Chapter 69 - 69: Bro

Skye

I woke up to the smell of food and sat up sniffing. "Bacon????" I murmured, causing Dylan to chuckle, his eyes still closed, and looking adorable. "Might wanna cover your ears." I quietly whispered to him. He did as warned and I loudly yelled in Jake's voice, "MAKIN PANCAKES MAKIN BACON PANCAKES!!!" After not even two words Kat, Jason, Lily and Drake all bolted awake and flailed around slightly from the sudden yelling.

"Ow!!!!! What the hell!!!!" Kat yelled at me.

I smirked and continued, still using Jake's voice, "TAKE SOME BACON AND I PUT IT IN A PANCAKE! BACON PANCAKES THAT'S WHAT IT'S GONNA MAKE BACON PANCAAAKKEEEEES!!!!!" I then got up and headed downstairs. Dylan following, chuckling, after me. We walked into the kitchen to find Kelsey plating pancakes, bacon and toast with seven glasses of orange juice already ready. Lily, Kat, Jason and Drake had followed us down the stairs and we all sat down. Kelsey handed each of us a plate and we all started eating. Eventually Kat sorta ruined my child-like mood I had going for the first time in a while by asking why I tried to kill myself.

'Tell them Quetzal, they'll be here to support you. You know none of them would ever hurt you.' Dylan mentally told me gently.

I mentally rolled my eyes and answered angrily, "Because I was sick of being used by the dumb, selfish people on this planet." I knew I surprised everyone by actually answering but Dylan had a point, none of these people would ever stab me in the back. They're here to help and support me as much as I'm here for them, they've already proven that. I ended up ranting on about the basics of what's happened to me. After talking a bit more and having Kelsey wanting to get revenge for me she realized what time it was and we all headed to school. Lily left Dylan and I to go to her class and we headed to Biology. I pulled out my binder just out of habit, then hesitated due to not wanting more depressing drawings. Dylan subtly rested his hand on my knee, reminding me of what he told me yesterday. So I focused on the energy I felt through just his hand touching my knee and drew. Once I finished I snapped out of my daze and stared at the paper with Dylan doing the same from beside me. I had drawn his face from this morning, exactly how it was. My face flushed red as I closed my binder and stared at my desk. From the corner of my eye I could tell he was trying to keep his chuckle to himself and was doing a terrible job at it.

"Fantasizing Q—"

"Shhh. Just. Shhh. Shut up." I interrupted, cheeks getting redder. He broke out chuckling.

"If you don't mind you two I'm busy here trying to teach my class, that you're a part of, so if you are going to pay this little attention feel free to leave so the rest can learn." The teacher growled.

"Okay. Bye. Oh but uh, I'll be taking my homework for the week with me. Thanks. See ya." I sassily retorted, grabbing the papers I knew I would need from his desk. I flipped my hair, turned and fake cute waved—forgetting my mostly fresh cuts are visible on that arm—then left. I headed outside to our usual tree and waited for next class to start, which would be after lunch. I opened my binder again and drew once more, this time drawing Dylan and I as each others reflection with our hands touching.

"Tryna say we are one there Quetzal?" I heard Dylan ask from behind me.

I smiled and replied, "Guess so." As he sat beside me my smile faded as I asked, "So tell me again your reasons for knowing I was cutting myself?"

"Your dream, you went to the bathroom a billion times because you drank way too much water." He answered simply.

"And..?" I pressed, waiting for the answer he was deliberately hiding. I looked at my wrist again to see the fresh scars and scabs so he showed me his wrist of the same side, faint scars the exact same on his wrist. "So.... Was pretty stupid of me to forget right...?" I asked, scoffing at myself.

"And the fact you kept constantly rubbing your wrist almost all the time, whether you realized or not. But it's alright Quetzal, I know you did it to try and end your emotional torment or just to feel something. I mean yes, hurt like a fucking bitch but you've stopped and aren't ever going to do it again. Plus your emotional pain was way worse." Dylan gently replied, running his thumb across the back of my hand.

