Chapter 3 - Chapter three

" Once one steps in the spirit fighter stage, he or she can control spiritual energy within the body. Hence, his attacks are always low range since the energy can't leave the body." The mentor lectured.

" Once you step in the spirit warrior level, you become stronger and you get to control spiritual energy outside the body that's when you perform long range attacks."

" Finally, when you achieve the spirit awakening, you'll be able to control energy in other object like weapons and you can't breakthrough to the next stage without awakening the spirit beast within you."

" But that isn't important. From tomorrow we'll meet in the training studio and your cultivation journey shall begin." The mentor finished.

For the lesson no one had Futher questions hence, the class was dismissed.

" We're about to see the real geniuses now. It's better you go back home. This isn't the place you should be." Hector shot offensive words at him.

" Give up, you can't offend me in such a way." Lionel stood up and followed Chris who had already started to walk away.

" You're walking too fast." Lionel commented.

" Many people are going to the market to buy the ultra spirit regeneration pills. There's a tough job tomorrow."

" You could've told me earlier. But no problem I have some jade coins with me." Lionel replied.

" Let's rush before it's late." Chris hurriedly said.

They ran to the market and indeed the area was already partially crowded.

" How much is a bottle?"

" A bottle of 100 pills is 50 jade coins." The shop keeper replied.

" We'll take one each." Chris said.

Both Lionel and Chris took their bottle, paid, then proceeded to the dining to have lunch.

Lionel stayed at his room silently passing through the cultivation books in his room.

The next morning was like other days, but this time the lessons were to be done in training studio.

" Okay, listen up." The mentor maintained order as all the students sat cross legged a meter apart from each other in all directions.

" First before stepping into your cultivation journey, you should first enter into your spirit phantom. Only by then can you cultivate your spirit energy."

" Miss Lyla is excluded from today's lesson since she's already at the first level of spirit fighter stage."

" The rest into meditation, now! Concentrate and you'll feel your spirit energy."

Lionel closed his eyes and blocked other thought and focused into the given.

" You should siphon the energy within the spirit phantom and stop when your body can't take it anymore."

After about 5 minutes of concentration he felt a warm surge around him.

" Is this my spirit phantom?" He slowly opened his eyes and saw himself in a blue space.

Surges of blue energy flew freely throughout the space.

Lionel closed his eyes again then in an instant he started forcing the energy into his body.

After three minutes he stopped and cooled himself down and he let a deep sigh and when he opened his eyes he was back in the normal world.

" Fantastic! Now to the main part. Since you can't leak the energy out of your body yet, there's a way we determine if one was able to achieve the first level of spirit fighter stage."

In a snap, a circular stone tablet curved with runes all-over appeared floating on thin air.

" All you have to do is to focus your energy on your palm and hit the stone. The runes will light blue in sense of energy."

" Miss Lyla, I think you can demonstrate to your classmates on how to do it."

" My pleasure." Lyla replied as she stood up Infront of the tablet.

" It depends on the organ you're about to use. You have to focus your energy on the given area." She explained as she slowly moved her hands in a circle, she clenched her palm and with a thump the tablet lit blue.

" Well done miss Lyla. Now, who wants to go first?"

Hector immediately stood up and walked forward and stood infront of the tablet and punched the tablet and the blue light appeared.

All students stood up one by one and they succeed to lit the runes.

" Mr Lionel You're the only one left. Step forward please."

Lionel couldn't resist the fact that he was nervous. As he stood up, all eyes were fixed on him as he slowly walked near the stone tablet.

He sighed heavily and gathered all his courage as he clenched his fist and with all his strength he thumped the stone.

" Aaah!" He groaned in pain. He felt like all his fingers had cracked. Hector let out a loud laugh.

" What's so funny Mr. Hector?" The mentor interrupted.

" Do that again in my class and you'll be sent out right away."

" I'm sorry, sir."

" Mr. Lionel I think you should just add some more effort and you'll do it well another time."

" Ms. Lyla I assign you a work of helping Mr. Lionel here to catch up. Class dismissed."

As soon as the mentor got out, Hector mocked him " You didn't want to understand. This isn't the place you should be. Illegitimate children like you don't belong here."

Lionel managed to cool his anger down and looked at Hector's face and said " Don't worry, this isn't the best I can do. I'll show you what I can really do."

Lionel walked out of the training studio and locked himself in his room.

After lunch Lionel followed Lyla.

" So you've come. I thought you wouldn't." Lyla said.

" Just instruct me again and I'll leave right away."

" How you were arrogant I thought you might be a genius. I didn't know you were so dumb."

" I'm not dumb and I ain't a genius either. I don't like being a genius."

" Yeah I don't have time to speak to you. You can find another person. Geniuses don't talk to dumbs like you."

" You know what's worse in being a genius. You'll never find interest in things because every thing to you come in an easy way."

" I know your jealous."

" I can't be jealous, I'm happy with everything I have. Since you don't want to teach me then farewell but mark my words, I'll come to surpass you despite not being a genius" Lionel finished and started leaving.

" In your dreams."

" We shall see."

After dinner and everyone had gone to their respective rooms, he remained alone hitting a giant rock ignoring the pain of his bleeding hands.

Everyone was a sleep at that time only he alone remained outside.

" What are you doing?" A voice said behind him.

" Good evening principal." Lionel hurriedly greeted with a bow

" Your hands a bleeding. The pain is unbearable, isn't it?"

" I can bear with it. A pain that doesn't kill me, makes me stronger."

" What are you really doing?"

" I want to make a crack on the stone." Lionel replied.

" You won't make it." The principal said.

"I'm sure I can."

" I don't mean that you can't. The problem is you haven't known how to do it yet."

"What do you mean?" Lionel asked.

" In everyone's body there is something called spirit orb. It's responsible to supply spirit energy throughout your body."

" You have to focus your energy in your palm and you'll be able to do what you want."

Lionel closed his eyes and sighed heavily as he clenched his bleeding fist and thumped the stone heavily.

He didn't feel pain and cracks had emerged on the rock. He was amazed and he looked at his hands.

" You have done well." The principal commented.

" Thanks sir."

The principal withdrew a book from his robes and handed it to him and said " If you'll be interested you can learn that technique it's useful if you want to destroy such objects. You should go and rest now."

" Thank you sir. Have a good night." Lionel said and left.

" I want to try it again." The next morning, Lionel said to the mentor.

" Are you sure? Your hands are covered with bandages."

" I can do it." Lionel said.

The mentor snapped and the tablet appeared.

Lionel didn't hesitate as he clenched his fist again and thumped the tablet and the blue light appeared on the runes.

" He couldn't do it just yesterday. How could he do it?" Lyla was dumbfounded.

Hector was even more than Lyla. Lionel smiled and the mentor smiled too.

" Well done!" The mentor congratulated_ _ _ _ _
