Chapter 1 - Prolog and Chapter 1

Prolog

It was a Silent Night. The wind blew through the houses and the lights gradually began to go out. Rose sat at our spot, her long hair was open, that was unusual.

"A nice night, isn't it? "She asked me. She turned to me and smiled a little sadly.

"Yes, the stars shine very brightly today." I sat down next to her and looked down at the street. It was empty and there were no more cars.

"You always came here when you were sad..."

I looked at her in surprise: "Where did that come from?" I thought about what to answer and then said a little laughing: "We've been friends for so long and yet I still can't figure out what you think."

Rose smiled a little and said, "Tomorrow is your birthday." I nodded and looked sadly into the distance. "How long has it been since they died?"

Chapter 1

The story I am telling starts today on Monday the 1st of August 2x36. It is the first day of school of the new year.

At the school gate of school xxx stood a relatively small girl. Snow-white hair and two different eye colors. The right green and the left blue. Both eyes dull towards the school entrance.

"A new school year, how boring."

My name is Kuro Akatsuki I am 15 years old and in 12th grade. I skipped the 6th and 8th grade, which is why, despite my age, I was already in high school. It was the first day of school for the new year, the teachers started to discuss everything organizational. The day dragged on for a long time, which is why I scribbled again out of boredom. My teacher noticed it and complained to me:

"Kuro! Are you doodling around in your notebook again? Repeat what I just said!"

I sighed once and closed my notebook, then I replied: "You said that, as the first topic this year, we will discuss the topic morals and values, then we will come to the issue of justice."

She was surprised that I noticed it and didn't know how to react to it, so I got a simple warning. I nodded and leaned into my chair with my arms crossed.

The bell rang and everyone quickly packed their things to get outside.

Our teacher quickly reminded us to bring our things, although almost everyone was already outside. Lost in thought, I put my things away. Suddenly, a voice spoke to me. "Hey Kuro, show me what you painted!" shouted Yuma through half the hall.

I was startled and looked at him then I answered: "Ah... that's just something scribbled. Yuma tore the pad out of my hand and looked at the picture. Then he took a deep breath and said in a calm voice: "Just scribbled?" he became loud and shouted euphorically "This is a work of art! Isn't it Cat?" He turned to Cat who was standing behind him and held out the picture to her.

"Wow! That turned out really well! Kuro, why don't you publish your pictures, you would definitely become famous!" Cat said enthusiastically.

I shook my head comfortably. Why make something exhausting when you want it to be fun? I want to enjoy my hobby and not force it.

Yuma is an old friend, I met him once on a playground. That was around when I was 6. Then he came with me to the 5th grade. He has black scrubby hair, grey-blue eyes, is very tall and as a bonus really muscular. I've known Cat even longer now, she is a friend from the 2nd grade. She has straw-blond long hair and bright blue eyes.

"Well, who wants to pay for something like that?" came from a voice further back.

Three girls came giggling towards us. One of them is Caroline the twin sister of Cathrin, she and Cat would be indistinguishable if their dress style were not so different. The others are basically two servants, one is called Hoshi, black hair and brown eyes, she has been with her since the 5th grade, the other is called Aiko, she has brown hair and eyes. She used to be a friend of mine who came to us in 7th grade and was teased by Caroline. But somehow she became one of her in the 9th grade.

"Do you need something Caroline?" I asked her as I turned to her.

"Oh nothing really, I'm just wondering why Yuma hangs out with a conceited little albino slut and a crazy cat!" replied Caroline bitingly, she giggled and thought that she could offend us.

But Cathrin asked her in a dry voice: "Well, you're just a bitch. Is that any better?"

She was aghast and looked angrily at Cat. Hoshi was angry and said that she should show more respect to her older sister.

Cathrin sighed and replied, "We are twins, if either of us should behave better, it is her. I only give her back what she gives me."

"That's not true at all!" contradicted Caroline.

I made myself up in front of Caroline and asked with a smile: "Do you know what I've always wondered?"

The girls looked at me questioningly.

"How did a person whose IQ is similar to that of a mentally disabled person make it into grade 12 in the first place? I mean, did you manage most classes just through your slaves? Or what was that like?"

Aiko screamed angrily what I am thinking of her.

I looked at Aiko and asked, "Why did you come here at all if you feel attacked now. You should have thought of that before you quarreled with us."

Caroline didn't know what to say anymore and just said: "... You are obnoxious! Let's go. And Yuma if you don't feel like hanging out with that bitch anymore you can come to us!"

After they left the hall, we started laughing.

"Wow! It's the first day of school and already there is such a stress with my sister?" asked Cathrin laughing.

"If you want Yuma, you can come to us!" I said and leaned down to Yuma.

"Huh? Gladly conceited albino bitch!" said Yuma and fell almost from the chair.

"I think sometimes we overdo it." I said a little laughing.

The two shrugged their shoulders and continued to laugh. When we had all calmed down from laughing, I asked them if they had noticed this White Knight in Germany.

"Yes, he is said to have saved a girl who was abused by her father." Cat said a little enthusiastically. It seemed as if she even thought it was good.

"The poor girl... He is said to have already saved more children who were abused," Yuma said.

"But he also killed the parents and I don't know if that's so justified," I replied thoughtfully.

"That's a tough question... Wasn't in Tokyo an attack as well? " Yuma asked.

I nodded and replied that no one has commented on it yet, at least that they have no information about the perpetrators yet.

Cat said worried that she hopes they don't come to us.

"Don't worry Cat, I don't think she'll come here, we don't live in any city," Yuma said encouragingly.

"Maybe... It would be quite unlikely, but it's not out of the question," I replied questionably.

"Don't scare me any more Kuro!" complained Cathrin worriedly.

I smiled at Cat with a bashful look.

Yuma tried to change the subject and asked if we would walk home together.

"Sure. Come, then we'll go, I have to be home earlier today. You can come with me," I replied.

Yuma looked quickly at me, his face pale "Today is your sister's birthday!" he said surprised.

"That's right! How old will she be again?" asked Cathrin.

"She's 9 now," I replied.

Cat regretted that she could not come with us today. Her grandmother from America is there so her family goes out to eat together. I was very euphoric to see Cat's grandfather again, he can cook incredibly well.

"Say a nice greeting from me to your grandparents. I really have to cook with your grandpa again!" I said invitingly.

She nodded and waved, but before she left the room, she told me to congratulate Yuki on her birthday.

"I have to cook or bake with her grandfather again!" I mumbled lost in thought as I walked to the door. Yuma followed me and asked with a grin, "Is that the only thing you can think about?"

"Well, I always have to cook. And the food from grandfather John is the best! My grandmother is always in Germany... Speaking of which! You can come with me, right?" I asked again for safety.

"Yes, but is that ok? I don't have a present for your sister and your mother didn't cook for me." He said uncertainly.

"Don't worry, there's enough, besides, it's just my sister, my mother and I. And as I know my mother, she prepared too much. Apart from that, we're having raclette, there is always enough anyway." I replied to which Yuma nodded and took his things.

We went into the courtyard and then out to the gate where a limousine stood. I stopped when I saw it.
