Chapter 26 - ‘FUCK!’ says the croc

BOOST! A martial art that boosts the maximum damage of an attack! With Nee Chen's sword infused with a perfect fusion of qi and killing intent, his sword slashed with incredible might.

A bunch of monkeys retreats in a flurry afraid of his martial arts.

Mastering his martial skill Boost has been a piece of cake for Nee Chen. It is all thanks to his other martial skill Equip. Boost and Equip has a synergistic effect that allows each other to be mastered in a more efficient manner.

EQUIP! BOOST! Consecutively casting his martial skills, Nee Chen beheads a couple of monkeys in a single slash.

WIth impressive alacrity, Nee Chen follows up with another slash!

Ping!

At the sound of his system pinging, a monkey's head fell. Nee Chen's slash beheaded another!

Slay a Martial Tempering realm enemy 5/5

[Name: Nee Chen (Humble Blade) | Class: Warrior | Level 21 (2nd—Mind Enlightenment)]

Nee Chen's Dantian expanded as his qi swirled in a spiral. He felt his mind to be expanding several folds as his perception become clearer. Trying his new strength, he cut off a falling leaf just right in the middle.

From the tip of his sword, a silver line is created. Nee Chen admired the beauty of his sword slash, not that he is content with his current strength. In fact, nee Chen wanted more. The exhilaration that leveling up is bringing him is so addicting he wishes that he can level up forever.

"HOOO-HAAAH!" An angry monkey jumped at him from above. To Nee Chen who is now in the 2nd stage, the monkey's descent just felt too slow.

EXECUTE!

Using only his fist, Nee Chen unleashed his new martial skill, Execute! His fist blasted in a blur, gorily exploding the monkey as his skill makes contact with its chest.

Suddenly, Nee Chen felt all of his qi rapidly vanish at the activation of the skill.

"What? Ugh… Why is my qi at zero percent?"

Reading his new skill's description, Nee Chen felt faint.

[Humble Blade's Arts: Equip, Boost, Execute.]

Execute— Expends all qi with one devastating attack!

Surrounded by angry 1st stage monkeys with their eyes gleaming red, Nee Chen pales.

*Gulp… "Know the skill first before playing with it, I should remember that."

Run.

Warrior | Rogue | Mage | Healer

In front of Lurker are four different floating avatars.

The system looked more like an illusion with its intricate lines that connects and creates letters, words, and icons. Even now, Lurker has no idea how this beautiful thing came to be.

Yes, beauty. It's detailed as per shown by his displayed stats. Though rigid, it has a sleek and cool interface that is easy to use. Most of all, it can unlock an individual's latent potential to the maximum.

The fact that he still remains human now though his cultivation has been reduced to the 1st stage is a mystery of its own. He should have become a deformed abomination instead.

If what the Game Master said is true, it is possible for Lurker to return at the 5th stage without any hitch. Though still in disbelief, Lurker chose to wait and see for himself.

By waiting and seeing, he meant to be temporarily submissive to his current master. Lurker is a very ambitious beast. Though he is terribly outclassed, the thought of rebelling someday once he gathers enough strength is still a very enviable option for him.

Since he can't use his art now with his human body, Lurker has to start from zero. At first, Lurker was thinking of returning to his beastly origins. In this way, he hopes to take the same oath he once did. Lurker however already tried, but he can't feel the beastly blood inside him anymore.

This brings Lurker to inevitably give his new master's arrangement a try. Truthfully, the system has enamored him but as a sane beast, he should be wary of new things,

Lurker has no luxury of being wary however as he was reminded that he is still currently in danger.

He gazes into his system with seriousness. The 'classes' as the system refers to it are the various Dao ways that cultivators may take. According to some scriptures, there are 100 ways in 1000 ways... It possesses profound meaning that every individual has their own unique path to understanding Dao.

That's why the system in front of Lurker is quite baffling. The system after all just shortened the many Dao ways into four... Why aren't there more? Lurker inwardly asked himself.

In the second panel of his system is a Rogue flickering with various tricks.

