THE WEDDING DAY....
The bell jingled as the sun beamed in Abigail's eyes. slowly opening her eyes, she jolted from her bed breathing heavily as she looked around her empty room.
"Oh no," She cried.
Today was the day she was getting married to that foolish King Carol. She knew this day would come sooner, but not this soon. Today was finally the day...
She couldn't even remember what happened after the dance session. The only thing she could recall was drinking an insane amount of alcohol for the first time in her life. Looking around her room with empty bottles of champagne and beer littered on her bed and the ground, she was surprised she could consume that many drinks before she blacked out. Her mouth still reeked the smell of alcohol and her hair was a mess, her face was also flushed and red consuming her soberness. Even the corset she put on yesterday was tossed at the side of the room.
"Good morning your Majesty" Adeola walked in with 3 other maidens as she smiled widely.
She looked around her room which reeked the stench of alcohol and littered bottles everywhere.
"I-it seems you're a little occupied here." Adeola voiced in a shaken tone.
"But not to worry. We are gonna make you look like a reborn goddess once you doll up and wear your beautiful wedding gown... Even the Prince would be too stunned to speak by your beauty" Adeola continues as the maidens spread out to arrange her room.
"W-where is Puddin?" Abigail asked looking around her room
"Oh! he's in the Master's bedroom" Adeola responds but Abigail looks a little bothered.
"He's in good shape, your majesty. His Highness has fed him some milk" Adeola speaks after noticing the worried look on her queen's face.
"Come now Your Majesty" She softly grabs the back of her shoulders.
Minutes after showering with pedals romantically laying in the pool, she puts on her robe as the maiden coils her hair. The wedding was in an hour so they all took their time moisturising her face, making her hair, and putting on a white garment for temporary use.
Within a long recess of massaging and pampering, she made her way to the dining room which was rather empty as expected. She silently cut through her chicken with a knife.
"Carol isn't coming for breakfast?" Her eyes wildered on her place as she spoke.
"Well..." Adeola took some time to think before answering.
"Today is your wedding day your Majesty. So he's in the annexe because you're not supposed to see each other yet before the ceremony takes place" She explained yet Abigail didn't find it convincing enough.
She instantly got up after stuffing the last piece of chicken in her mouth and held her dress up leaving the dining area while the guards and maidens stared at themselves in shock and confusion.
"Your Majesty, where are you going? You barely touched your food" Adeola follows her as she watches her undress herself.
"I'm going to my palace. I have to see my Father" Abigail uttered
"Your Majesty... the ceremony is starting soon and travelling to the West takes at least an hour to get there," Adeola says trying to sound as convincing.
"I don't care. I need to see my Father."
Just as she was about to put on her gown, two people showed up at the entrance of her doorstep and the minute they saw her, they walked into the room in open arms.
"Your Majesty..." They bowed
"Cara! Lady Mary!" She ran onto their arms hugging them tightly.
"I didn't know you were quite the hugger" Cara chuckled.
"I thought I would rot in here forever" Abigail whined.
"Your Majesty... You only have 30 minutes to dress up and head to the church" Adeola says interruptingly.
"Well then, let's get you ready"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Your Majesty, your wedding gown is ready" Says Athena as taking off the blind fold to the black gown Abigail ha picked yesterday, but this time, the dress had some few adjustments making it look a little more fitting and comfortable even with its added layers below.
30 minutes later:
Recently:
"Lady Abigail, Are you sure about this?" Mary, the head Maid choked in her words unpleasantly staring at Abigail's gothic wedding dress.
Staring into the huge mirror in front of her, Abigail was fascinated by how incredibly black and off-standard the dress was. This was just what she wanted...
"Of course I am," Abigail said confidently as the rest of the servants fixed her makeup. After long progress, Abigail was amazed by how petty the dark eye shadow complimented her Hard Core Black Wedding dress.
'How amusing'. Abigail thought.
She found it hard to believe it was her staring back at her reflection, She looked like a different person.
"I think you look splendid Her Majesty" Cara, Her lady-in-waiting complimented.
Abigail got up from the dressing table as Cara followed from behind. On their way to the church awaited by nobles and guests from the different empires.
The gate to the church opened widely as everyone stood up waiting for her approach. Their eyes were vowed to their expectation of seeing Abigail walk down the aisle in an elegant white wedding dress and a bouquet of beautiful flowers. But unfortunately for them, Abigail walked in wearing a black wedding dress. The room went dead silent like a cemetery surrounded by dead people and the only thing that gagged the surface were the shocked faces that seemed contagious. Whispers and talks choked the surface but even at that, Abigail still kept my head up high.
Grabbing the attention of her parents as well, Abigail couldn't help but grin at the speechless, shocked, frightened, and embarrassed looks as she passed their throne. But again, She had to remind herself of the real reason she was here in the first place. this was for the sake of calling off the engagement to her Betroth Husband, and the Emperor of the Western Empire.
Abigail walked up in his direction with a smirk and as expected of him, he looked just as speechless and stunned by her sudden appearance. His green eyes were deeply and intensively staring back at hers like he was staring dead into her soul with a judgemental look on his face.
Just as she planned...
From this point, she knew this engagement wouldn't last.
