Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Magic architypes

Zarrix struggled under foot, well not struggled, more of begrudgingly stayed put. Cornelius noticed this even without looking at Zarrix, he was instead glaring at the group, his eyes darting from one person to another.

The group in question did not move an inch, only flinching when Cornelius's eyes were set upon them. Neither one of them thought about helping poor zarrix, well except one.

"Hey get your foot off of him!" yelled William as he took out a pistol from out of his sleeves.

No one thought of how he did that, but instead thought about how this man is one of the most moronic creature they have ever met. Well all except Jeevan.

His mind raced to calculate the width and diameter of the pistol William pulled out from his sleeve, and successfully hide it in there as if it wasn't there to begin with.

How the fuck do you do that? You may ask.

Well allow professor Jeevan's thought process bring you up to speed.

'MAGIC BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT IS MAGIC, MAGIC IS BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT. WHAT THE FUUUUUUUU'

Now I'm pretty sure you now know how William hid his gun inside his sleeves. Magic, the power to bend the laws of reality around you to a certain extent.

Though in this world some people call it truths, commands, mystics and their users speakers, rulers, and practitioners respectively.

These magic users can do something that normal people usually cannot, and they achieve this with magic. They control their magic by having a kind of 6th sense, most creatures unlock this sense after a few years of their birth.

No one can determine when, but they do know it mostly happens within the span of 10 years. Some unlock theirs the moment they are birthed and some at the later stages of their life.

But when they do unlock it, they will have th choice to either practice it for convenience of life, or dedicate their life to the understanding and mastery of it.

Of course those who cannot unlock their 6th sense can also find other means to acquire magic, because of course every fire needs it fuel.

The 6th sense allows the user to see Mana, Mana is the most common type of magic fuel. And there are only 2 others that can be used to fuel magic. Aether and essence.

For some people, they try to master essence over aether, due to the fact it is far easier to acquire and learn, because essence is but the excess life force of a God.

Yes that's right, God. Beings with sentience would offer up their loyalty and being to the God they worship in the hopes a reward of some kind. These rewards can vary, but for people who are to be the main fighting force of a settlement, they would most likely receive essence.

Essence, unlike Mana, can only control a particular set of magic architypes, these architypes are most likely related to the god they worship.

So for example if they receive the essence of a Fire God, then as you may have guessed, the one who ahd receive the essence may only use magic that attribute to the sun or more commonly fire, Sea gods are water, Mountain gods are earth, so on and so forth.

A sentient being with essence may also hold an unlimited supply of aether for they only borrow this power from their gods, so essence isn't actually their own power, but God's power.

But Aether on the other hand, is somewhat of a special case, this is because aether has all of the advantages of Mana and essence combined while also keeping a few disadvantages.

Mana is somewhat weak and takes alot of energy to be a major fighting force. Mana is mostly just used to augment and enhance weapons permanently or give buffs to a individual for a certain amount of time and fuel a individual's Unique talents, but we'll talk about unique talents at a later date. Also the Mana of an individual may even reach a cap if the individual's soul cannot take any more.

Essence is destructive yes, but can cause strain and potentially death from overuse, and may anger the God who in which belonged to. Essence sometimes would not react to an individual if their faith is to low and may even punish him instead. And essence's biggest disadvantage it has a limit on how many times you can use it a day.

Aether though, when mastered is powerful and destructive, and has no limit. It does not require a being with a strong soul to contain a large number of it for aether floats everywhere and can be take from the surroundings immediately.

Though it does have 1 disadvantage, but this disadvantage is the sole reason on why only a few of the billions of sentient beings on covak has ever thought of practicing it a bit let alone master it.

It has the highest chance of killing an individual per spell than Mana and essence combined. So naturally everyone feared wild magic while envying those who could control it.

But for as such people fear something as much as they envy it but could not attain, they outlawed it. Why should other people have it when you sit there quietly in the corner envying their skills and cursing their existence.

But ofcourse there are a certain few that are not bounded by this law, these individuals as you might have guessed. Have money, power, and status, the core foundations of true power.

And right now, one of these people stood in front of Jeevan. His foot pressing down against the head of a acquaintance he had just met a day ago.

Now anyway, back to moronic femboy.

William raised both his guns and trained it's sights on Cornelius. But despite having a gun pointed straight at him, Cornelius did not flinch, he was only surprised at the action.

William's action didn't even make the posse of heavily armed fully trained elite soldiers who worked directly under a Supreme General raise their guns at him. One of them even YAWNED.

"please your hurting him" William pleaded as his sense of heroic justice tingled.

Cornelius's only reaction was to apply more pressure. Thus in turn made Zarrix flinch and push up slightly. Only for him to voluntarily go back down as he realized that the soldiers stared daggers into him.

'Racist assholes. Then again I'm a gra'ark' thought Zarrix solemnly.

William seemed to have sensed Zarrix's mood drop, like a cat hearing your footsteps as you attempt to pet it from behind.

William couldn't stand having Zarrix being sad, so his sense of heroism over took his judgement.

Oh boy this was his first mistake.

"Get your foot off of him now! Can't you see his in pain?!" he yelled at The heavily armed soldiers. His second mistake.

The soldiers still didn't react this made William frustrated. 'How can these men, whose entire job is to protect and fight for their country and its people be so cruel to said people!'

The answer is simple my dear idiot, racism.

And so William turned off the safety feature of the gun. What followed next was what should happen when hormonal driven teenagers attempt to fight heavily armed individuals that not only outnumber them, but also have more experience and strength than them.

Because God ain't gonna fucking give you jack shit for saving someone, you'll only get positive karma points. Which better than nothing.

2 from the remaining 4 soldiers rush at William the moment they realized he turned off the safety module of his pistol. It did not matter if it was supposed to be threat, you can't just go around threatening to shoot people. Do that privately, with a silencer for good measure.

They both take William down into the ground. His already dirty white uniform getting even dirtier. Afterwards one of the soldiers disarms William while the other puts his knee on top of his neck.

Once disarmed, the soldier who had his knee on top of William's neck slowly reduces its pressure allowing William to taste what's it feels like to be one of the 'minorities'.

"Gah!" William exclaimed as he had a coughing fit soon after. His eyes were watery as he pouted cutely at the stone faced soldier.

This attack was not effective to the battle hardened soldier. Well except one.

'OH shit dude she looks so fucking adorable!'

One of the soldiers pinning down William thought.

'Light blue hair as beautiful as the sky, lips that makes you wanna kiss them for eternity. Perfect almond shape eyes, a flat chest AND thick hips. Kyah! I want to marry her and start a beautiful family!'

The soldier who thought of this shivered at the thought of peaceful life with William and his 2 children. Oh boy, reality is often disappointing.

William felt the loosening of one of the soldiers grip. He looked towards the one who's grip loosened and saw that his breathing was rough and ragged.

His gaze wandered to low and saw a slight bulge. This turned William on.

All of this happened under the gaze of the group and the rest of the soldiers. Cornelius didn't bat an eye. Though none of them knew the tomfoolery that is happening between a soldier and William, well except one.

Jeevan looked in horror at the 2 horny beast that looks as if their barely getting it together, they stand upon the fine line of discipline and wild animals in heat.

Jeevan took a subconscious step away from the lustful beast a thought crossed his mind. 'I really need to get away from this group.'
