Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

Clyde stepped back several steps from the hand, keeping his gaze fixed. He watched as the head of the undead rose slowly from the ground, emitting a low growl.

The huge, 5-meter-tall monster slowly rose, shedding rocks from its decaying body as it climbed. The stench of rot filled the air, as portions of its flesh fell away to reveal its skeletal structure.

Clyde's expression turned serious as he gazed upon the monster. His instincts warned him that this creature was stronger than any other monster he had encountered in the dungeon before.

The massive undead locked its gaze onto Clyde and let out another guttural growl, causing the ground to shake.

Clyde was alarmed by the power of the growl, realizing that the monster's strength was capable of impacting the surrounding area.

As the growl of the huge undead subsided, five more undead rose from the ground and fixed their gaze on Clyde.

"Shit, this undead can summon high-level undead," Clyde thought in shock as he watched the new creatures emerge from the ground.

Bracing himself for battle, Clyde was determined not to retreat. He was ready to face the undead with all his might and use every skill at his disposal. He understood that the undead was an overlord, and that defeating it might yield valuable rewards. Thus, he was determined to seize this opportunity.

The five summoned undead launched their attack, lunging at Clyde with their massive claws. They relentlessly assailed him with their claws.

Clyde relied on his reflexes to dodge the undead's attacks, opting not to use any skills and conserve his mana efficiently.

Dodging to one side, Clyde tried to create some distance, but before he could react, a massive dark beam struck him directly. Fortunately, he managed to activate his mana shield in time, but the force of the beam shattered it and sent him crashing into the wall.

Despite suffering only minor damage, Clyde was taken aback as the mana shield, which he relied on for protection, had never been broken before. He realized that the attack must have been equivalent to level 20.

Clyde slowly pulled himself from the wall, his eyes locked onto the gaping maw of the huge undead, ready to unleash another beam.

The beam was unleashed towards him, and Clyde quickened his movements unleashing his amplification, narrowly avoiding it by rolling on the ground.

The five undead also descended upon Clyde, launching their attack as soon as the beam passed.

With no other option, Clyde reactivated his mana shield to defend himself from further damage.

Countering their attack, Clyde cast a fireball and directly hit three of the undead, disintegrating their bodies with the overpowering force of the spell.

Rising to his feet, Clyde focused on the two remaining undead. He summoned his dagger and vanished, appearing behind each of them. With swift strikes, he took off their heads, causing the two undead to collapse onto the ground, their greenish fluid spilling onto the floor.

The huge undead let out a massive growl in response to the defeat of its minions. With remarkable speed, it approached Clyde, its hand swinging towards his head in a crushing blow.

The undead roared as it realized it had been struck. It swung its other claw at Clyde, but he deftly dodged and jumped back, creating distance between himself and the monster. With a quick gesture, Clyde summoned a fireball and launched it toward the head of the undead, striking it with devastating force.

Despite the fireball, the undead remained standing, holding its injured head. With a growl, it unleashed another beam toward Clyde.

Clyde activated his mana shield, protecting himself from the beam but he was still thrown a considerable distance.

Meanwhile, inside a house, two students were observing the scene with intense interest.

The two students in the building are deeply shocked as they watch the intense battle unfold. The destructive power being displayed is beyond their level and they can sense it even from their current distance.

"Mina, is that really Clyde Evirille?" asked the man beside the girl.

"There's no doubt about it Kevin, we saw him with Steven at the station before," replied Mina.

"His level of strength is beyond level 15, I'd say it's at least 20, judging by the intensity of the battle," said Kevin, stunned.

"If we had tried to attack him earlier, I think we would have been turned to ashes," Mina shuddered at the thought.

"With his strength, he must be among the top students here," Kevin said, "But now we have a chance to steal his book." Kevin couldn't help but grin at the thought of sneaking up on Clyde.

Observing from their vantage point, Kevin and Mina keenly watched the intense battle, eagerly wait for the undead to deplete a significant portion of Clyde's mana.

As the battle raged on, Clyde was both attacking and defending against the undead. The fight was intense, but Clyde was slowly chipping away at the monster's strength.

The intense battle with the undead is consuming his mana quickly and he is worried that he will be left with no mana once the battle is over, making it very dangerous for him.

Despite successfully evading the attacks, Clyde knew that the undead was far from being defeated.

The constant barrage of attacks was draining his mana and he was becoming increasingly concerned about running out of energy. He needed to come up with a plan to defeat the monster before it was too late.

Clyde calculated his options and decided to take a risk. He would expend a large amount of mana in one final attack, leaving him with only 20 mana points. Despite the danger, he believed that he would be able to escape with that amount if something unexpected occurred.

To execute his plan, Clyde needed to create some distance between himself and the undead. Taking advantage of the undead's next strike, he used his mana shield to absorb the force of the blow and was launched a few meters away. He landed gracefully.

With precise aim, Clyde used "Flame Bind" to trap the undead in a massive chain of fire, immobilizing it for a crucial moment. Seizing the opportunity, he used up a large amount of his mana, leaving only 20 points, to unleash a barrage of fireballs, hitting the undead with immense force.

As he launched the massive attack, Clyde held his breath, hoping that it would be enough to defeat the undead. If it managed to survive, he would be left with only 20 points of mana and would have to retreat.

Clyde observed as the undead tried to put out the flames engulfing its head. Despite its struggles, the monster still stood tall.

But luckily after some time the undead finally stopped struggling and collapsed onto the ground.

Clyde breathed a sigh of relief as he had successfully defeated the undead. His hard work and perseverance paid off as he received a level-up for his accomplishment.

[Congratulation! for defeating the overlord, khufra]

[Ding! level 10 achieved]

[Ding! skill level can now be upgraded]

Upon hearing the notification, Clyde was taken aback by the surprise that his skills could once again be enhanced.

But before that, Clyde stood up and approached the fallen overlord to see if it had dropped any items. To his luck, the overlord had dropped something.

Excited, Clyde picked up the item, a book, and was eager to read it immediately. However, before he could even open it, 'Swoosh.' he was struck by a frozen arrow.