"Hey whachu guys talking about?" Lily butted in. OH dear fucking god I hope she doesn't have a single clue of anything we just said. I quickly shifted my wrist to hide the scars so she couldn't end up seeing them. I want to tell her... She's my best friend, but... I don't want her to hurt from me hiding it from her...

'It's alright Skye, she'll only hurt from you hurting cause she cares about you.' Dylan mentally told me. I sighed, getting annoyed with this whole be fully open thing.

Lily furrowed her brows and went to probably ask what, but I beat her to speaking, "Actually... We were talking about this.." I let my scars and scabs show again and lifted my arm for her to see. Shock took over her expression as she stared at the old(ish) cut marks across my wrist.

"Skye..... wh—.... When...." She murmured disbelievingly.

"Few days ago.. Tried hiding it from everyone but... Apparently someone else gets hurt the exact same as I do." I answered, shooting a look at Dylan who showed her his wrist.

"She's not allowed to go to the bathroom alone anymore, in public places you and Kelsey are her bathroom buddies." He told her, shooting a look back at me to which I rolled my eyes.

I guess to try and lighten the mood Lily got a mischievous sparkle in her eyes then asked, "Does that mean when you're alone, you're her... bathroom buddy???"

We both knew exactly what she actually meant by that and I gagged and shook my head, but Dylan being the anus he is fricken answered, "Yup, I am." I slapped his arm, and ignored the stinging feeling now in my own, glaring at him.

"Not in the way you're fricken thinking." I growled at my best friend. She kept the twinkle in her eye and pretended to agree, changing the subject to her parent's planning a vacation. Knowing me too well and knowing I hate talking about myself. The three of us headed to our next classes once lunch was over, then after school Kelsey asked me about Mason. I told her we would go talk to him after school, and after her classes were done for the day I teleported her and myself to Trealle. Though due to the magic of time difference I had to wait a bit when my classes were finished. We thankfully landed in Mason's room and scared the shit out of him.

I laughed and said, "Sorry Mason."

"What are you guys doing here aside from fuckin scaring me?" He asked, shaking his head at us. My inner big sister came out, crossed my arms and raised my brow.

"And uh. Who said you're allowed to swear mister? Hmm?" I sassily asked, my hip out to the side slightly. He looked at a loss for words before I chuckled and stood normal again then walked over to pat him on the shoulder. "Its aight, proud you're learning language that's a lot more fun. Besides, you're fuckin fifteen. Teens in the other world start swearing at like twelve or eleven. They hide it from their parents, but they still do it nonetheless." I teased, Kelsey chuckling with me. "Anyway we're here to tell you about something you've probably already thought about." I added, getting slightly more serious. Our brother furrowed his brows in confusion.

"Well, you know both of us are shapeshifters. The three of us share the same mom, who's also a shifter." Kelsey started gently, trailing off to let him put the pieces together himself.

Realization came to his face and he exclaimed, "You think I'm a shifter too? I mean yes I considered the possibility a few times before but told myself it was nonsense."

"That's why we're going to teach you, see if you're powerful enough." I replied.

"What do you mean, if I'm powerful enough?" Mason asked. I sighed and made him sit down.

"If your father is human it'd mean you're a half-blood, which isn't as strong as two people who can either shift to a wolf or to anything. Though he shouldn't be human because mother and our aunt are either both shifters or our aunt is a werewolf and both can only be mates with shifters or werewolves. If you can shift at all with a human father—if he were to somehow be human—there's only a very, very slim chance you'd be able to shift to inanimate objects like me. But I also have extremely great control over my powers, even Kelsey can't yet. If he's a werewolf then.... you might?? You'll definitely be able to shift into animals, probably not anything else though. And if he's a shape shifter you'd probably be able to at least shift to a few inanimate objects. Ours was one of the most powerful shifters possible, and our mom is supposedly extremely powerful too. Which is why even with a human father you'd be able to shift." I explained as gently as I could, I'm not exactly great at the whole "gentle" thing. "We'd train you right here but this world fucks with magic, so in order to fully know whether it works or not we have to go back to our world. You able to right now?" I asked.

