Chapter 17
**Honeymoon III—Damn you!!**
Mario walks in with his boss's morning dose of coffee only to find her pacing back and forth, biting her nails with her hair disheveled by the window, one could say she looked like she was mentally ill. He pursed his lips as he dropped the cup on a shelf and tapped her on the shoulder, Liliana jolted as she turned around with rage written all over her face which he wasn't new to at all. Years of being by her side and he still didn't know the secret of how she still looked gorgeous when furious.
‘Are my things ready?'. Liliana asked.
‘Yes ma'am'. He replied.
‘Yours?',She asked again and he remained silent, ‘Mario I asked a question'.
He cleared his throat as he knew what was going to happen next the moment he opened his mouth, better to be prepared than sorry, ‘It's your honeymoon ma'am'.
She blinked in confusion as to the words that blurted out of his mouth, ‘So?'.
‘It's not right for me to come with you and....and your husband the prince has specially banned me from coming with you on the trip'. He finally dropped the bomb. Liliana snickered for a while as she took the coffee on the shelf, convincing herself how much of a jokester her personal assistant was when she knew fully well he was as serious as an owl.
Mario sighed deeply and opened his mouth to speak but closed it right back when she raised a finger to shut him up, he tried to speak again and she raised her finger...this time he couldn't stop himself, ‘Mrs Tegan i—'
‘He can't tell you what to do without my permission'.
‘But—'
‘I repeat', she cut him off in the most menacing way possible, ‘He can't tell you what to do without my permission Mario. Now pack your bags and let's go, my flight is in an hour and I need something to wear'.
He didn't move an inch nor did he budge, she was intimidating as hell but Prince Adonis was a way bigger threat than her, especially when his dear life was on the line. Liliana repeated her words and he shook his head stubbornly, taking his stance and not moving an inch.
‘Mario please....'.
‘I quit'.
‘What??'.
‘I quit being your assistant until you return'. He repeated and left the room without looking back. Liliana remained transfixed on the spot as she was dumbfounded beyond repair—in a matter of hours she was carried out of her room like a sack of beads, she slapped her husband, she was tempted in a sexual way and now she temporarily lost her assistant....all on a matter of hours.
*******
Something was very strange about her, Adonis noticed, she was silent all through the ride to the airport and she was still silent when they boarded the private jet, it was absolute music to his ears—not being able to hear the ear piercing sound of her voice but he could see the fire in her eyes....she had so much to say and he knew exactly why.
Liliana grabbed a two glasses of champagne form the plane staff, blatantly ignoring the presence of the man seated a few feet from her. She was too angry to talk, too mad too react, too furious to give him a hint of the murderous thoughts that wavered through her head, so she drowned her woes in the best way she knew how—drinking champagne.
The two glasses were drained and she ordered for the full bottle just as the plane took off much to the annoyance of Adonis, ‘You're going to get drunk dear wife, stop it'.
‘That's the point', She poured herself another glass, ’I want to get drunk so I don't have to consider the reality of being married to your miserable self.
‘So she's not dumb', he pointed out her now broken silence, ‘I'm relieved to know I'm not married to a special needs—'
‘What is your problem?'.She snapped, interrupting his words.
He shrugged lightly as he took the champagne bottle and poured himself a glass, ’It depends on what you want my problem to be. Our marriage, my father—you'.
‘Damn you Adonis'. She muttered under her breath.
‘Come again?'. He leaned closer to hear what she had to say.
It was taking a lot of strength and vigour, morality and her fear of going to jail also played a huge part. Any woman in her shoes would've committed murder, dammit she wanted to commit murder—she wanted to break the champagne bottle and shove each shard down his beautiful thick throat...she wanted to sew his kissable mouth shut with an iron needle, enjoying as he pleaded for her mercy—Hell, he was turning her into a psychopath and he didn't even know it.
Prince Adonis could see the frustrated lines under her eyes, she was even more beautiful as she was angry and he was just only starting—It was a game, a game he was clearly winning at this point. An hour passed and she was starting to doze off on the plane, he was also tired as he felt his sleep coming on, his eyes started to feel heavy and before he knew it he drifted into slumberland.
Liliana's eyes opened shortly and she turned to see him sleeping with his head turned to the side on the plane seat. Right now was the perfect time to strike—was she going to kill him? absolutely not even though the prospect was mildly enticing.
She got from her seat and gently crept towards his side, spitting into his half empty glass of champagne. He almost stirred awake and she panicked for a moment, her fears gradually went astray as he didn't open his eyes. She heaved a sigh of relief, placing her hands on her chest as she went back to her seat—sure he might've landed her a few blows, but her disgusting trick always prevailed at the end....it was what he deserved and more for making Mario quit.
Two hours into the flight and Adonis opened his eyes, his brief nap was exactly what he needed to keep his head in order. Liliana was on her phone, ignoring his presence as usual and he wasn't in the mood to taunt her, his gaze went to his half filled glass of champagne which was covered by the plane staff from what he guessed—he flipped it open and downed the contents in one gulp, quenching his thirst in a satisfying way and then she started to laugh...His wife started to laugh.
‘What did you do?'.He grumbled as he stared into his glass.
‘I added a little spice'. She responded calmly.
At this moment he wanted to kill her, he really wanted to kill her, ‘Damn you!!'.
‘You're welcome'. She responded and cackled like an evil character as he rushed towards the bathroom to retch his guts out. He returned few minutes later with a flustered face, plopping down into his seat and adjusting the safety belt as the plane prepared for a touchdown.
‘Damn you Liliana'.
‘Damn you too your highness'. She replied and silence followed as the plane went down for a landing.
