Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 :"The Transfer Student"

Part 1

Imagine a young girl, just like any other, trying to navigate her way through the difficult and often cruel world of high school. She's faced with an added challenge, however, as she has lost an eye and must wear an eyepatch instead of a glass eye. Her mother can't afford the expense, and so the girl must endure the taunts and bullying of her classmates. But one day, as the bullies are dragging her into an alleyway to subject her to their cruelest torment yet, they are interrupted by a terrifying monster. The bullies turn their attention to the creature, but it is too fast for them and it kills them with ease. Just as the monster is about to turn its attention to the girl, a mysterious man dressed in a uniform appears and fights the creature with fierce determination. The monster is no match for the man, and with a single, swift karate chop, he destroys it. But who is this man, and how did he come to be there at just the right moment to save the girl . As the man defeated the monster, the beast disintegrated into ash and the bodies of the victims were nowhere to be found. The bullies, meanwhile, were alive but had forgotten what had just happened and went on to school as if nothing had occurred. As the man revealed his face, the girl noticed that his uniform was the same as that of her high school. He gently offered her his hand, helping her to her feet. She looked into his eyes and saw a kindness and understanding that she had never encountered before. She knew that from that moment on, her life would be forever changed . The man introduced himself as the school's new transfer student and offered to walk her home. As they walked, he listened to her story, of how she had lost her eye, and how she had been bullied because of it. He offered words of encouragement, telling her that she was strong and that her differences made her unique. He promised to protect her and to be her friend. She couldn't believe that someone like him existed, someone who would stand up for her, who would understand her pain and who would want to be her friend. As they reached her house, he turned to leave. She couldn't let him go just yet, she had so many questions. She asked him if they could meet again, and he smiled, agreeing to meet her the next day after school. She watched him walk away, feeling a sense of hope and excitement that she had never felt before. She knew that her life would never be the same, and she couldn't wait to see what the future held

Part 2

As Shana walked to her high school, her mind couldn't help but wander to the mysterious man who had saved her from the bullies the day before. She had never seen him before, but she couldn't shake the feeling that he was someone special.

As she approached the gate, she saw him standing there, dressed in the same uniform as the rest of the students. She couldn't believe it. Was he really a student at her school? She approached him hesitantly and thanked him for saving her.

The man introduced himself as Laka, a transfer student from the Philippines who had been at the school for five years. He asked her about her eyepatch and she explained that she had lost an eye in an accident, and that the kids at school had taken to calling her "Cyclops" because of it.

But Laka didn't see her as a freak or a monster. He told her that the eyepatch suited her and that it looked good on her. Shana couldn't believe it. She had never received a compliment like that before. She blushed, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. As the days passed, Laka and Shana's friendship deepened. They spent their days together, exploring the school and getting to know each other better. Laka was always joking around, teasing Shana and making her laugh. He would often pretend to mess up and say something silly, just to see her react.

One day, as they were walking down the hall, Laka made a joke about her eyepatch and she playfully punched him in the chest. It was the first time she had ever felt comfortable enough to be playful with someone, and it made her realize just how much Laka meant to her.Despite the bullying and the taunts, Shana was no longer alone. She had a friend in this school, someone who understood her and accepted her for who she was. She couldn't imagine going back to her old life, where she had to face the cruelty of her classmates alone.

As the hours went by, Shana and Laka sat in the school canteen, chatting and enjoying their lunch together. Laka asked Shana about her family, and she told him that she only had one brother. She recounted how, when they were younger, her brother would always help her and her mother when they didn't have enough food.

But tragedy struck when Shana's father was caught having an affair with another woman. He left them with very little money and resources. And just as they were struggling to make ends meet, Shana's brother disappeared, leaving behind only a note.

In the note, her brother explained that he couldn't bear the thought of his family going hungry, so he had decided to leave so that they would have one less mouth to feed. He promised that he would come back someday, but Shana's mother was inconsolable. She cried loudly, her heartbroken.

Shana knew that she had to be strong for her mother, so she comforted her and vowed to work hard to provide for them. Her mother was emotionally bedridden and couldn't control herself emotionally. And so, most of the time after school, Shana worked hard to provide for her family.

Despite the struggles, Shana never gave up hope. She knew that her brother would come back to them one day, and that they would be a family again.

Part 3

As Shana came home from her part-time job, she was greeted by her friend Laka, who had decided to walk her home. As they walked, Laka asked her about her day, and she told him that she had received some good news. Her mother, who had been bedridden for months, was now able to walk freely thanks to an anonymous benefactor who had been paying their bills and electricity. Shana's financial troubles had been alleviated and she was grateful for the help.

When they arrived at Shana's house, Laka asked to meet the anonymous benefactor. As they walked inside, Shana's mother prepared snacks for Laka and introduced him to their guest. But as they entered the living room, Shana was shocked to see that their anonymous benefactor was none other than Laka himself. She couldn't believe that her friend had been the one to help them all this time.