[Rogue— a class that specializes in tricky martial skills. Arts: Fade | Snatch]

Lurker felt drawn to this class. He isn't keen on the Warrior class since it uses weapons that Lurker is not used to. Mage and Healer with their spells sound enticing, but with Lurker's personality, he just can't help, but be drawn to the Rogue class.

Ping!

[Become a Rogue!

"So, these are the quests. It looked easy enough for me."

Meanwhile...

Ping!

Meditate for 8 hours, which can be accumulated for days 8/8 hours

"Finally," Lu Gao cried tears of joy. "I AM NOW A MAAAAGE!"

[Name: Lu Gao (Hyper Blast…) | Class: Mage | Level 11 (1st—Martial Tempering)]

Lu Gao was able to finish 8 hours of meditation straight. It was difficult at first, but he was able to get the hang of it after putting himself on the precipice of death.

[Name: Lu Gao (Hyper Blast…)

Vitality: 2%]

It was very suicidal of him, but it looked like his idle reading back then when he was still a villager helped him greatly. He read in passing that the human body hides incredible potential that can only be tapped through standing at death's door.

After jumping from a cliff several times, through trial and error, Lu Gao finally recreated a near-to-death scenario which he fully took advantage of.

Though bloody and his sight is faint, Lu Gao's concentration is at an all-time high.

"FORCE," He tried his martial spell at a random rock. "Wow, it levitated!"

Like a kid with a new toy, which he is, Lu Gao played. He made the rock fly, crash, rotate and do a lot of things.

"The FORCE! It is calling to me, hahahahaha!"

Lu Gao's joy was short-lived though as he notices his depleting qi easily reaches zero.

"What the… I haven't tried my Bind spell yet!"

[Hyper… General's Arts: Force, Bind]

Force— Manifest an invisible magical hand of force.

Bind— Bind the foe with the arcane magical forces.

"They sound so cool…" Plastered on his face is a childish smile. But it slowly and swiftly changed to that of a lonely expression.

"Buojing and Guiren, those guys would be shocked that I just became a cultivator." Reminded by his friends, he lay on the rocky earth.

"I wonder, what mom would think…" Tears accumulated in his eyes, short hiccups escaping from him. His mom used to be a scribe in the royal archives. Lu Gao doesn't know anything about his father, even his mom, was reluctant of speaking about his father.

"Biron Kingdom… Royal Archives…" Lu Gao whispered under his breath, as he drives a dagger right through his chest aiming for an instant resurrection.

Ping! Payer Died!

Nee Chen had a hard time, but he was able to flee in the end from the bunch of monkeys. Even without qi, his dexterity and speed are nothing to scoff at. With just little bits of tricks, he was able to fool the herd of monkeys.

Lying covertly under the mud pit, Nee Chen arose. Excited for some hefty Exp, Nee Chen rushed for the fat croc. "I hope Bi Yuan, and Xiang Ya was able to hold off."

Nee Chen tried to think of it optimistically, but the sun is almost down, dusk is close at hand. There is still light when he arrived at the creek, so he was able to see just fine. There are signs of battles that occurred as if a disaster took a stroll in the creek's path.

"What? H-how?" Focussing his gaze, he could see a man sitting in a lotus position.

'Is he meditating?' Looking above the man's head are the words 'Jaded Croc'.

Nee Chen advanced curious about the unfamiliar player. The man seems to be totally naked. The lack of decency made Nee Chen frown, "Hello," he greeted.

But the naked man remains unmoving. 'Rude,' Nee Chen thought. 'If someone greets you, you should greet back!'

The man is clearly awake as his eyes are fully open. Gazing into nothingness, the man remained unmoving, very still. Nee Chen observed that the man is not meditating, but are just staying very still.

"Are you retarded?" Annoyed, Nee Chen pushed the man very gently.

"FUCK!" The man's forehead popped with #, anger filling his eyes. Provoked, Lurker attacked.

Nee Chen Level 21 VS Lurker Level 20

It just can't get any worse for Lurker. That day, the first-ever PK within the Sect occurred, and it was only a difference of ONE LEVEL!
