Chapter 12 - Great-grandmother like figure

Directly opposite the door of the room we stayed in was the door leading to the empty room my great-grandmother. Grandma used to sleep in, when she was alone at home. But because I was there, Grandma slept with me. actually my feet feel very heavy when I walk to the kitchen but on the other hand my throat is also thirsty.

Ting... Ting... Ting... a voice came from the kitchen

I stopped when I heard that sound, the sound was like a spoon and glass clashing like someone stirring tea. I paused before opening the kitchen door, straining my ears, making sure I didn't hear wrongly if there was a sound of someone stirring tea just now.

"Who's in the kitchen, huh? I don't think someone else has barged into grandma's house!" I muttered to myself.

Ting... Ting... Ting... The sound came again, I was scared but on the other hand I was also curious about who was making tea in the kitchen, afraid that an evil person had secretly entered the house and had bad intentions.

I slowly opened the kitchen door, before entering I peeked and looked to make sure there was someone or not. Maybe some of you can guess? Yes... Turns out there wasn't a single person there even the table surface looked very clean. There was no spilled tea, water, glasses, even a thermos and spoons were still lying neatly in their places.

"That's weird, maybe I heard wrong?" I muttered confused. But thankfully, that means no bad people broke into the house. After the condition was safe I immediately drank to my heart's content, almost finished two large glasses of water because I was so thirsty.

But before I left the glass from my mouth, out of the corner of my eye I saw a figure walking bent over through the kitchen door into the living room.

"Wh... Who was that?!" I said immediately put the glass on the table.

"Did I see wrong???" I immediately looked at that figure, a figure that looked very familiar and looked a lot like my great-grandmother who had died, from the way she walked, her hunched body, but right... great-grandmother, had died several years ago.

I immediately shuddered. How do I get back to the room, while I have to go through the kitchen door and great-grandmother's room again. Afraid, want to scream but afraid to shock the neighbors.

Finally after the figure disappeared from view, I immediately ran with my eyes closed into the room. "What's wrong Nimas?" asked the grandmother surprised, she woke up because when I got into bed, I accidentally stepped on her foot because of panic.

"Grandma... There is a great-grandmother." I replied in a trembling tone.

Grandma only furrowed her brows while giving a confused look. I forgot that grandma has hearing problems, so I finally got closer to her ear and then spoke so grandma could hear clearly.

"Grandma, there is a great-grandmother in the kitchen" I said still shaking.

"Is it true?" grandma gasped. I just nodded hard in answer to that question. "Come on, let's see together okay?"

"I don't want to, I'm afraid" I said almost crying.

But still grandma took my hand who was still silent, doubtful and afraid, but on the other hand, she was also curious. Was it true what I saw? Or just hallucinations? Grandma waited for my decision, wanted to come see or just wait in the room. Because I was also curious, I also agreed to her invitation to come look into the kitchen again.

I walked while hiding behind grandma hugging her hips. My eyes slightly closed looking towards the kitchen, but there was no one there.

"Are you sure you didn't see wrong?" asked granny after checking the kitchen, there was no one and on the table there was only the glass that I used when I drank earlier.

I shook my head indicating that I wasn't looking wrong and actually saw my great-grandmother walking through the kitchen door. Grandmother then rubbed my head gently. "It's okay now, don't be afraid. Maybe great-grandmother just wanted to visit her great-granddaughter. Now, let's join."

"Follow? Where else?"

Then my grandma took me into the empty room, I rebelled, I was afraid, but my grandma tried to convince me through a gentle smile.

Finally I gave up, obeyed but still hid behind my grandmother. We started to go into the room that used to be a great-grandmother's bed.

My body started to shiver and suddenly shivered. Grandma turned on the room light, a small yellow light that made my skin crawl even more. The atmosphere in the room was completely different.

Then grandma pulled my arm to stand next to her, after that she spoke and made me feel even worse.

"Mother... She is your beloved great-granddaughter Nimas. She said she saw you earlier, you don't want Nimas to be afraid right? She lives here now. Even if you want to visit, please don't show yourself."

Grandma said while looking around the room.

Grandmother may not be able to see spirits, but she is sure that great-grandmother's spirits must have heard her words. At that time I didn't see anyone in the room, it's just that I felt like someone was watching.

"Come on, let's go back to the room. It's too late, you should hurry up and sleep tomorrow you start school." grandma turned off the light again and closed the door to the room again.

Arriving at the room I rushed to sleep, still with my thoughts that remembered about the incident just now. I really clearly saw my great-grandmother walking with a bow. Of course I really recognized her, before I was brought to Jakarta we were very close. In fact, every time I ate I had to be fed by my great-grandmother before I wanted to eat.

But after grandma invited me into the room earlier, immediately my trembling and chills disappeared. Even the fear also faded away. Is this what is called a suggestion? I don't think so... After growing up I also understand, if "They" do understand what we say, it's just that they want or don't want it depending on their type, some are obedient, some are deliberately annoying.

But actually their goal of disturbing also has a reason, usually there is something they want to convey. But it seems that great-grandmother understood, she didn't want me to be scared, maybe when grandma said that, great-grandmother immediately left.
