After reading this, Kai crated a tiny fireball using a tiny amount of mana from within the Rank 0 Fireball spell. Over the past half a year, he had not only greatly improved on his speed of casting and the Spiritual energy required to cast the spells, but he also learned how to control the amount of mana used by each spell, being able to both limit its size and intensity, as well as overload it.
The latter option, however, would harm the rune structure itself, and if used multiple times in a row, he might even have his runes shatter! This was not a simple injury where he could just inscribe the rune again.
Having a rune shatter was the same as failing to inscribe a rune, with the least sever effect being him losing all his other runes and being unable to practice Magic. Therefore, it was best to only use overloading in the most desperate situations.
Kai did not return to his house, since he kept all his belongings within the necklace, with some items within the Bluestone Sect ring. The reason for this? It was because anyone who was Rank 2 or higher could access the Bluestone Sect ring and what he had kept inside at any time from within the sect, unlike the necklace which he had received from the cruel village chief.
How did he know this? Well, it all began a few months ago when the system released the sealed information to Kai, and he understood a lot of things. Due to this, he was able to rapidly get over the mental hurdle of having killed an entire village since everything here, other than himself, was just a game NPC with incredibly realistic AI.
Furthermore, he also understood that the original Bluestone Sect ring had many monitoring features. Immediately, he checked out his own, new bluestone Sect ring, and noticed that there were even more monitoring methods as compared to before.
After removing the parts where he checked out the ring, Kai returned to his regular routine, but just kept fewer and fewer important things within the Bluestone Sect ring, and kept more within the Ruby necklace.
He quickly made his way to the reception of the Battle Hall, and gave his name. After that, he was escorted to a room with 3 other disciples, each of them at Rank 0, just like Kai. One female disciple, and one male disciple seemed to be closer to each other; likely because they knew each other from before based on their behaviour, while the third disciple was singled out.
Noticing this, Kai thought for only a moment before approaching the singled out one and stood next to him.
"I am Kai." He purposefully left out Madam Aria's name here, since it was likely that he would be targeted by others if one of the people here told them of who she was in the sect. Therefore, it was best to act like as such.
"Robbin." The other disciple nodded amiably at Kai, before returning to silence. Kai personally preferred this silence, and did the same, while the male and female disciple continued whispering.
Soon, a Rank 1 Mage walked in, and spoke in a neither serval nor overbearing tone.
"Follow me, and keep quiet. Remember, kill anyone other than those in this room, and those from the disciples from the Hepis Dynasty Royal Magic Tower. As for how to identify them… you will know when we arrive. They will be the ones wearing the royal crest on their grey cloaks, and will try to order everyone around."
"Do not worry, you do not need to be ordered around by them. Just ignore them. If they attack you first, however, you have full authority to injure them and cripple them. Just do not kill them no matter what."
As he spoke, the Mage entered a teleportation circle, followed by the 4 Rank 0 disciples.
…
When their senses returned to them, the group from the Bluestone Sect had already arrived at their destination. However, they did not stop, and continued walking for about 5 minutes until they reached a location where a crowd of distinct groups had collected.
"These are the different sects and mage organisations within the Hepis Dynasty. Make sure you kill anyone you come across, or escape with your life intact. Remember, they are your enemies, and will not show mercy to you."
After those words, the Rank 1 mage let Kai and the rest walk forwards.
Kai followed behind everyone at the end, keeping his head slightly lowered while making sure to remember everyone's names.
A few minutes later, the last group arrived, and almost immediately Kai noticed the difference. It seemed as though they were so arrogant that everyone present was below them. Even the Rank 0 disciples acted like the Rank 1 Magi present from each organisation around them were nothing.
Kai also made sure to remember their faces as well, to be put under the avoid and do not kill list, while everyone else other than the three from the bluestone sect were on the avoid and kill list.
*Boom*
Suddenly, the ground shook as the area in front of them lifted into the air. Dust and soil falling over as a portion of the ground literally rose into the air and within just 5 seconds, it formed a cave entrance.
"This is the Dusk Realm. Only those below the age of 20 years and those below Rank 1 have the right to enter. Anyone else will not be allowed inside. You have 72 hrs inside before you are forced to leave."
A deep and majestic voice spoke from inside the cave, yet Kai felt as though the source was right next to both his ears, despite him knowing it was coming from the cave. Clearly, there was something up with this cave, but seeing everyone rush inside to enter, Kai sighed and followed through.
Whatever would happen now would happen. However, with the restriction of Rank 0, and his preparations, Kai felt everything should proceed smoothly for him at least.
