Eva informed the school that she would take Avry home to atleast have something to eat and rest.
The school thought about and seeing as it was already so late, they allowed her take Avry since she stayed quite close to the school and had a respectable personality.
Eva got a cab and they both headed home. Atleast it was a Friday and there was no school the following day.
On their way, Eva bought some Chinese food since she wouldn't have the time to cook at home.
"Welcome to my home Avry" Eva said as she opened the door to her simple apartment.
It was a two bedroom house with a big enough kitchen, living room, library and some other rooms.
They entered the house and it was neat but sadly too quiet.
Avry looked around and she looked a bit confused for a while.
"Do you leave here alone Miss Eva"
Eva looked at Avry and wondered why she had asked that "Yeah, I lived here alone.....why do you ask"
Avry's eyes widened in surprise "Well I thought you'd would have a boyfriend considering how beautiful you are Miss Eva"
Eva was stunned silent and she blushed in embarrassment. Actually she shared this apartment with her friend Danielle Huggs but she had left the apartment because she had work to attend to.
Avry watched Eva and her eyes suddenly shone mysteriously "Don't worry Miss Eva, we can solve the problem of your loneliness"
'Loneliness.....am not lonely" Eva inwardly retorted but she couldn't help but think about it.
'I guess in some manner, things haven't been so exciting in my life as of recent but I wouldn't call it being lonely would I'
Eva looked at Avry suspiciously "Hey what did you mean by you can solve the problem, what do you plan on doing"
"Nothing Miss Eva" Avry said innocently.
Eva thought for a moment and shrugged it off. She set up the table for dinner.
She had bought some spicy fried noodles, rice balls and sushi.
"Come on Avry...let's have something to eat"
Avry and Eva sat down to eat and after that Eva took a shower and she helped Avry take a shower too.
Eva gave Avry some of the kids' clothes she had gotten from Danielle's room.
Danielle was a designer and she had left some kids clothes in her room, so Avry had something to wear.
Eva and Avry sat down to watch some TV while Eva continuously tried to contact Avry's caretaker.
'I've never seen such a careless caretaker in all my life' Eva wondered and she glanced at Avry who didn't at all seem worried whether they would come for her or not.
"Uhh...Avry, aren't you worried that no one may come for you" Eva asked.
Avry looked at Eva with a cute smile "My brother will come looking for me if it reaches nine and I haven't called him yet"
"Why's that" Eva asked.
"My brother isn't at home much so I don't get to see him but I always have a video call with him every night at nine"
"So if I don't call then he'll know that something is up"
Eva quietly checked her watch.
It was nine forty and no one had called about Avry Walker from the school yet.
Eva nodded in understanding and suddenly it came to her like a revelation. 'Oh my gawd, why didn't I think of this earlier.....Avry must know her brother's number so I could just call him'
Just when Avry was going to ask, she was interrupted.
Suddenly Eva heard a knock on her door and glanced at Avry who was watching cartoons slightly.
She got up and walked towards the door.
She peeked through the peep hole of her apartment door and saw a man.
He was completely shrouded in darkness and beside him stood another man.
Eva couldn't make out their faces at all since it was dark outside.
Eva picked up the baseball bat next to the door and slowly opened the door.
A chilling gush of cold wind immediately brushed against her skin.
Eva didn't know whether it was because of the cold rain outside or that indifferent cold stare that the man with the black investigator hat gave her.
And still Eva couldn't make out his face since he held his head low.
Eva glanced at the other man who stood their calmly like a faithful assistant. He was quite good looking.
"Who are you" Eva asked as her grip on the bat tightened.
The assistant like man smiled calmly but didn't answer her question "We're here for Miss Avry"
Eva looked at them suspiciously but suddenly Avry's soft but tired voice came from behind.
"Big brother.....you're here"
Eva glanced at the man whom the words had been directed to and she saw the man who had been holding his head low lift it up.
Since the light from the living room could now fall on his face, Eva saw him clearly.
Eva immediately froze in amazement and her heart had slowed but it beat hard as she looked at that ethereal face.
Avry had always spoken about her brother to her and always spoke of how handsome he is but now standing and looking at him Eva felt Avry had clearly under spoken.
This man was heaven defyingly handsome and she couldn't take her eyes off him.
He had a neat mop of platinum blonde hair that fell before his sharp sapphire blue eyes.
His face was perfect like it was made made by a godly artifier. His thin pale pink lips looked so luscious and his skin was a pale milky white colour.
His jawline was sharp and Eva instinctively felt like running her finger along it.
Eva was mesmerised by this man. Now that he was looking at her, Eva felt a heavy pressure on herself and her adrenaline kicked up as he stared at her coldly.
He was tall and his domineering aura made Eva feel like she was small as an ant.
Eva had seen alot of arrogant and proud men in her life but this man didn't even seem to be forcing it.
There was a touch of arrogance in his eyes but fierce determination and odd calmness lay there too.
He was dressed casually but those clothes seemed to make him sexier than all Greek gods.
Eva knew that at one glance, this man was a temptation straight out of hell.
