It's not prudent to release an album in November because that
project will immediately be tagged, if for example released in
November 2021, a 2021 project. However, it will receive very
little time in terms of rotation in 2021. A lot of platforms to push
your music have already been closed for year end, awards
submissions have already been closed, and the annual rundown
for chart shows is all but sealed. There is very little left to give
any lease of life to your late entry. That said, smash hit singles
are always welcome but even these need to get an extra push to
make a meaningful impact. Some singles may be accompanied
by eye catching videos (these videos may even be produced by
well-known videographers to give the YouTube algorithm reason
to highlight the upload). Some singles may have features that
make the project stand out. Fact: you need to push harder if you
are dropping a project this late in the year. My advice, if it's an
album – shelve it for next year, if you drop a single now you must
have the resources to push it hard on mainstream media
otherwise your efforts will be futile.
