Chapter 48 - A Silver Knight, a Desperate Scheme, and a Dangerous Deal

I switched the view to a silver knight at the entrance of the Manta manor. I could see the fear and wariness on the faces of the people inside. But I also could feel the determination and will to fight in the air. I had a feeling that it was going to be a tough battle.

"Alizra, this is your last chance. Surrender or suffer the consequences," I said, my voice echoing throughout the manor.

There was a long pause, Alizra considering her options.

"No," she said, her voice strong and defiant.

"Very well," I said and activated the silver knight's weapon. It glowed a bright blue as it powered up, and I fired.

The blast ripped through the manor, and I could see pieces of stone, wood, and metal raining down from the sky. I could also feel a slight vibration from the ground as the building shook with the force of the blast.

I watched as Alizra stumbled out from the rubble of the building, her face, and clothes covered in dirt and dust. She was coughing and trying to catch her breath, but it was clear that she was very much alive.

"Now, are you going to surrender, or do I have to fire again?" I asked, my voice echoing throughout the manor.

Alizra looked at me with hatred in her eyes but also a hint of fear. Finally, she nodded.

"I surrender," she said, her voice shaking.

"Good. You are coming with me," I said, and my body completely opened up to reveal an open cavity. "Get inside."

"You can't be serious?!" She demanded.

"Don't make me repeat myself," I growled, and she reluctantly stepped inside.

As soon as the cavity closed, I shifted my vision back to Fawna and the palace.

"I have her," I said, and Fawna exhaled in relief.

"Now what?" She asked, her voice trembling slightly.

"Now, I can finally start to put my plan into action," I said with a grin, and Fawna looked at me with a mixture of admiration and worry.

"Let's just make sure that you don't get carried away," She said, and I nodded.

"Don't worry; I am always in control. Now you just need to get ready for the next step." I said and started to walk away.

"Where are you going?" Fawna asked, and I stopped and gave her a small smile.

"To go wait for my prisoner; go get some sleep," I said before turning and walking away.

Fawna watched me leave, her eyes filled with admiration and awe, but we would see.

The silver knight was on its way back, but I couldn't do anything crazy with Alizra inside, so I was forced to keep to the shadows. This would have been easier if I had not lost the black knight, but Alizra had targeted it first. Only threatening to destroy her home got her to give up, which I had another silver knight heading over to start to fix. The problem was that they were limited by some basic tools I had given them.

So far, I had collected 5% of my body from the explosion, and the estimated time was about 24 hours before I would even be close to 100% again. Even with the 5%, I was going to be limited because I wasn't able to control the Nanobots at all until I was at least 50%, according to my system. They were all on auto-pilot until, but I could still use some of my drones, but my control was limited, so I was using three wasp drones to scout for the silver knight carrying Alizra.

She was going to be pissed at me, but she was still alive to be pissed. I could change that if she messed around, but I didn't want to fight with her. Alizra was delusional if she thought that controlling the political members was going to fix everything, but I think that it is more of a plan made out of desperation in desperate times. Whatever it was, I was going to find out soon, and hopefully, by tomorrow, I would be able to start examining the Mindless.

Alizra was about ten minutes away, but I was still trying to think of a way to get some money as I paced in front of the cells that held the Mindless, which was in an induced coma. I had put extra effort into the cages, and they produced a certain frequency that could keep the brain in a state of constant rest. I had also placed some chaos energy and signal jammers because I had no clue how King Kaido was controlling these people. Even the silver knight's had the same blockers and sleep sounds in them to make sure that Kaido didn't use something to kill them.

I heard the door open and looked up to see the silver knight carrying Alizra heading over to me. I waved my hand, and the knight opened up, and Alizra stepped out groggily, holding her head and glaring daggers at me.

"You'll regret this," She spat.

I shrugged and gestured to the cell. "Only if I put you in that cage. I'm not gonna do that; I just need some answers," I said, and she scoffed.

"And what makes you think I'm gonna give you those answers?" She asked.

"Because I have something you want," I replied.

She raised an eyebrow. "What do you have that I want?" She asked, and I smiled.

"The power to save your clan from Ned and to give the citizens of this city a chance to start over. You know I'm the only one that can do this, so let's make a deal," I said as I gestured for her to enter the cell.

Alizra hesitated but finally stepped into the cell, and I closed the door behind her.

"Let's hear your offer," She said, and I smiled again.

"Give me the information I need, and I will give you a chance to help rebuild this city. I know the government won't do anything, so this is the only way to make a real difference," I explained, and then added, "I also know about your sister. If you work with me, I will protect you and help retrieve her, whatever the cost."
