaking down his face as he falls to his knees. "I forgive you, Selene. How could I be angered after seeing how ecstatic they all are?"

But as it is required, the day and the night can never be eternal. Using the last of his time, he begin's brewing a potion. A potion which would make the drinker into an immortal. One filled with the essence of The Sun, and one filled with Lunar Energy. For their happiest days' may not have lasted, but the next two may be able to enjoy their lives in peace.

Or so the story goes.
