Abigail's head peered in from the door immediately she opens the door just to check if the coast was clear.
'Empty' She whispers.
As she strolls down the hall in alert hoping she doesn't stumble upon any of the maids, she came across a door which looks oddly familiar to what she stumbled across during her tour of the room. But this time, it was unguarded.
The door had weird patterns as to what she's seen before. It was different from any other patterns on the rest of the doors.
'This must be Carol's room' She whispered to herself. Out of any other rooms in the castle, she was told that the emperor's room had a little more luxurious pattern than the rest.
Abigail shook her head to snap out of her thoughts as she instantly turned in the opposite direction. She knew well she wasn't supposed to be at this part of the palace, especially at the most convicted and restricted place of the castle.
But unfortunately, she's always wanted to know what was behind that door. As much as her curiosity struck, she pushed away the thoughts of prevailing someone's privacy.
It was well obvious that his room was restricted for a reason, but what?
Tempted to know, Abigail turns around directly to the door.
'It will only be a few seconds. Just a little peep and I'll make a run for' She whispered to herself, her hands gripping the door knob.
Right as she was about to open the door, her wrist was grabbed roughly as she felt someone's aura approach her.
"What do you think you're doing" a voice echoed as her blood ran cold as his grip became tighter. Abigail fixed her eyes on the person but was hesitant in fear as she came face to face with Prince Carol himself who didn't look pleased.
She needed to find an excuse fast, but the look on Carol's face was enough to scare a pride Lion.
"Y-your Highness!" She hesitated, her heart beating fast.
"It's not what it looks like. I was lost and-" she lied but it wasn't convincing enough.
"I'm pretty sure you were told never to set foot at this corner of the palace." His voice became more scarier and unsettling as he continues to speak.
"I apologize Carol." Abigail curtseyed in fear, her head nearly touching the ground. She didn't want to look up because she wasn't ready to face Carol's glare.
"That's King Carol to you" Carol growled, staring down at her, his grip still tightening on her wrist.
"Listen here" Carol yanked her up as he holds her cheek firmly and aggressively.
"Never! And I mean Never, Step inside my room" He begins to yell at her leaving Abigail in shock.
Abigail struggles to free her wrist but given that Carol was stronger, she lightly pushes Carol aside but to her disadvantage, he didn't budge.
Carol looked at her dumbfounded before realizing the pain in her eyes but he cared less. Instead, he continues to grip her fist tightly.
"Your Majesty please stop" she cries but his grip became even more tighter.
"You wanna know what I do to people who don't mind their business" Carol whispered giving Abigail shivers down her spine.
"Don't think that just because we're getting married, I'll let this slide. The only reason I'll marry you is in-between your thighs"
Saying this, he pushed her wrist aside aggressively but Abigail became even more frightened, shocked, and speechless.
She looked at Carol unable to believe her ears. The only feeling she felt except for fear was pure rage.
Before Carol could realize what he had just said, he felt a tight slap across his face as his gaze was instantly fixed on the ground.
"All this, is because of your pleasure and what you can take from me? You are a shameless bastard!" Tears begin to sting her ears as she retreated from him
Abigail had always known that the Majority of Men living in this world are more wicked than any monster hiding under the bed, her father included, but she didn't expect their wickedness to go this far.
"You're all the same." She scoffed trying to beat her tears.
She takes one good look at Carol whose gaze didn't leave the ground. To her surprise, he looked regretful. Almost like his statement just slipped out of his mouth. He looked like he was too guilty to face her.
Unable to build up more words to say, she turned her back and sprinted away furiously, leaving him as Carol stood there standing like a statue.
There was no way she was staying here. Not even for a second.
She couldn't believe she was going to marry this jerk in a few days. Can her life be any more miserable than it is?
While running, Abigail didn't look at what was in Infront of her and before she knew it, she hit something, or someone and falls to the ground.
As she tries to get back to her senses, she noticed that the person she bumped into wasn't a maid, instead, she looked equally as royal.
