Chapter 1
I woke very early in the morning In search for a new job. I told my best friend (martina) that I would be living the house very Early cos we were living together.
Martina:Good morning dear. how was your night?
Evelyn:( cleaning my body the towel) My night was fine and yours?
Martina:It's was fine.were are you going to this early morning?
Evelyn:Oooo I didn't tell you, am going to look for a job.
Martina:Wow,I wish you good luck bestie.
Evie: Thanks
Am fully dressed and I set out for work. I border a cab down to Teasan Assurance Company for my Interview and I finally got their.
I went to the reception and waited for my Interview. The receptionist welcomed me warmly and I ask me to be sitted. I called my friend and informed her that I was waiting for my Interview.
Martina: Bestie please don't be to nervous and make sure you answer all the questions correctly I wish you good luck.
Evie: Thanks bestie.
Martina:Bye.
Evie: See yaa.
Martina: Catch yaa.
Evie:Later.(I Hunged the phone then I went for the interview. I was interviewed and at last I got a new job as the Assistanc Chief Executive Officer. I was Introduced by the secretary to the CEO.
Olive:Good morning sir. this is your new Assistant Chief Executive Officer.
Evelyn:Good morning sir, My name is Evelyn lane am your new Assistant Chief Executive Officer.
Jeon: Good morning. And congratulations.(facing olive) Take her to her office and add her name to the E-mail. then tell her the do and don't of this company.
Olive:I will surely do that sir.
Olive then took me to my office and guided me on my work, she also told me the do's and don't of the company.
Evelyn: Thank you very much.
Olive: It's my pleasure.(she was about leaving then I called her back)
Evie:Can I please know your name and probably be friends?
Olive: yh for sure. my name is Olive Chris and you?
Evie:My name is Evelyn lane. Nice to meet you (drawing my hand to shake her)
Olive: Nice to meet you too.
she then left for her office
Back in Jeon's office
Jeon:(talking to himself) Wow she is such a beautiful lady. She can be my wife before any man snatch her from my hand.(chuckles and then continued with his work)
Back in my office
I settled down and did all the necessary documents on my desk then I submitted it to the CEO.
I then chatted my boyfriend up.
Evie:hey sweetie.
Romeo:watsup babe how are you doing.
Evie:Am doing perfectly well and you?
Romeo:How would I be okay since my babe can't even check me or even say hi ?
Evie:Okay fine don't be angry, I promise you that I would come and visit you I would even spend a weak there. Promise.
Romeo:Deal.
Evie:Deal. okay I'll see you later I got lot of things to do. see you later.
Romeo:Bye. lol
After the days work,I went home so tired and met my friend in the kitchen.
Martina:(from the kitchen) welcome home,how was work today.
Evie:(fell on the couch) It was damn stressful. Am so tired.
Martina:(Coming out from the kitchen and cleaning up her hands with the napkin) Sorry.(patting her back)
Evie:Is the food ready?
Martina: Almost,I just need you to go up stairs and freshen up then come back for dinner 🍽️.
Evie:(Struggling to stand up)
Martina:(pushing her)Go go go.
Evie:okay fine.
I went to my room to take my bath and came downstairs for my dinner. After dinner I went upstairs to continue with my office work and I slept off.
Next morning
Martina came to wake me up from my room.
Martina:Babe wake up,it's morning already.
Evie:(yarning and stretching) Good morning sweetie,how was your night?

Martina: My night 🌃 was fine. there is no time to talk now , you are late for work.
Evie:(Surprised 😯 to hear) What's the time?
Martina (Checking her wrist watch ⌚) It's 8:40am.
Evie:( jumped down from the bed) why didn't you wake me up.
Martina:I also woke up late.
I rushed to the bathroom to take my bath. After a few minutes I was done and I left the house 🏡.
Back in Teasan Assurance Company
Jeon phoned the secret next to his assistant and ask about her.
Olive: Good morning sir.
Jeon: Meet me in my office.
