Looking at the lake that was no farther 3 steps away Attlure couldn't wait to awaken because he had heard stories from Serian about how after she awakened she had become gotten a dozen times stronger and had awakened a power called mana.
"How do I awaken Serian?" Attlure asked not wanting to wait any longer.
"You will have to go to the island at the center of the lake and go into the pool of green liquid located at its center but.."
Before letting Serien finish Attlure started to head towards the lake only to feel a gust of wind knock him down.
Knowing that this was Serians power he looked up at Serien and asked "Why did you do that?"
"You need to hear the rest of what I was saying or else you'll die." hearing this Attlure immediately paid full attention to Serians next words because Attlure knew that if he didn't listen it could very well be his death.
"As I was saying to cross the lake you have to be wary of the creature at the bottom because once it has you in its grasp it will drag you down to never be seen again. When you reach the small island you must not touch any of the purple flowers for they are poisonous and then you must go to the center where the pool of green liquid resides and submerge yourself where you will feel excruciating pain after the pain recedes you will become awakened that is if you can make it through the pain."
Hearing this Attlure was curious how he was supposed to cross that lake and not be spotted by the creature at the bottom.
"Serian how am I suppose to cross the lake and not get spotted by this creature?" Attlure asked
"I will not tell you because this is a trial that you must take alone and prove yourself worthy of awakening, like the many that have come done so before." Serian said in a dominating voice.
Seeing as this was something he had to do alone Attlure pondered what he needed to do while in his thoughts he grabbed a rock and threw it as far as he could into the lake only to see in the next few seconds something that sent chills down his spine and cause him to freeze in fear.
What he saw was what looked like a giant green tentacle reaching up and trying to grab something where the rock hit and after not finding anything it receded to the depths from which it came.
Attlure just stood and stared at the spot where the tentacle had just appeared for only a brief second. Then recollecting himself after a couple of seconds Attlure looked at where the tentacle went back to only to see nothing but the darkness down below in its depths.
"How am I suppose to survive that!"
"How would I know it is your trial after all." Serian said with what appeared to be a little smirk.
"Are you still up for the trials." Serian asked.
"Yes, I will awaken no matter what." Attlure said without a second of hesitation.
Attlure knew that no matter what if he wanted to survive strength meant everything. He didn't want to be a burden to Serian any longer. But most of all he didn't want to be powerless ever again.
