"Yeah, I left Yato with Eris so they could have some family time"
Shin answered. Shiro nodded his head, he had expected Shin to come back a little earlier than the rest who had families.
"Since you are back there is something I need you to help me with"
"Sure, let's go"
The two then left the lecture hall leaving Yukina completely speechless.
"Those kids!!"
Yukina cursed but there was nothing she could do, they were already gone.
Shiro and Shin went into the battle arena to have a battle, they wanted to see if the marks put on them by that masked man made any changes to their bodies.
They went to the person in charge of the arena and asked to use one of the rings for battle, the man in charge asked for their badges which they easily handed over to him. A few minutes passed by before the man returned with their badges.
"Go over to E2"
The two nodded and went over to the arena ground labelled E2, the arena was a little larger than most of the other arenas in the E block but Shiro didn't mind after all he didn't know just how much the changes to their bodies would affect them in battle.
Shiro wanted to scan Shin to find out his cultivation level but Shin's next words shocked him.
"Don't forget that I don't cultivate but I am still a third grade the same as you"
Shiro wanted to aske how he knew his intentions but then he heard Shin's voice echoing in his head.
'Why can I hear Shiro's thoughts'
Shiro then smiled before speaking;
"It seems what the old man said was true, we really can exchange thoughts but I guess we would have to figure out how to use well to avoid complications"
Shin nodded in agreement but then a thought entered his mind;
'If we can exchange thoughts and have our cultivation base limited by each other, doesn't that mean that we can share our energy?"
There was no way for Shin alone to test this theory since he had an infinite amount of energy, the only way he could be sure was during his fight with Shiro, if he notices that Shiro's energy is also unlimited then his theory would be proven right.
"Should we enter?"
Shiro asked just to make sure Shin was ready.
"Yeah"
The two stepped into the arena and stood a few meters away from each other, they looked at the person who was supposed to act as the referee for them waiting for him to give them the signal to start.
"Are you both ready?"
The referee asked to make sure that they could begin at anytime.
"Fight!"
After hearing the signal, both Shiro and Shin remained still, Shin looked at Shiro waiting for the guy to make a move first. It was much more better to wait for the opponent to make a move while thinking of a way to counter than attack first and then think of how the opponent would counter.
Shiro knew that Shin was waiting for him to attack first and if he decided to wait with Shin then there would be no fight.
Shiro bent himself into the form for sword draw while keeping his hand on his sword, he didn't use the technique yet since he knew that Shin would be expecting this instead he crept forward while maintaining the idea that he could use the deadly technique anytime.
Shin saw Shiro's approach and smiled, he then began to gather chaos energy around his body to act as a layer of protection.
"If you are going to keep coming closer so slowly then don't blame me for hitting you first"
Shin then launched himself towards Shiro, green lightning wrapped his body increasing his defense and providing him with a speed boost. He appeared in front of Shiro in a flash, as someone who shared a mind with Shiro, he was well aware of Shiro's martial range and he also knew just how fast Shiro's mind was so he was aware of how long it would take Shiro to react to his attack.
Shin smiled, if he could land this attack then the fight was his, chaos energy wrapped around his fists as he swung them at Shiro in a continuous motion.
Shiro was not flustered when he noticed Shin within his range, for some reasons which he couldn't understand his mind worked a little faster than it did before, he could clearly sense Shin's every move within his range.
[Sword Style: First Form; Sword Draw]
Shiro unleashed his fastest technique while Shin was still in front of him, he wanted to be sure that he hit Shin at point blank range. He drew his blade in a second and lashed out on Shin who was too close.
Shin's body was thrown a great distance away as blood flowed from his hands, he had been able to react to Shiro's attack just then preventing it from causing him much damage.
After the attack, both Shiro and Shin were in shock, their bodies had change far much more than they could understand. Shin was only able to react to Shiro's attack because his mind now worked a lot faster than usual, he was able to see such a fast attack coming and was able to parry using his hands.
Shiro also noticed that his mind worked faster but the change that most surprised him was the fact that his attacks somehow possessed the same green lightning that Shin's attack usually had.
Both of them stared at each other as they watched the mark on their necks spread throughout their bodies. The mark on Shin's neck began spreading throughout his body, his lightning coat had grown more intense and his body now felt a little clearer than usual.
Shiro's on the other hand did not spread towards his legs, the marks passed through his hands and face, the only difference between the two's marks were the fact that Shin's own did not touch his face but it reached the other parts of his body while Shiro's mark spread throughout his entire body leaving his legs devoid of any changes.
Shiro looked at Shin, his eyes carried the same strange patterns from before and now that he was conscious of it he was able to notice somethings that he did not notice before.
He could now see.