Olive: okay sir (Hunged the phone and went straight to his office). (knocked)
Jeon:Yes Come in
Olive (Came in) Good morning sir, you sent for me.
Jeon:(looked at her) Were is Miss Evelyn?
Olive:She is not yet around sir.
Jeon: wow 😲 (looked at the wall clock ⏰) that's sounds interesting. you can go now.
Olive:Okay sir (wanted to live then Jeon called her back)
Jeon: When she arrives tell her to see me in my office.
Olive: Okay sir (left).
I tried not to get late for work, but to no avail. I got to office late then my secretary approached me and said the CEO was looking for me. My heart started pounding and I was already scared 😨. I don't know what to say to say made me late. I summoned courage and went to his office.
Evie:(knocked the door 🚪).
Jeon:Come in.
Evie:(came inside) Good morning sir.
Jeon:Why were you late.
Evie:(scared) Am sorry sir.
Jeon:That was not my question I said why are you late.(Shouting).
Evie:(think 🤔) (You are dead today.ehat are you going to tell him). I overslept sir.
Jeon:Can you just hear your self, you overslept. Were are the documents I have you.
Evie:(holy moly, I forgot it at home, what am I going to tell him.)
Jeon: Didn't you here me I said we're the files?
Evie:I forgot it at home sir.
Jeon:(hitting his hands on his table) Are you insane? I told you yesterday that I would need that file 🗃️ today but you can't provide it.
Evie: I'm sorry sir.
Jeon: just get out of my office.
I apologized and went to my office.
3 weeks later, I planned to visit my boyfriend with a surprise visit. I took permission from work that I would not be around for a week. I left home early so as to avoid the traffic. Fortunately for me , I got to his house in a good time. I knocked his door , but there was no response. Then I decided to call his cell phone 📞📱. His phone number was switched off 📴. I looked for him but couldn't find him so I decided to go to his room to check hm there. Unfortunately I met him having fun with his ex.
Evie: Romeo!!!
Romeo:(Surprised 😯 to see me) Evie, what are you doing here?
Evie:So you were not expecting me or what. (facing lily) and you, Why are you here?
Lily:I suppose to be asking you, what are you doing in my boyfriend's house.
Evie:Wow, that's nice. he his now your's, I hand him over to you.(leaving)
Romeo:(dragged me back 🔙)
Evie:(slapped him) Don't touch me, don't you ever touch me, don't text me, don't you even come looking for me you bastard (left on annoyance)
Romeo:babe please, am so sorry, it is the work of the devil 👿. please forgive me.(crying 😭)
I rushed home in annoyance thinking of how Romeo will betray me, despite everything we shared together in common. I thought 💭 so deeply that I didn't know when I got home.
Cab driver: Madam, you've gotten to your destination (tapping me)
Evie:Ooo thanks.
I went straight to my house, knocked the door and my bestie was surprised 😯 to see me.
Martina: I thought you said you were not coming home until next week. Thanks goodness, I won't be the only sleeping 😴 alone.(feeling happy and noticed her bestie was moody) Evie, why aren't you happy 😁? did anything happen? Talk to me, you know am your bestie.
Evie:(Ignored her) Is the food ready?
Martina:Yes.
chapter 3
Evie: Please 🥺 am hungry, can you sever my food. Martina:Not until you tell me what happened, I will not give you anything.
Evie: Okay,no problem
Martin: Talk to me, please.
Evie:(explain everything to her)
Martina: You mean you saw him with his ex. I knew it, if I told you to stop dating that guy, to you wouldn't answer me now have you seen the end 🔚 results. I am even happy 😁 you saw it your self.
Evie:(crying 😭) I should have listened to you. martina, were do I start from were? with all the things I did for that guy, this is all he could do to pay me 🔙.
Martina:(wiping her tears😥) you don't have to blame yourself, all you need to do is to get over it and move on.
Evie:After all the guy doesn't like me again. I will get over it and move on.
Martina: That's my baby girl.. now go upstairs and freshen up then come back to have your lunch.
I stood up, went to have my bath 🛁🚿 and came back for my lunch.
