It turned out that expectations did not match the reality. Afika and her two friends, Gina and Febby, betrayed each other. They openly supported the opposing team, Alan's class. They cheered and gave full support to Alan and friends.
"Fika! Which one are you actually supporting?" reprimanded one of her classmates.
"Support our class," said Afika without feeling guilty.
"Huh! You and your friends were supporting the opposing team. It's because they were approached by Alan this morning. Didn't you?" sneered her classmate again.
Afika and her two friends were at a loss. What should they do? On the one hand, they wanted to support Alan's team. On the other hand, they were required to support their class team. Huh, what's wrong with supporting Alan's team? This country has a democratic system, where people are free to express their opinions and vote. Therefore, she would choose one of them.
"DIAZ CHEER UP!" shouted Afika on the sidelines. Her voice was so loud that it electrified the whole school.
Who did Afika support just now? Diaz, she said. Who is Diaz? Afika's classmates were surprised by her own actions. Including Gina and Febby who looked at each other in surprise.
'I'm dead! Why did you have to shout out his name?' Afika realised. Her mistake would be even more fatal because she was supporting someone at the football match.
"Afika, where are you going?" Gina asked. Afika didn't answer her call. She left in such a hurry. Like she was being hounded by debt collectors.
Gina saw Afika hurrying away from the field. It looked like she wanted to run away because she couldn't contain her embarrassment.
Afika, who took a thousand steps, immediately disappeared from circulation. She was lost among the crowd of students watching the football match between classes XI and XII. On the way to find her hiding place, her heart was pounding wildly. How could she have shouted Diaz's name so loudly?
'It must be a mistake,' Afika told herself.
It is certain that Afika’s friends must have misunderstood her. They didn't know Diaz's name. All they know is Alan. Get ready, Afika would be interrogated by her classmates after this.
"Idiot!" Afika blamed herself. She hid behind the arts building.
On the other hand, Diaz was also annoyed by the taunts of her team mates on the field. Because this was the first time a girl had shouted at him and encouraged him. Now, she was the butt of her classmates' jokes.
'Who is that? The girl who was secretly encouraged Diaz? How annoying!' Alan muttered quietly with envy. Unlike Diaz, he was the one who was now bothered. He could lose his prestige if Diaz became more famous than him.
Alan flashed a sardonic smile as he came face to face with Diaz. He was deliberately looking for an opening and looking for attention on the field. He didn't like it when Diaz beat him at sports. Especially football. According to him, the star of the field was Alan, not Diaz.
"Ciye ... got some encouragement from the class XI students. Congratulations, now you have a fan," sneered one of his classmates. However, Diaz was not so interested in hearing it. Replying to him was also very lazy.
Fan? Seriously. Diaz didn't care. After gym class, he took his uniform and left the classroom. He would change outside, not in the classroom or the toilet. Because it would definitely be crowded with other students. It was better to find a safe place other than those two places.
Arriving at the back of the arts building, Diaz took off his gym clothes and now he was shirtless. He felt a pain in his sternum. The result of last night's fistfight.
Oh my!
What is this beautiful sight? Afika silently watched as a student with the athletic physique of a sports athlete or a prospective academy cadet showed off his six-pack abs. His face was still dripping with sweat from his workout, making him look sexy and handsome.
Crackle! Crackle!
Diaz turned to the source of the voice coming from behind a large tree. There seemed to be someone other than him there. But who? Wasn't the secret place something only he knew? Slowly, he investigated. There appeared to be a student in a sports uniform hiding behind a large tree.
Afika would soon be spotted. Before Diaz caught her, she should leave the place. That was her intention. Unfortunately, when she turned around, the figure she was afraid of now appeared and surprised her.
"You were peeking, weren't you?" scolded Diaz behind Afika.
"Oh my God! Oh my God!" Afika jumped in surprise at his presence. Especially in such an unclothed state. She was in shock and covered her face with both hands. Her heart was beating so fast she almost lost it.
"What are you doing hiding there?" Diaz asked curiously.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to. I didn't know you were coming here either," Afika said with an excuse. She was a bit awkward and misbehaved in front of Diaz.
Afika walked away like a crab while covering her face with her hands. She couldn't see Diaz's body like that. It could be dangerous, she said. Less than five steps away, Diaz supported her and leaned her against the wall.
"You've been caught peeping now you want to hide. Why don't you see everything?" Diaz challenged. "Sneaky!"
"Ah, that's not the story. You misunderstood. I'll leave now and you can change in peace here. Okay?" babbled Afika relentlessly. She spoke in a hurry, hoping Diaz would let her go soon.
'Oh my. Why is it so awkward like this?' Afika looked away while swallowing her saliva whole. Diaz was still looking at the girl's face intently and didn't want to let go of Afika just yet.
"It's not that easy for you to get away from me. Now, you shut up and stand there!" Diaz pointed. "You keep an eye out for people, if anyone comes let me know. I'll change my clothes first. Understood?" He directed Afika.
Forced. Afika had to obey the orders of her annoying senior. Like it or not, she was now in charge of being the security guard. She would stand guard outside. Meanwhile, Diaz changed his clothes.
"Have you changed your clothes? Or ot?" asked Afika impatiently.
"Not yet," Diaz replied briefly. "You can't peek!" he scolded.
"Who's snooping? I'm just asking," muttered Afika rather curtly. Ah, what a long time. She was starving and wanted to go to the canteen and eat some meatballs.
"Hurry up!" she urged impatiently. "I think someone's coming!" she announced. Oh no!
Afika immediately ran towards Diaz. Just as two of his friends were about to pass by the arts centre. Spontaneously, Diaz also ran and was now hiding with Afika.
'Damn it! Why am I suddenly so nervous?'
Deg!
The two students were now facing each other, with their faces no less than an inch apart. Very close and both were staring at each other. Afika looked at the boy's brown eyes. Nice eyes, she said to herself.
Deg!
