Chrysos walked through Nalkar's market and bought some more ingredients. He also bought steel knives for the price of 394 gold coins. As for some ingredients, he knew a particularly weird person who sells blacklipe pods.
His name is Toothrot. A crazy looking individual with a surprisingly large amount of blacklipe. Chrysos only managed to find him because he was trying to get the best deal for cheap blacklipe fruits.
When Chrysos was still looking for rare tier blacklipe, he did find great stores that sold a good amount of blacklipe for 50 silver coins for one medium sack. But when Chrysos found Toothrot who sold fresh blacklipe for fifty silver or one 5th Cabrital silver coin per large sack, he knew that he struck a good deal.
But as for the Bloodwart, Scorpion Ant King Venom, Adulem Amber and Behlit Mushrooms, Chrysos currently doesn't have any cheap sources for it, so he has to buy them at market price.
Going to a corner in the market, Chrysos met Toothrot once again.
Wearing a dirty cloak, wrinkled skin, dirty face, hunched back and rotting teeth. Toothrot cackled and said, "We meet again, Chrysos…"
Chrysos took out his pouch and gave toothrot three 5th Cabrital silver coins.
Toothrot took the coins and pulled his wagon over and carried the three large sacks towards Chrysos and laid them gently on the ground.
"I appreciate that you still come here for ingredients.." Toothrot cackled as he took his wagon back.
Chrysos laughed. "Well it's cheaper, so what am I doing if I reject it?" Even though Toothrot was someone that people avoided, Chrysos showed respect to this man.
Why?
Toothrot is an Elitius ranked alchemist who can squish him like an ant.
Chrysos gave a little salute and carried the three sacks of blacklipe on his shoulder without any difficulties. For Chrysos, it felt like carrying plastic bags filled with air. It is very light for someone as strong as him.
He walked away from Toothrot's turf and when he was in a hidden area, he stored his blacklipe in his spatial bag. After that, he began his way to buy some Bloodwart mushrooms.
Bloodwart mushrooms are special mushrooms that have a blood circulation despite being a type of fungi. They use this blood circulation system to distribute nutrients easily through their stems and to provide nutrients to other mushrooms connected to their mycelium.
Going to the usual area, Chrysos met Cireno once again.
Cireno was arranging ingredients on the shelves when he saw Chrysos approaching.
"If it isn't sir Chrysos. What would you purchase today?" Cireno stood straight and looked at Chrysos with a calm and unmoving gaze.
"Three large sacks of rare tier Bloodwart and Behlit mushrooms each, Three gallons of rare tier Scorpion Ant King Venom, and a large boulder of rare tier Adulem Amber." Chrysos listed out his order.
Cireno nodded and wrote something down on a small piece of paper and said, "That would be 78 gold coins and 25 silver."
Chrysos took the right amount of money and slid it on the table.
Cireno counted the coins and stored them inside a drawer. "And here's your order."
Men behind Cireno gave the sacks full of ingredients to Chrysos before shortly leaving. Chrysos carried the sacks on his shoulders like it's nothing and gave a short nod.
And because the market was quite large, there were dark areas that Chrysos exploited to store his items into his spatial bag. And once the ingredients were safe, he came out of the darkness to buy more and more ingredients.
This cycle of buying, hiding, and storing ingredients kept repeating for twenty minutes.
Chrysos stepped out of the shadows once again and decided that he already had enough ingredients to make the bio-engine. He held his spatial bag and examined the items inside using his will. "This seems enough to make steel flesh, organic tissues, the nervous system, the digestive system, the circulatory system, the skeletal system and the excretion ducts." Chrysos checked his pouch and saw that he spent quite a lot on this one.
His savings are only 7,625 gold coins and it probably won't last long unless he does something.
Chrysos ignored his financial problem for now and focused on making the bio-engine first.
Even though it looked useless for now, Chrysos actually has a need for it.
He could use it to make a grinder to speed up some steps when it comes to brewing, he could also use the bio-engine to make a fan, a drill, a water pump, and many more.
He isn't planning on making only one of these bio-engines, he has bigger plans for them. If possible, he wanted to incorporate this clean energy source as much as he could to make his work even more convenient.
As Chrysos was thinking about how he could use the first bio-engine, he caught a glimpse of a Minotaur heart for sale.
Chrysos' eyes gleamed with excitement. The heart of a Minotaur is a very unconditional alchemy ingredient and that's the reason why barely anyone sells these. So to brewing type classes, this was an alchemy ingredient that they immediately grab if they need it because it isn't something that anyone can get easily if needed. But for Chrysos, it looked like an energy source for him.
If he used it on a bio-engine, the efficiency would go at least by 10%
And being someone who really wanted to make the bio-engines as functional as possible, Chrysos wanted it.
And in the corner of his eye, he saw a group of three eyeing the Minotaur heart as well. And when they saw Chrysos looking at the Minotaur heart, they began running towards the store.
He rushed over and jumped over a man pushing a wagon using his superhuman strength.
