"Boss! You should take a rest as well. We have all taken breaks while working. It has been almost 5 days since we all successfully memorised the Rune for Fireball. We have a whole month until we have to present a completed scroll." Ben said.
"Yeah Boss!" Denice added.
Sarah just looked at Yu with an empathetic expression for a while before turning her eyes back to her own work. She had seen Yu crying, which was something she never expected from him, seeing how cold and ruthless he had been to them when they first encountered each other.
'But then again, a child is still a child. He should have the right to express his emotions, at least this early on in life.' Sarah supported Kai's outburst with logic, ignoring the fact that she too was a child his age.
Yu nodded at what he could only assume was his own 'gang', before bowing slightly towards the disciple in grey robes who had been instructing them on how to create Magic scrolls using their Spiritual Energy.
The process in words seemed quite simple actually. All one had to do was to first completely memorise a spell. All basic Lv 0 spells were essentially just a single rune, so this part was not very difficult.
Next came the more difficult part. One had to construct a bunch of specific shapes around the rune which would allow it to absorb mana from the surroundings and when activated. This was a lot more complicated than the rune itself, with the rune for the spell being only the size your thumb, while the rest of the scroll was taken up by circles and squares inside each other and overlapping with others in a dizzying mess.
Ye, Kai was able to easily memorise this, and even the other three members of his group were also able to do so in a week.
Meanwhile they had also been increasing their Spiritual Energy throughout this time, to the point that Yu now had almost enough to fit two spells into his mind. Of course, he did not, because 'Yu did not know any spells since he had not access to them.'
Once they had memorised the runes used for Fireball, the disciple began to teach them how to inscribe it.
In fact, all one had to do was to use the Spiritual Tool which looked like an ink pen, but without any ink, and insert your Spiritual Energy into it while drawing the runes for the spell.
It seemed easy, yet this process was about twice as difficult as inscribing spells into your own mind, since it was not in a sealed space that is completely under your control. Of course, since it is not in your mind, failing also did not cause your mind to implode, so there was that!
Anyways, Kai had already failed 6 times, and he only had 4 more tries left. Taking everyone's advice to heart, Kai went to the 'bedroom' which all 4 of them shared, and decided to sleep for some time, the paper already neatly folded into his pocket, and the Spiritual Tool put away in his other pocket.
He was currently experiencing all the emotions Kai was, yet the way the two reacted was vastly different, and Yu could feel it.
Kai's mind felt weak and brittle, as though it could break at any moment. Compared to Kai, who seemed to be bottling up his emotions, Yu had already cried and let go of his feeling, having a clear head that Kai.
Unfortunately for him, Kai's negativity was still seeping into him, and he needed to find a solution to this if he wanted to continue his work and possibly actually succeed with the remaining 4 chances he had.
He began transmitting his thoughts directly to Kai, not in a method of communication, but rather to enforce a certain idea.

So, what if you are not human? So, what if everything is hopeless and everyone is dead? As long as you are alive, you can become stronger and take revenge. Once you become powerful enough that nothing can stand in your way, you can do whatever you want, make friends and family, and enjoy life without any worries!
Why care about the world around you if it does not care for you? Just let everything go, and focus on growing your power. Remember, once we are strong enough, nothing will be able to hurt us, and nothing will be able to take anything or anyone away from us.
NOW WAKE UP! YOU HAVE WORK TO DO!

Kai immediately opened his eyes and noticed that he was back in his room. It took him a moment to collect himself, and his eyes immediately grew sharp as he frantically looked around for anything suspicious.
But there was nothing.
A moment later, he recalled Yu's words but did not find them useful to him in any way.
Just because you tell someone to become better, he or she does not just become better… That is now how humans work.
Yet, Kai found a faint sense of assurance from what Yu had repeated to him quite a few times. It was, that no matter what, at least Yu, who was his literal other half, would always be there.
Kai stood up and got out of bed, walking towards his closet, which had the extra pair of clothes he had been given by the Bluestone Sect.
He removed the bloodied and torn grey robe and blue clothes, instead putting on the freshly ironed blue clothes and grey robes, and he left his room.
Before anything else, he wanted to get some food, however, he just ate some more of the rations he had prepared for the trip, which had not been contaminated by blood and sweat and rain, and headed straight for the Battle Hall's reception.
It was time for his rewards
