There I was in my white gown staring at the replica in the mirror as tears began to build up in my eyes. I tried to ignore the pain just for a little longer, but damn how much endurance does one person have?
   Â
This is not how I had pictured my wedding when I was younger. I pictured that a wedding would be a time of happiness and laughter.Â
Â
I thought of a beautiful dress, exquisite wedding decor, and a loving husband with whom I would vow to share the rest of my life. But instead, all of this was chosen for me down to my earring. Like, dude! Can't the universe give me a break? I guess not.Â
Could things get any worse?Â
They could. As she was about to think of some escape plan, someone came knocking on the door. Â
" Jae? Come on, your father, fiance, and his family is waiting outside for you. They want your opinion on the groom's tuxedo." said Issa in a worried tone.Â
What? I couldn't even decide what earrings I wanted to wear. Now I can decide what someone else wants. What were they up to?Â
Jae quickly changed her clothes and gathered her things as she made her way out of the changing booth. Issa accompanied her to where her father and the groom's family were. As she arrived at the lobby see her father staring at her with burning eyes but soon turned his anger to Issa and asked.Â
" How dare you keep me waiting? Do you know that I couldâ"Â
He got cut off by Jae putting up her hand gesturing to him, to stop speaking. She just blankly stared at him. The whole building went silent and all eyes were on them. Oh boy, what have I done?  Gathering the little courage she had left, she spoke.Â
"It was my fault, no need to scold Issa, she was only helping me," Jae spoke out, hoping that her father would just let it go. But the fact that she just blatantly disrespected him in front of the groom and his family. She knew he wouldn't let it go.Â
   Â
To her surprise, he just shrugged it off and headed toward the exit. Followed by the groom and his family. Both Issa and Jae let out a sigh of relief and headed toward the exit.Â

My father didn't speak to me much only when he had to discuss business with me. So, I guess you can say that we never really had a good father-daughter relationship. But when an opportunity presents itself I try to get to know him better but end up being disdained instead. At least I tried.Â
A few days later it was finally time for the annual dinner. Where the most successful businessmen and women meet to get a moment of celebration. And I have to go with my father since I will be the new owner of my father's company. Knowing my father he had bought something pricey for me to wear. Believe it or not, I'm not the type to dress all flashy, maybe something simple would be nice.Â
There I was heading to dinner, on the ride my father warned me to be on my best behavior, remembering the shenanigans I had caused, I just sat in silence. Looking out the windows, seeing the buildings in a blur. I close my eyes for a little bit thinking about how nice it would be to be in some comfortable clothes. Man, this dress is itchy. And no time we stopped in front of an extremely tall and luxurious building looking almost like a skyscraper.Â
