Chapter 6 - The First Room

"Take note of what they said. Lady Raven is much stricter than I am," Even eve reminded them.

"I hope my legs don't melt," Audrey whispered which earned a quiet laugh from Keith and an eye roll from Eve.

'She actually has a sense of humor,' Laigiel remarked on Eve.

When they entered the First Room, they found out that it was double the size of the Second Room. There were still six desks, like the format of the Second Room, but there were also small trees and plants inside. Also, instead of another door, there was an open gap between the walls that bridged it to another room.

"Good morning. I brought the new recruits," Eve said in a light voice. Her demeanor changed from a bossy one to a friendly one.

'She is friendly too. Is there some kind of magic in the First Room?'

"Oh, good morning! Chief is out," a very attractive came in from the gap and answered in a sweet tone. She looked very kind and gentle with her waist-lengthed green hair and eyes. There was something about her aura that calls for life. It was something that affected Laigiel and the rest.

'I want to be near her and touch her. I feel like I will be safe if I do that. Why?' Laigiel wondered. He felt the urge to come closer to the lady as if something deep within him is asking for it. It was a pure and gentle call that came from his purest self.

Laigiel felt relieved after looking around and seeing that it was not just him. He saw others holding themselves back the same way he is, especially Ashe who had a longing expression in her eyes.

"Lady Dawn, these are the new recruits," Eve said politely.

"You can drop it, Eve. Raven is also out," Dawn said with a bright smile.

A pure rush of life surged from within Laigiel. It was a feeling he could not explain. 'What is happening?'

"Ha," Ashe breathed loudly which attracted everyone's attention. She immediately bowed and apologized. Her face was red in embarrassment at what happened. 'Why can't I hold myself back?' she thought.

"Don't worry about it. All of you are doing better than I thought," Dawn said with another smile. Afterward, Eve introduced them to her and told Dawn about the training camp.

"Let me introduce myself to you as well. I am Dawn, you can just address me as such when Raven and the chief are not around. I am the sixth seat of the First Room. Do not hesitate to reach out to me through Eve if you need anything," Dawn said with an accommodating smile that immediately captivated the hearts of the seven.

'She is an absolute angel,' Laigiel thought in relief.

"So, Dawn, how do you want us to proceed?" Eve said with a worried smile.

"Hmm, I do not think that those five would be back for a while. When will the training camp begin?"

"Two months from now."

"Can you get Gale to get back in a week?"

"Sure."

"Great. I will awaken their Arcana for the week, then have Gale rigorously train them for the remainder of those two months."

"Thank you. Can I leave them to you?"

"Sure."

'Awaken our Arcana? But I have already awakened mine? In fact, I think all of us did already, that's like basic stuff for adventurers,' Laigiel thought.

"Dawn would take care of you. Try to savor this peace as much as you can," Eve said with a teasing smile.

The seven of them bowed towards Eve before turning back to Dawn.

"It seems like Eve has already scared you. Don't worry, she is a kind person. Now, you are probably wondering what awakening I am talking about. Obviously, you have already awakened your individual Arcanum, but I can awaken them even more. Evolve is probably a better word," Dawn explained.

'That's ridiculous! Just what kind of ability does she have?' Laigiel exclaimed in his head.

His fellows were also dumbfounded. They were looking at Dawn in disbelief.

"It's not a big deal. My ability is much more common than you think. There are probably three other people who can evolve an Arcanum. All of them are a part of The World Force."

'Not a big deal!? What?! What?!' Laigiel almost had a mental breakdown from what happened. He is slowly losing his composed self after entering The Keynote Journalists.

It was not just him, the other members were also shaking their heads in disbelief.

"An Arcanum is the manifestation of your power. It is the vessel from which Arcane flows. Each Arcanum gives an individual power unique to themselves, and my ability allows me to awaken another power from that Arcanum. It unleashes its full potential of it. It will not be easy for you, though. If your mentality breaks during the process, your Arcanum would be destroyed. So, I will only awaken those who are confident in what they can do."

'Awaken another ability? That's pretty much the same as having a second Arcanum, something completely unheard of! This is ridiculous! Even if the risk is 9 chances of death and one chance of life, I will still play!' Laigiel toughened himself.

It was not just him. All of them had determined expressions on their faces. This was an opportunity they could only dream of before.

'I finally have a way to bridge the gap between me and the other participants of the joint training. I don't want to be a supporting figure. I want power!' Laigiel thought.

"Good. I expected nothing less but complete determination from the Third Room. Sit in a straight line with your backs facing me and release your Arcanum."

The seven of them did as they were told and released their Arcana one by one. They were in awe when they saw each other's Arcanum. All of them had exceptional ones. Granted, some are weaker than others in terms of tier, but their potentials are all phenomenal. Even Dawn smiled in affirmation.

"This will be nice. Endure the pain well."

'The pain?!'
