By my estimate, it had probably been a few days since I had been reincarnated. While trying to leave the 87th floor, I slept for about an hour at a time to reduce how vulnerable I would be, and ate the [Hydra Wolf] meat that I had been storing in my subspace. Counting the time I had spent here on the 86th floor, it would probably be around the fourth or fifth day that I was here? Attempting to measure time in this [Labyrinth] really wasn't going too well, and I guess it wouldn't help too much either. The main reason I was attempting to keep time was to make sure I ate regularly and rested at proper intervals to keep my strength up. Being constantly shrouded in low light could easily warp my sense of time, and if I didn't pay attention, I could potentially fall into a state of exhaustion and be extremely vulnerable.
Consulting my map, I noted that there were certain areas labelled as hotspots for monsters of different ranks. The chamber that I had earlier left was not labelled as containing the [Unbound Hellapes] that I escaped from, but a connecting corridor to that chamber led to the den of the [Unbound Hellape King (S)]. I felt shivers running down my spine as I considered the possibility of running into that level of monster while attempting to escape the [Unbound Hellapes]. Apparently, these [Unbound Hellapes] usually roamed individually around the area near the teleportation formation, but the activation of said formation drew them close when I left the 87th floor.
There were certain areas that had far more manageable monsters, though. Besides the area near the exit to the 87th floor being nigh overrun by [Unbound Hellapes], the areas closer to the exit to floor 85 had a good number of areas that were marked as containing C ranked monsters. With my current strength, I was sure that I could handle at least two or three C ranked monsters on my own without too much trouble. Facing a group, however, would probably spell my doom.
I have pretty insane damage output for my rank and level, I think. I'm just super squishy and can't take a hit. Man, what an unbalanced character. Which idiot did the stat allocations?? Ah, it was me, wasn't it...
A few more days passed as I made my way through the 86th floor, killing the monsters I could manage and furiously teleporting away from those that I couldn't. Finally, I arrived at one of the marked locations on the map which indicated that it was a hotspot for [Greater Arachnophobos (C)]. Basically, giant scary spiders. I selected this area in particular as these monsters seemed to be ambush predators, constantly fighting and preying on the similarly ranked [Hellape (C)], the smaller and unevolved versions of those [Unbound Hellapes]. I preferred not to risk the wrath of the [Unbound Hellape King] by killing off his minions, so I thought that killing off their opponents would probably be alright.
Furthermore, the fact that they were arachnids meant that they probably had pretty high defensive stats, but a smaller HP pool. I was okay with that. If I could hit them with a [Critical], the bonus damage from that plus my [Cull the Strong Lv.1] would probably be able to take them out relatively quickly.
Sure enough, I happened upon a small cluster of three [Greater Arachnopobos (C)]. The information that I had gotten stated that they usually hunted in small groups of 2-5 individuals, and often would create a web that blocked the whole corridor while staying out of sight. However, my [Sense] detected them, albeit faintly. It seemed that they had some kind of stealth skill that could evade a certain level of detection. Knowing where they were, however. I decided to cast [Identify].

Yosh...I can do this!
Psyching myself up, I cast {Subskill: Short Range Teleport} to move myself into the blindspot of the highest-levelled spider, right behind and on top of its head. I then instantly released 6 consecutive casts of [Spatial Slash] into the highlighted area for 6 critical hits. The other spiders reacted, but it was too late. With spurts of acidic blood, the head of the level 21 spider monster fell to the ground and I had already teleported again. Within 3 seconds, two monsters were dead. I had run out of casts for [Spatial Slash], but I was facing down the weakest spider monster of the bunch. Teleporting to keep my distance, I activated {Subskill: Spatial Severance} multiple times, and in a matter of seconds, it too had its head lopped off.
I feel like an assassin, pulling off these speed kills.

Oh?
Finally, it was time to select my occupation. It seemed that upon maxing out level 10, the option to select an occupation became available. The options I could select from were dependent on my titles. [High-Speed Killer (C)] unlocked the possibility of [Assassin], [Headstrong (C)] unlocked the possibility of [Berserker], [Giant Slayer (C)] unlocked the possibility of [Warrior], [Speed Slayer (D)] along with having 100 [AGI] unlocked the possibility of [Hunter], and apparently my [MAG] having reached 150 unlocked the possibility of [Mage].
Scrolling through the associated information, I began to understand the power of
Thinking about what I needed to get stronger, I decided that having a rich skill base would give me the best foundation. At this low level, stats could be mitigated with equipment, and skill growth rates would only start seriously mattering when I could have

All in all, both were extremely solid options. However, [Berserker] really wasn't my style or aesthetic. I didn't want to be a war demon girl charging into masses of enemies. I just wasn't such a battle junkie. [Assassin], however, was absolutely my style. Sneaking behind an enemy, pulling a "nothing personal, kid"? The chunnibyou in me screamed with delight. Furthermore, it complemented my stat spread and skills a lot better. I was currently a glass cannon. Instead of trying to shore up my defences somehow, why not spec into being even MORE of a glass cannon? With all of the skill buffs that I had, this
It was decided, then. I selected [Assassin].
