While I had no idea where I was in relation to the mapped out area of floor 87, all I had to do was move away from the source of the howl that I heard earlier. It would probably also help if I moved along the battlefront between the two monster races [Citrosian] and [Hydra Wolf]. My hypothesis was that if the [Floor Master] was towards the exit, the [Citrosian Queen] and [Hydra Wolf Overlord] would probably be towards the left and right sides of the exit, which being as far away from each other and the [Floor Master] as possible. In other words, by moving directly away from the direction of the howl, and along the battlefront, I should be heading directly towards the entrance to floor 87 - which meant that I could enter floor 86 from there.
Engaging all of my speed, I spread my [Sense] and flew as fast as I could, taking care not to enter areas that deviated from my path. After taking a lot of twists and turns while trying to keep in mind my position relative to where I had come from, I heard that familiar mechanical voice again.
-Conditions have been met.
I received this announcement thankfully, grateful that I would no longer have to burn so much brainpower in order to keep track of my position. In fact, I had been straining myself so much that my [Thought Acceleration] skill, which had been active ever since I got it, had levelled up to 2. To go on a bit of a tangent, I could never figure out what the dividing line was between skills that needed mana and skills that did not. While my combat skills certainly needed mana, none of my other skills ever seemed to need mana. Yet, I did not have enough of a sample size to understand the hidden classifications between skills that needed mana and those that did not. Perhaps it was only skills that exerted an effect on the external world that required mana, and only the skills that concerned myself had no mana consumption cost. And perhaps those skills relied on my mental resources instead. Truth be told, having slept for only about an hour or so and keeping so many skills active at the same time was definitely very mentally taxing, but it also seemed that simply being able to auto-regenerate mana was keeping me afloat.
This was very confusing. The only truly "toggle-able passive" skill I had was
Well, while it bears thinking about, for now my main goal is to leave this floor. Wait, isn't that...?
Flying up to a five-way fork in the road, I recognised this formation from the map that was given to me from the [World Handbook]. I smiled slightly, feeling like the hellish mental pressure being in such a dangerous area had eased up slightly. At this time, the mechanical voice rang out once again.
-Conditions have been met.

Hmm? Hmmm?? I was right, huh. There seems to be a hidden mental resource. I wonder if it can't be measured or it has already been quantified in some way with [WPR] and/or [WIS]? I seem to remember that my [Sense] and [Identify] skills had something to do with [WIS]...
{Skill Description: Sense objects and organisms in an area.
Skill Prerequisites: None.

Skill Prerequisites: None.

Ahhh...I missed this, huh. I thought I was pretty sure what they did and how, but I forgot to check these skills out properly. Oops, another mark on my black history for sure...
As it stood, it seemed that I could use [Identify] fully on a level 10 Rank D monster, person, or object. Did that mean I could fully [Identify] anything below Rank D? Well, that again would be a question for another time. Having chosen my path in the five-way fork in the road, I sped for the exit, feeling the first rush of freedom in my heart.
Unfortunately, it was doomed to be short-lived. My [Sense} pinged a singular existence in my path, and I could instantly tell that it was going to be either a [Citrosian] or a [Hydra Wolf] from the intensity of the ping. It was definitely not a monster that I could handle with my current strength, but perhaps I could wound it enough to escape...?
~Arooooo~
I stopped in front of the three-headed wolf, and cast [Identify].

While I couldn't read any further information, I was glad that my [Identify] was now able to read more than it had before, and even more than it had been able to when I was trying to look at the corpses. Thankfully, this [Hydra Wolf] seemed weaker than the corpse of the previous one, and based on how much HP it had, I was confident that I would at least be able to wound it a bit before trying to escape.
Immediately targeting all three of its necks, I unleashed {Subskill: Spatial Severance} to deal as much damage as I possibly could. While I could not cut through its necks, a torrent of blood gushed forth from its throats.
[HP: 299/480]
Wait...was that skill so strong?? Damn, but the mana consumption is no joke either...
Seeing the amount of damage I did, I widened my eyes in shock, not realising how much damage my skill was doing as I targeted three individual locations and cast the skill thrice, doing three times the damage I would have otherwise. However, this momentary lapse in my thoughts allowed the [Hydra Wolf] to counterattack. Each of its heads independently generated a different magical effect - one wind, one fire, one lightning, and launched them at me. Unable to turn on a dime due to the narrowness of the corridor, I was narrowly slashed on the arm by the [Wind Blade] before eating both the [Fire Bullet] and [Arc Lightning] head-on.
[HP: 130/250]
However, the [Hydra Wolf] wasn't done. It leapt in my direction, channeling a ball of lightning in its middle mouth while the other two mouths bit down hard on my arms, causing me to scream sharply as I slammed hard into the wall. In the next moment, the [Ball Lightning] slammed hard into my chest.
[HP: 16/250]
Crap...I should have just run away...am I...gonna...die here?
Blood sprayed in my face as the grip on my arms loosened. While in a haze of pain, I had been trying my hardest to activate both my offensive subskills on the necks of the two heads biting and hold me in place. In the moment after being hit by the [Ball Lightning], I managed to behead both of them, and won myself a sliver of a chance of survival. The [Hydra Wolf], now wary, stepped back and eyed me viciously.
[HP: 84/300]
Haaaa, haaa, hehe, you didn't think I was going to go down like this, did you? I still have so many more battles ahead of me to reach the surface of this damned labyrinth! A small fry like you isn't gonna stand in my way! I'm, gonna, get out, and live, my, BEST. DAMNED. LIFE!
I fired off a final spell and collapsed, the blood pouring from my arms sapping my strength too much to maintain my consciousness. In the last moments of haziness, I heard the mechanical voice ring out once again.