Shana was overwhelmed with emotion and fainted, but her mother caught her in time. When she came to, she was filled with gratitude for all that Laka had done for her and her family. But as she thanked him, Laka revealed that he had another surprise. He told Shana's mother that he wanted to be her new adopted brother, as he had grown up without a family and wanted to experience what it felt like to have one.

Shana was shocked and hurt by the news, as she couldn't help but think of her own brother who had left them to make their lives easier. She retreated to her room and locked the door, her mother calling out her name in concern. Laka, understanding her feelings, told her mother that he would talk to Shana the next day and left.

As Shana watched Laka leave, she reached for a shoebox under her bed. Inside, she found letters from her older brother, who had been sending them in the old-fashioned way. She read them through tears and tried to sleep, the shoebox beside her on the bed. She knew that she needed time to process all that had happened, but she couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and support of her new friend, Laka.

Part 4

As the morning sun rose over the city, Shana stirred from her slumber. She rose from her bed, feeling a sense of determination as she prepared for another day of work. She cooked herself a simple breakfast of rice and fish, savoring the flavors as she ate. After a quick shower and a bit of hair-straightening, she checked the time and realized with a start that she was running late. She rushed out of the house, bidding her mother a quick goodbye as she sprinted towards the café where she worked.

The Starbrand Café was famous and popular in the city, known for its delicious coffee and friendly staff. Shana had been working there for a while now, and had grown to love the fast-paced environment. But today, she was late for the second time, and her boss was not pleased. As she arrived at the café, she could see her boss, Mrs. Nama, waiting for her inside, anger etched on her face.

"Shana, you're late again," Mrs. Nama scolded. "If this happens again, you're fired."

Shana begged for forgiveness, promising to be on time from now on. Her boss relented, but warned her that one more mistake would mean the end of her employment. Shana quickly got dressed in her uniform and prepared for the day ahead.

As she began her shift, a flood of customers rushed in, eager for their morning coffee fix. Shana, armed with a notepad and pen, took orders and served customers with a smile. She didn't need the notepad, however, as she was a gifted child, born with both an eidetic and photographic memory. She could remember every order, every face, every detail with ease.

As the day went on and the rush of customers slowed down, Shana was tasked with mopping the floor. As the clock ticked, the morning rush at Starbrand Cafe began to die down. Shana, a gifted waitress with both an eidetic and photographic memory, found herself tasked with the menial job of mopping the floor. But as she went about her work, a familiar figure caught her eye. It was none other than Sasaki Toshiro, her school crush and the top student in their class.

Toshiro, handsome and confident, walked into the cafe and took a seat. Shana's heart skipped a beat as she realized she would be the one to take his order. She quickly finished her cleaning duties and rushed over to his table.

As she approached, she couldn't help but daydream about a future where she and Toshiro were happily married. But the fantasy was interrupted when Toshiro gently tapped her arm, bringing her back to reality. Blushing with embarrassment, Shana apologized and took his order: one slice of chocolate cake and one coffee.

Toshiro smiled and confirmed that was his order, and Shana couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement. As she walked away to fulfill his request, she couldn't help but wonder if this chance encounter was the beginning of something special.

As Shana was putting the order for Toshiro into the counter, another familiar face was seen walking through the door. It was Laka, and Shana was still angry with him for replacing her big brother, who had gone missing while trying to save Shana and her mother.

Laka sat down, and as Shana took his order, he asked her if she would like to talk with him after her shift. But Shana, still angry at Laka, didn't say a word and only nodded to him. She put Laka's order in the counter and gave Toshiro his.

Toshiro asked if she wanted to talk, and seeing that there was only Toshiro and Laka in the cafe, she agreed. They talked about their day and how they were doing. But as they talked, Shana couldn't help but slip out the name of her missing brother, Akari.

Seeing the look on Toshiro's face, she immediately apologized but he insisted that it was fine. He told her that they had broken up because he had found out about the bullying incident in which they had bullied everyone, mostly Shana.

Shana, hearing about this, wanted to take the chance to ask Toshiro more about it, but before she could, Laka dragged her outside. He warned her that Toshiro had a "evil and menacing aura" and she should not trust him this time. Shana was furious, saying that first, he had tried to replace her brother and now, he was only judging Toshiro based on his looks.

Laka didn't say anything and Shana, finally, said that she didn't want to be friends with Laka anymore and she goes inside, takes Laka's order and gives it to him, telling him to never talk to her again. Laka left, and Shana was left wondering if she had made the right decision.

As she went back inside, Toshiro asked her if she could visit his house for studying and handed her his address. Shana accepted, but with a sense of unease, as she couldn't shake off Laka's warning about Toshiro's true nature
