Murayama Hotaru, who's true name was Wang Chun never expected that he would face such a calamity after escaping from the war regime in China to the peaceful city of Heiankyo, Japan. As a teenager, he worked for five-years and did favours for a lot of people to enter the imperial palace as a guard, where a stable income would be guaranteed.
Working hard over the course of twenty-years, he eventually caught a break when the previous emperor died. He was selected to become a part of an elite squad of martial artists assigned to protect the new emperor, Go-Ichiji.
Although the capital suffered an attack from an unknown yokai in the form of a child, he was confident Lady Murasaki could settle the problem. All he needed to do was help escort the imperial family from any would-be assassins that would use this chance to kill him, especially the Minamoto clan.
The carts were filled with all the priceless possessions and the escape route had been confirmed to be clear. Everything was going the right way and he was looking forward to the recognition and rewards he would receive from making sure the operation went well.
Never did it occur to him that two women he had never seen before would ruin everything. Before he could even react, his best friend, Suzuki Ichigo, was killed. Overcome by shock, he couldn't even react before the emperor, empress and several other servants who amongst one of them was his future wife, were killed.
Falling down to his knees in despair, he could only mutter the same word constantly as tears flowed down his cheeks.
"Why…why…why…why…"
He escaped a war-torn country and through forming good relations, he managed to become an imperial guard. Through pure hard-work, he managed to become an elite troop assigned to protect the emperor. Through a stroke of good luck, the heavens blessed him with a woman who vowed to love him forever. Everything was fine and he was ready to start a family.
"Why…why…why…why…"
He was a man at the peak of his life. Everything was going well for him. Looking at the two women with blood-shot eyes, he could only see them as heinous demons. Clenching his fists, he was ready to grab his spear and die fighting them. Everything was over anyway. Even if he managed to escape, the Fujiwara clan would behead him for letting the emperor die.
As he slowly gathered the will to stand up, he heard a sentence from the red-head that immediately sent him over the edge.
"I take first dibs on the throne."
That entire sentence echoed in his mind and immediately, something in his mind…broke.
"You heartless bastards!!!"
Unable to restrain his anger any longer, blood-red ki gushed out of his pores in droves as he grabbed his spear and charged forward.
"Even if I die, I must slaughter you demons!!!"
As he thrust his spear forward, he was met with a frown from the red-head before he felt something puncture through both of his knees.
"AAAAAAARGH!!!"
Falling down on his face, he released a blood-curdling scream. Two barbed rock needles covered in flames had penetrated his knees, causing him to experience much more pain than normal.
"This guy is so funny nee-san."
Sakura walked passed Wang Chun and directed her gaze across the rest of the soldiers.
Sighing in disappointment, she turned her head towards Chizuki.
"These guys are boring nee-san. Can I kill them?"
Chizuki was about to answer when Wang Chun released a flurry of curses.
"YOU DEMONIC SLUTS! YOUR MOTHERS SHOULD'VE KILLED YOU WHEN YOU WERE BORN! I CURSE YOU TO BURN IN HELL ALONG WITH YOUR FILTHY MASTER- MMMMMMMHHH!!!!!!"
Chizuki had appeared beside him and ripped out his tongue.
"Do what you want with them Sakura. As long as they die."
She turned her head towards Wang Chun who was constantly coughing mouthfuls of blood.
"I will handle this one."
Sakura smiled cheerfully.
"Okay!"
Turning her head towards the rest of the guards, she vanished. Ripping off the head of the one on the far left, she took it and threw it with such force that a loud *BANG!* was heard as it collided with the skull of another guard, resulting in it directly exploding in a fountain of blood.
Admiring her work, Sakura giggled.
"I've always wanted to try that~"
The soldier who was next to the other soldier who's skull exploded immediately knelt to the ground.
"P-please! PLEASE SPARE US! We promise we won't say anything! EVER!"
Sakura appeared behind him and gently placed her hands on his cheeks.
"Sorry. Nee-san said no one must live."
With that, she twisted his neck. Letting the corpse drop to the ground, she made quick work of the rest of the soldiers and servants.
As she dragged one servant who had desperately tried to claw his way through the ice wall, she had cut off his hands and one leg.
Dragging him back while holding to his one good leg, she called out to Chizuki.
"Nee-san! I'm finished. What about you?"
Chizuki was sitting on a chair of ice. She opened her eyes to look at Sakura.
"Take a look for yourself."
Suspended on an ice spear, Chizuki gave a gentle kick that made Wang Chun spin around. Seeing his face, the man Sakura was dragging took one look and instantly died from shock while the Sakura herself gave an awkward smile.
Wang Chun was bleeding from all seven orifices. Looking at how his body was bent backwards to the point that he could lick the area behind the residence of his children, she could already imagine how much pain he had to endure. Remembering how she heard a loud crack before, she associated it with his spine snapping.
Hissing in imaginary pain, Sakura looked at Chizuki with a complicated gaze?
"Did he do something to you in his past life, nee-san?"
Chizuki stood up from her ice chair and buried his body underground as well as all the other bodies.
"He insulted master. He deserved the worst death."
Sakura looked at Wang Chun's corpse again and compared it with the servant next to her who had died from shock.
"Fair enough."
Chizuki simply nodded. After making all the blood in the area sink deep underground, she flew up.
"Let's go meet master."
