Yu continued to attempt a repeat of his fleeting success, but after failing another 3 time, he decided to call it a day and went to bed. Denice, Ben, Sarah, and Yu had to share a single room with bunk beds, just like before. However, this time, this bedroom was right next to the workstation room, so they did not have to travel across a large distance or any confusing corridors.
Yu went to bed at the bottom bunk of one of the beds. Since their sleep schedule was never fixed, and they could not feel the sun inside the tower, none of the four people fixed any beds. Most of them just slept on the closest available bed for a few hours before waking up, cleaning up after them, and then heading off to work.
Food was provided to them every 3 hours to maintain their health. Anything they did not eat was sent back and most likely just thrown out. After all, the food provided was just a few silver coins at best. To the Santok Mage Tower, it was nothing.
…
Back at the Bluestone Sect, Kai woke up after the 12 hours of sleep, and felt incredibly refreshed. This was not just because he had not had a good night's sleep for some time, but rather due to his increase in Spiritual Energy.
In just these short few hours, his Spiritual Energy had increased by 50%! If he took just 4 more of such potions, he should easily be able to reach Spiritual Energy comparable to a Rank 1 Mage.
Normally, a Mage would only need around 10% of this total amount to learn a Rank 0 spell, but Kai was not interested in just learning a Rank 0 spell. No! His plan… was to learn all the spells he could! And for this, based on the system's calculations, he would need as much spiritual Energy as a Rank 1 Mage.
As for learning all the Rank 1 spells… he would need about 1.5 times the Spiritual Energy required for someone to Reach Rank 2! And this astronomical figure would only keep rising with each Rank.
However, unlike other Magi who would have to spend all their lifespan to calculate the perfect spell structure for each Rank, Kai did not. He could just let the system perform the calculations on its own.
Instead, he could use this time to search for methods to increase his Spiritual Energy to reach the required levels. Although this would slow down his progression through the Ranks compared to even those who elected only a single spell for each Rank, Kai did not care much for that.
After all, if he actually succeeded in this plan, he would more or less be invincible in each Rank. After all, he had read in many of those novels and fantasy entertainment that the main character would often be thrown into area where the highest level of existence was limited, for varying reasons.
As such, if he were to ever encounter such a situation, he would easily be able to survive!
"Kai! You are finally out! Wait! Never mind! Let me come inside first!"
As soon as Kai stepped out of his door, he noticed Fatty Fred was waiting for him, profusely sweating, his voice incredibly high-pitched, and his eyes constantly darting around in every direction.
"-Alright…" Kai moved to the side, allowed Fred to enter, and closed the door behind him. As soon as he turned around, he noticed that Fred was already inside the training room and waiting for him to come inside and turn on the magic arrays.
Confused, Kai decided to follow and entered, before activating the magic array to prevent others from spying on them.
"Oh my god! Kai! The potion!"
"…What about it?"
"It got sold."
"Then that is a good thing… why do you look constipated? Perhaps you should try eating some Amalga Leaves… that might help." Kai said seriously, leaving Fred stunned.
"No! That is not the issue. The problem is that I could not find a similar potion on the market so I decided to put it up for auction to test the waters and find the price I should sell it at. The auction was not a very large one, just the regular one help every month. It should not have been too much of an issue."
"However! It turned out that they used the potion as the last item, and the main event for the auction, and it sold for 2 Mid-grade Mana crystals!"
'Mid-grade? System, search it up and transfer all data slowly'
Kai stood there, dazed for a few seconds as large amounts of data were pushed into his mind. Fred assumed this to be Kai's reaction to this news, so he patiently waited for Kai to recover.
A few moments later, Kai's gaze refocused and he nodded slightly.
"Good. Now, we can go and purchase a lot of materials. From the remaining change, you can subtract your cut of the profits. Let's go!"
Kai dragged a stunned Fred out of his house and to the Alchemy Hall, where he purchased 18 sets of materials for the [Deer-liver Potion], and 10 sets of materials for the [Merman Scale Potion]. The remaining 100 Mana crystals were given to Fred for his 'services'.
A Mid-Grade Crystal was worth 1000 normal Mana crystals, with it being worth a bit higher in most cases, since Mid-Grade Mana crystals could only be produced by Rank 2 Magi and above. Considering its greater versatility in its uses, Mid-Grade Mana Crystals could be exchanged for up to 1200 Mana crystals.
However, since Kai did not have the patience to go through countless people to find the best price, he directly exchanged it for 1000 crystals each at the Alchemy Hall, before making his purchases of Materials.
