Chapter 6 - Antisocial Audrey

The girls had good sentiments about each other, they bonded well so far and even if they didn't voice it out, they were sure they would get along.

Most departments organized the most expected event every year the following week, which some students were looking forward to. The most hyped event in all colleges, the fresher's welcome party!.

Their department like most organized it the week after because of the other students who didn't resume the first week. The party was to be held on a weekend, so students, most especially those it was organized for, the freshers were preparing for the memorable day the whole week.

The ladies dolled themselves up, they put a lot of effort to make sure they looked their best. Of course, it was unsaid but everybody else knew most of the ladies made efforts to look their best in order to attract attention.

The guys weren't left out of the fun of college life, they were also getting prepared, freshers, sophomores, and even final year students.

After a drilling and tedious week which the girls weren't used to, it was time to prepare for the party. Nelly, Hyacinth and Patricia all had an unspoken agreement… to go to the party, however, Audrey had other plans.

It was a night party, which was supposed to begin by 6 pm. The dormitories were unsettled as a result of the students moving from one place to the other to get ready. The same went for their room, the girls went from one place to another, "have you seen my brush?", "yes, you left it in the bathroom"," do you think my makeup is too light, should I add a little bit more!", "no, it's fine".

Suddenly Hyacinth burst through the door, with hair curlers in her hair and a shabby look, one hand on the doorknob and the other on a hanger with a satin dress. "My dress got burnt!!!" she shrieked, turning the dress around, the other girls saw that the dress was indeed burnt.

"Ohh my God, your dress is burnt, what are you going to wear?" Pat asked concerned for her roommate. " No worries, I can borrow you one of my dress just like this but a different color" Nelly said seeing the situation of the dress could not be salvaged in any way.

"Ohh Nelly, you are a lifesaver!, thank you!!, thank you so much!!, thank you!!" She said as she enveloped Nelly in a tight hug. "It's okay Hyacinth, here, go get ready," Nelly said as she handed the burgundy satin dress to Hyacinth.

Audrey didn't talk much, she just smiled, nodded or speak when she needed to, the girls already came to terms with what she appeared to be, With time they were sure she would slowly come out of her shell.

Although the whole dormitory was in a frenzy and the much-anticipated party was to be held that night, Audrey sat on her bed with crossed legs reading a book and sometimes glancing at the other girls.

After sometime, Nelly was almost ready and she looked around to only find three of them getting ready for the party instead of four. She looked up to see Audrey reading a book on the top bunk, "you've got to be kidding me!!" She shrieked, this caught the attention of the other girls, "Audrey is nowhere near ready!".

Looking up the girls saw she already closed the book pretending to sleep in an attempt to escape the makeover they were about to give her. All her rants of protests fell on deaf ears, " I seriously don't want to go to the party", "go take a shower!" The girls chorused. " I have low alcohol tolerance!"," come on Audrey, it's a party and we'll be there with you, it's going to be fun" Patricia said.

This seemed to console her to the slightest bit, she dragged her feet to the shower to take a bath. When she came out of the shower, the expert hands of the girls were waiting for her. Her naturally beautiful hair was done by Hyacinth, her makeup was done by Patricia and Nelly selected a beautiful bodycon dress from Audrey's closet.

It was a wonder to Nelly how someone with big hoodies, plain tees, and oversized clothes could have such a beautiful dress. The look finally came together and they could not believe their eyes, a beautiful transformation.

Audrey was clad in a pink-colored body con short sleeve dress, the dress had an oval-shaped cut on her chest, showing a little bit of cleavage, nothing too much. It accentuated her already beautiful hourglass figure. Her hair was done so beautifully and she had a pair of low heels on, she could not believe her eyes. In short, she looked stunning and the other girls gawked in amazement, one thing was sure she was rn some heads that night.

No doubt the girls were pretty in addition to that, they also dressed beautifully. Some girls admired them as they walked downstairs, while some glared at the girls, it was clear those girls were unmatched by the beauty of the four of them.

They got to the party and Patricia's lewd eyes came to the surface, she asked so openly at the men which were already present at the venue. "Come on Pat, stop looking at the guys that way", Nelly said. Patricia finally stopped, realizing it was offensive and she wouldn't want to be in their shoes, with hungry stares undressing her only with their eyes.

The party was rather cool than expected, there was no sort of harassment or hungry stares and it appeared the students came to have fun. The students delivered when it came to their outfits, there was so much life in the way the colors mixed.

It was obvious the students were there to have fun and loosen up a bit before they were reminded of the tedious lifestyle they had to cope with as students.

The party was a fun experience, there was dancing, there was snacking, there was drinking and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves, even Audrey who seemed to be aloof came out of her shell a bit during the party, she danced and drank, maybe that was what gave her the boost to come out of her shell.

The girls were half drunk and half aware of their surroundings as they got back to their dorm, they didn't even take a shower before they slumped on their beds out of tiredness. It was a good thing the party was on a weekend, at least they had more time to sleep in.