"Waahh! Don't do that!" The man raised his fist at Chrysos who was running towards the store that sold the Minotaur heart.
"I'm sorry!" Chrysos raised his hand to gesture an apology.
The man clicked his tongue and continued on with his work.
As Chrysos bolted through to get the heart, he bumped two adventurers chatting with each other.
The male adventurer turned around and shouted, "Hey! Watch it!"
"Sorry, this is really important!" Chrysos then slid down to avoid a table that was on his way. The tall jars and vases hit each other as they moved from the vibration.
Clink!
"Hey! My vases!" The owner of the cases hugged the vases to prevent them from falling over.
One vase was pushed over the edge as Chrysos was sliding under the table. With his quick reaction speed, he caught it and placed it on the ground before running on his feet once again.
Chrysos looked to the group of three and saw that they were getting left in the dust.
"Hahaha! At this rate I'll be able to get it before they do!" Chrysos laughed in his heart, but when he looked forward, there was quite a huge crowd ahead of him.
"Hmph.." Chrysos activated "Steel Rage" and "Swiftness" before running with his full speed.
A man in the crowd saw Chrysos rushing over with a very terrifying speed. "Hey, slow down! That's dangerous!"
Chrysos didn't listen and continued running.
The man panicked and alerted the others. "Everyone! Watch out!"
When the other people in the crowd saw Chrysos running towards them at such a quick speed, they all tried to scramble out of the way.
When Chrysos was about to hit the crowd, he suddenly jumped up after creating enough speed and momentum. The crowd who was previously in fear looked up in awe as their previous worries faded.
Chrysos landed by catching himself in his legs and arms before running towards the store.
When he reached the store, he slammed his hands on the counter and said, "One Minotaur heart please!"
The shopkeeper was startled. "Alright, alright, just calm down.. I'll get it for you.." the shopkeeper regained his composure and stored the heart in a sack before placing it on the counter. "It's five hundred gold coins."
Chrysos took out one hundred 5th Cabrital gold coins and slid it over to the shopkeeper.
The shopkeeper was counting it until the three men from earlier reached the store as well.
"Hey you, we'll double the price, just give that heart to us." One of the men wearing a black and red bandana said to the shopkeeper.
The shopkeeper smelled trouble, so he quickly came up with a response. "My apologies, but it now belongs to this gentleman right here."
The three focused their attention to Chrysos.
A huge muscular man at the back spoke first and said, "Alright we'll pay you double if you give that heart to us. How does that sound?"
Chrysos shook his head. "Unfortunately, I need this.."
The looks of the three became unfriendly after hearing what Chrysos said.
The third person, who is a rogue, spoke to Chrysos with a cold tone. "Look, we're being sincere with you. If you don't want to sell it to us, we can also take it from you, got it?"
A golden light flashed through Chrysos' eyes. But before he did anything rash, Gerald calmed down and this violent urge cooled before fading.
"Alright I'll be willing to sell this." Chrysos didn't want trouble, so he might as well sell it. And when he thought about it, he could use another creature's heart to substitute and it wouldn't be that bad anyways.
"Good." The man with a bandana tossed a bundle of gold coins over to Chrysos.
Chrysos caught it and gave the sack containing the Minotaur heart.
The rogue grabbed the sack and confirmed that it was indeed the Minotaur heart. "Let's go, we got what we needed."
The muscular man sneered at Chrysos before leaving. He muttered under his breath, "Spineless coward."
Chrysos watched them leave.
He opened the bundle of gold coins and saw that they weren't gold coins. But instead were bronze coins.
Chrysos slowly clenched his hands into fists and the golden glare on his eyes returned.
The shopkeeper watched Chrysos trembling from anger which caused him to feel that something bad was going to happen.
Taking the potions from his belt, Chrysos drank a Rare tier Strength potion, a Rare tier Speed potion, a Rare tier Divinium Body Protection potion, a Rare tier Revitalization potion, a Rare tier Quick Vision potion, a Rare tier Clear Sight potion, a Rare tier Mind Clarity potion, and a Rare tier Delayed Divinium Recovery potion.
He then used both "Steel Rage" and "Swiftness" before unsheathing Angelfeather.
Chrysos slowly walked towards the three of them.
The rogue who has the most sensitivity to Divinium detected the unusual fluctuations behind them. He turned around and saw Chrysos with his sword unsheathed.
"Hey, look who's back." The rogue nudged the two of them with his hand and pointed at Chrysos.
The large man, who is a Paladin, crossed his arms and said in a rough voice. "Kid, I suggest you turn back if you don't want to get hurt."
Chrysos laughed. "You expect me to take a bag of bronze for what I bought with gold? Your shamelessness knows no bounds."
"Tch, why are we even wasting our time with him? He should've been grateful we didn't forcefully take it from him in the first place." The man wearing a bandana unsheathed his sword. And from how refined his form was with the sword, it was clear that he is a swordsman.
"You're going to regret this." Chrysos dashed forward.
The swordsman quickly swung his sword downwards, he also used his unique ability, "Flexible Blade" to create a chance to counterattack if his first slash was blocked.
