LUCAS'S POV
FLASHBACK >>
I moved to his cabin. I want him to take some rest. He should think about himself. We were at the MO. (Mafia office)
He works day and night. Not even thinking about the destruction, he is doing to himself. I know, this is a thing that can distract him from his past but he can't ruin everything. He keeps himself busy at every single second. Sometimes, I think, how does he get time to breathe?
I entered his cabin and saw him checking some files.
"Robert, I prepared everything for the funeral," I said.
"So?"
"What, so? We have to leave."
"I know"
"Umm, I want to talk to you." I hesitated.
"Then? What are you waiting for?" He said, looking at the file, he was checking.
"I...I...will handle these documents. You just go and take some rest. You must be tired."
He looked at me. "I am fine."
"Robert, you are not. I get tired just looking at you working day and night. And that's without a reason." I shouted.
He took a deep breath and slowly made that file slight on the table placed in front of him. He stood up from the seat and brushed his hair back in frustration. He adjusted his coat and leaned over his table.
"Let's go!" He said and started to leave the cabin.
I wonder when was the last time he listened to me at the first chance.
We went to the cars. He sat on the driver's seat and I sat beside him. He was driving when I spoke.
"What do you think about Kaitlyn?"
He glared at me.
"I mean, the marriage contract is of...one month? Or two months?"
"One month" He simply answered.
"And after one month"
"Planning to throw her out of my life."
"Fuck" I cursed under my breath. "Can't you give her a chance? She is such a pure soul."
He didn't reply but focused on his driving.
There is no use arguing with him because he can't give a useful answer and there's no way to control him. Not even I have that right on him. Umm, he never gave.
"Okay, so, you will let the promise go, you made with Mr Forester. Hm?"
He gazed at me clutching his jaws. Okay, I made him remember that again but it's not my mistake.
He can't let that princess go away. She is my last hope that I can change him.
Robert Williams!
With the soul and the heart which lives. I want it.
"Will you -" I was going to say further when he interrupted in between.
"I can't let that promise go, right?"
I nodded but was confused by his random question. No one, literally! No one can understand him. Now, what's in his mind?
"Then I guess, I want her" He smirked. And that was dangerous.
What's with that smirk?
"What?" I was shocked and confused by his dangerous tone.
"I want her" He repeated, narrowly looking at me.
"Wait, what do you mean by, 'want her'?"
"I want her means I want her." He smirked again.
"You can't do anything wrong to her."
"I can do whatever I want to."
"No"
"Who will stop me?" He clutched his hand on the steering wheel.
"Robert?" I said in frustration.
No use arguing with him. Urgh!
We reached his penthouse and entered it. He started to go upstairs to his room and I stood there.
"Will you stay here?" He asked, turning around. He was on the middle stairs.
"Do I have to come?" I asked.
"You can"
He entered his room and I was behind him. I asked him again about the funeral.
Then a voice interrupted in between.
"Whom funeral?" Kaitlyn said.
When we looked at her. She put her hands on her mouth that made us sure, it spits from her mouth.
I told her that it was her parents' funeral.
Meanwhile, I looked at Robert who was busy on his phone. Not paying attention to our talks.
I turned to Kaitlyn who was having tears in her eyes.
"Robert?" She said, "Please"
"What?" Robert said, putting his phone back in his pocket.
"P-please, take me...with you." She cried.
Trust me, I can't see the princess cry.
"No!" He straight away said that.
"You can't do this. They are my parents"
"So, what?"
"Please, I-I..." She broke into tears.
"Robert, listen, you have to take her." I took her stand.
Robert started to go when Kaitlyn stopped him by holding his hand. Shit! I thought he would do something but he just glanced at her which is enough for her.
"Please," She said and took her hand back when she realized she was doing wrong.
"Take her," I said.
"Did I ask you?" Robert said, turning to me.
"Stop that, you have to take her." I insisted.
"Why should I take her?" Said, Robert.
"Damn, it's her parents' funeral."
She looked at me with hopeful eyes. Oh, Kaitlyn, I can't do anything. He never agreed with me.
After continuously insisting, he finally agreed and left the place.
"I am sorry for that," I said.
She thanked me and I told her that it's not his fault he is just like this. He treats everyone like this.
But she never gave any satisfactory reply, which made me relaxed that now, she can take care of him.
She asked me what's the relationship between Robert and me. It made me laugh.
I told her that we are best friends and Robert will tell her. She was indeed very shocked and then confirmed it with me. I asked her if she doesn't like our friendship. She instantly said no.
She is a pure soul. The princess!
After saying that, I will tell her the timing of the funeral, so I left the place.
ROBERT'S POV
PRESENT <<
The driver stopped and we came out of the car.
I stopped at the cemetery's gate. Kaitlyn looked at me and I nodded that she could go ahead.
She was walking briefly with short steps which were showing that she was scared to even look at the bodies. Suddenly, she stumbles.
"Princess" Lucas's voice came into my ears. He was a bit scared when she was going to fall.
Princess?
It was strange to hear 'Princess' by Lucas.
He calls his younger sister, princess. But why does he call Kaitlyn, princess? Why is he calling her princess?
I noticed her turning around just to look at Lucas when he said Princess but she didn't say anything.
I tilted my head to her. Just seeing her falling on her knees in front of the bodies.
I heard her cry. Her voice seems hoarse. It seemed...painful. I noticed that she started to talk to the bodies. Okay, she must let feelings out.
The time flew away. I was still waiting for her. Lucas and I were standing there only.
"You can leave," I said to Lucas.
"No, Princess needs us."
"What?"
"I mean, I look at her as my younger sister. And I want to be here with her right now."
"I am here. You leave" I said again.
"No, I -" He was saying when I interrupted in between.
"Do you want me to repeat?"
"Okay, I am leaving," He said and left the place with the guards.

KAITLYN'S POV
I stopped myself after a long time. I don't know why my tears were not in my control. They were falling continuously.
I started to see everything blur. I closed my eyes and opened them.
I stood up and gave a last glance to them. "Goodbye, mom-dad."
These words came out of my mouth and again my eyes got teary.
I was walking when a small thing came under my feet, I looked at it and instantly picked it up, covering it in my fist.
I started to walk briefly with small steps. I looked in the direction just to see Robert standing, leaning his back towards the car. He looked at me as he sensed I was coming but I lowered my head, avoiding eye-contact.
I tilted my head again to look at my parents just for the last time. But I stumbled again. I adjusted myself to stand and walk properly.
"Kaitlyn" Robert called me.
"Can we leave?" My throat hurt so badly.
"Look at me,"
I nodded in no. After a second, I felt his hand on my waist and he pulled me closer.
"What happened to your voice?" He asked.
What should I say? This is just because of you. Why did you come into my life? Everything was so good but when you entered I had to lose my parents.
I nodded in no. I felt his grip tighten on my waist which made me groan in pain.
"I-I will miss them" Finally, I said because I don't have the strength to push or just talk back.
He left me and sat inside the car. I took a seat beside him. I wiped my face again.
We were sitting in the back seat when suddenly, the front mirror of the car broke by a bullet shot. It straight away hit the driver's chest.
It made me flinch. Before I could think anything more, someone held my hand and dragged me out of the car. I looked in the direction just to see Robert.
He connected his earbud and said something which I couldn't hear.
Suddenly, I heard a gunshot again.