Mason hesitated for a moment, thinking, then answered, "Yes, I am able to. Let's go." I used my wrist device again, making a portal to my house to practice outside since it's discreet and where I continuously practiced.

"Since both of you need shift training I'm going to help both of you at once. Kelsey, do just as you do with other shifting but imagine inanimate objects instead of animals or other human appearances. Although it might not work if we have different power abilities. Mason, you have to imagine the exact appearance of what I'm about to be and envision yourself morphing into it. Okay?" I explained to both of them, Kelsey stepping away a little after I gave her her instructions. Mason looked a little lost but nodded anyways. I shifted into a simple pure black house cat since it's the easiest thing I could think of for a first shift, if it even works.. I watched our brother stand, staring at me for a minute then closed his eyes to concentrate. After what felt like forever he finally, finally, FINALLY shifted into a little black cat. It was hard to miss his momentary cringe of agony, which made me wince knowing he's not used to the pain I'm used to. After he tried covering up his cringe his eyes widened in pure amazement at me, not believing he just shifted. Along with his amazement I could see severe pain in his eyes, I forgot shifting hurts. Oops. Kelsey stopped what she was doing and we happily congratulated our brother, he managed to shift back without being told how. "Glad to see you knew how to shift back on your own without being told. How's your shifting coming along?" I said to Mason then asked Kelsey. She stood focusing for about a minute, but nothing happened.

"Guess I can't do inanimate objects, least I got my other cool powers." My sister shrugged, me shrugging as well wishing I had her invisibility power. Although I make Roxie invisible to people so maybe I do and don't know it?? After that quick thought I went back to smiling at our brother.

"Okay now try another thing on your own." I told him, both of us stepping back from him. After a few minutes he shifted into a bird, Quetzal to be exact if I remember correctly. I rolled my eyes exasperated and asked, "Seriously? The fuck bro."

He shifted back and replied, "What? I've been researching a lot on them while visiting you to see if there's anything bad to be said about them and there isn't so I figured it'd be a good way to say I approve of your relationship." I dramatically blinked then rolled my eyes again.

"Thanks. Though now I need to approve of your relationship." I stated, smiling after while gently elbowing him. He visibly got flustered and asked what I meant. "I won't say since it's your thing to tell not mine, but I approve and have been uncharacteristically fan-girling in my head since you guys met. No one else has noticed, so don't worry, but you guys are so cute." Kelsey looked confused as all hell, but I just smiled at our brother who couldn't keep the sheepish smile off his face or blush out of his cheeks. "Anyways keep practicing, but especially when you're at home make sure no one ever sees you. Got it?" I added, changing the subject. He nodded in understanding then we had to say our bye's since he has probably been gone too long by now. I sent him back home and did the same with Kelsey who kept asking what she's missed and never got an answer. I headed towards my front door but stopped when I felt a warm presence behind me.

"That's pretty cool how there's three of you now." Dylan commented as I turned to face him.

"Yeah yeah yeah, eavesdropper." I fake scoffed, giving him a playful glare.

"It was a pretty nice sentiment he gave us though Quetzal." He said, smiling.

"I know. Come on let's watch a movie or somethin." I replied, heading into my house.

"How bout or somethin?" He responded seductively. Suddenly I was pressed between him and the frame of my front door, eyes locked together.

"U-uhhh... Someone a little horny?" I awkwardly/nervously joked, heart racing.

"Yes." Dylan answered simply, roughly kissing me after.

You all know what happened, I don't have to write more than that. Anyways sadly my second last chapter for this story, but the last one will feature stuff from both views so don't worry. Proper closure for both :)