And as the swordsman predicted Chrysos tried parrying his blade with Angelfeather. The swordsman smiled and his sword quickly changed its movement and it was quickly heading for Chrysos' neck.
In the swordsman's mind, he spoke in a scornful tone. "You're not even a proper melee class, yet you dare challenge someone who practiced the sword more than you? Dream on.."
Chrysos reached out his empty left hand to grab the sword. The swordsman expected his Strange Tier sword to slice through Chrysos' hand, but what happened next shocked him.
Chrysos grabbed it like it wasn't sharp at all. His fingers created sparks flying out as he held the sword. And once he caught the sword, he used his left elbow to knock the swordsman's face.
Thack!
"Gah!" The swordsman watched Chrysos in disbelief.
The elbow strike was so strong that it felt like his face was pounded by a sledgehammer.
The rogue behind the swordsman responded with haste and threw knives at Chrysos which he blocked easily with Angelfeather.
The swordsman slowly stood up while staggering on his legs. He spat out a bit of blood with an angry expression on his face. "I'll kill you, you bastard!"
Chrysos took out a vial and uncorked it. It was a green blue liquid that he poured on Angelfeather.
Rare Tier First Generation GCW (Greenwood Chemical Weapon) Venom.
A powerful venom that attacks the nervous system and the respiratory system to heavily paralyze the target.
Chrysos could've used Hemoglomorxyn, but it is a gas that is only dangerous because of the Divinium charges on the oxygen atoms and is easily dispelled by many powerful Divinium users. The reason why the Steel Rhino was affected by a Divinium charged gas is because it lacked cleansing abilities to remove the negative effects of the DC'ed (Divinium charged) gas.
As for Vedian's men, the reason why they were affected is because they weren't really using anything to strengthen their bodies. It was as if they were just probes.
That was also the reason why even though Vedian came across the area filled with Hemoglomorxyn, he wasn't even affected by the slightest.
The paladin's muscles tightened the moment he saw the venom coating on Angelfeather. "This person is a tough one.. we might be in trouble."
"Too late now, if we don't get this heart, the leader will kill us.." The swordsman wiped the blood off his nose.
The rogue dashed forward with both of his daggers. He then activated a rogue exclusive unique ability called "Immediate Laceration."
Two powerful and swift blades came slashing down on Chrysos.
Chrysos used "Sword Of The Worthy" and parried the strikes. But as his sword was about to strike the rogue's blades, the rogue disappeared.
"Oh crap.."
Unique Ability, Afterimage..
Chrysos felt two painful strikes cleaving deep through his abdomen. He looked down and saw that the slashes done by the rogue caused him to bleed out profusely.
He grabbed his stomach to prevent the blood from leaking any more.
The rogue reappeared in front of Chrysos. "You should've known your place from the start." He looked at Chrysos' wound that leaked out a continuous stream of blood. "Honestly, if I were you, I'd try taking care of that wound before it gets wors-"
Fiuu-
A quick stab forward almost caught the rogue by surprise. He blocked it with his blades and took a step back afterwards to avoid Chrysos' range.
"That's a nasty trick.. to think that you still have that much strength after losing a large amount of blood.." The rogue laughed.
"Blood?" Chrysos snickered. He stood up and removed his hand from his stomach. The stream of blood earlier completely stopped like it wasn't even wounded before. "You never managed to injure me in the first place.."
The rogue stared in disbelief. "Tch, I won't be fooled again."
"Let's see about that." Chrysos bolted forward like a diving eagle and used the Sword Of Fortune's first form.
The rogue dashed forward as well. He used as much of his abilities to get a good advantage against Chrysos.
Of course, the swordsman and the paladin didn't watch by the side. They both joined the fight and helped the rogue.
The paladin used his class exclusive ability, "Magic Armor" and then a thick layer of tough illusory armor protected every single part of his body. This armor is difficult to penetrate and it can even regenerate!
The swordsman used a multitude of sword techniques and spells to slash down Chrysos.
Chrysos took a deep breath as the barrage of attacks rained down on him. He slashed forward.
The rogue disappeared once again after being slashed and quickly reappeared behind Chrysos. Chrysos blocked the rogue's strikes and used "Force Pulse" to kick the swordsman's blade.
The swordsman was caught unprepared and was sent back a few steps.
Chrysos casted Flaming Claws and attacked the rogue. The rogue quickly dodged the attack and circled his body to counterattack by slashing Chrysos.
Chrysos used the Sword of the Worthy and when the rogue struck his sword, he was sent back as well by the repulsion force.
The paladin swung his sword down, but Chrysos dodged it by sidestepping to the left. He jumped up and raised his elbow and sent it crashing down on the paladin's head.
Crack!
The Magic Armor of the paladin shattered, causing a part of his head to bleed.
The paladin took three steps back as he looked at Chrysos warily. He held the side of his head and looked at his hand to see it completely covered in blood.
Chrysos spread his arms smilingly. "What? Is that all you guys have?"
