Main Protagonist;

Roop (FULL Name: Roopeshwar)

Age: 21 years

Roop is a strong-willed boy with enormous faith. He believes that, in time, good things happen to good people, and deep down he knows his day will come. He does not resent his poor financial status - he is aware of their social and emotional limitations.

Roopeshwar is a young man with curly dark hair, sparkling eyes, and a fair complexion. After his father's salvation, he had to face the challenges of life unaided and wants to look after his mother independently.

Despite this, he maintains hope through his dreams and remains a kind, gentle and sweet person. He has faith that someday his dreams of happiness will come true and his kindness will be repaid. Roop is shown to have a down-to-earth attitude, but he is also a daydreamer.

...

Roop's POV

Mornings. I love mornings. Though the whole night is not enough to calm all my sore muscles and tired body. But I don't have a choice. Working has to be my favorite hobby. It should be number one on my list if you ask me about my top 10 favorite past times. Maybe it will even occupy the top 1 to 5.

I can hear mamma already preparing breakfast in the kitchen. She wakes up extra early every day to cook and prepare for her small rice cake shop attached to the front of our home.

Our house is just small. Enough for the two of us. My mamma had it repaired so she can have a small shop in front. She has a handful of loyal customers who order her rice cakes. Some are for eating but most of them are for reselling. I usually help mamma to deliver rice cakes every morning.

"Mamma! Good morning." I kissed her forehead. It already has a little sign of wrinkles. My mamma sometimes forgot to take care of her because of too much work.

My papa is a saint meditating on some mountain. He left us when he learned that my little sister was sick. I kind of missed him. He left us to connect himself with God. The last time I saw him was during my little sister's funeral.

"Roopeshwar baby! Come here, let's have breakfast before your deliveries." My lovely mamma. Never in my 21 years of existence did she ever say something that will hurt my feelings. She is always sweet and with positive demeanor in life.

Even when my little sister got ill, she said it was just a test of faith and it will not be given to us without a purpose. When my sister died, she said my sister doesn't belong to us but to God alone so she's more than willing to give her back to Him.

She's always like that. She never speaks of anything negative or shows us her weakness. She is always strong and in high spirits. I would be complaining about my sister's death because no one gets sick in the new world. So why did the Almighty Creator give this sorrow to that poor girl?

Just as I'm about to eat, our doorbell rang. "I'll get it. You just continue eating breakfast." Mamma stood up to get the door.

Mamma's homemade food tastes delicious. Well, I think I love mornings after all. While eating, I heard a loud voice outside. I can also hear mamma. Like she's pleading with someone. I got up to check and I saw one of his regular customers, Mr. Arun.

"See, this considerable money will not be sufficient to go to the Grand Godly Concert, it is going to be the biggest celebration and for that, you will also need adequate attire, you cannot go to that celebration wearing old clothes. Also, you don't have enough money in your account to go there, sorry we can't help you, ma'am," Mr. Arun went away after explaining the fundamental matter and our shortcomings.

I can see how mamma's shoulder fell. When she looked on my way, her eyes looked tired and hopeless. I don't want to see her like that. Mamma wanted to go to Almighty's grand concert, it's like a once-in-a-lifetime wish for her, which she could not make till date, due to financial constraints. The cost of going there is very high due to which we have to eliminate our essential needs which is quite impossible.

Yes, it is true that in the new world, humankind does not feel miserable while living, here the rich and the poor are all good souls, so life never feels pathetic to us. But it is a matter of regret that we are not able to fulfill our wishes like the prosperous. After my sisters departed, going to that grand concert was mamma's one last dream that seemed to be coming to an end.

I walk towards my mamma and hug her. "Don't worry mamma, I'll make sure you'll go to that concert."

What a way to start my morning.

After my deliveries, I will cook our lunch. I always have my lunch packed so I won't need to buy one during the break. Everything is on a budget. It's forbidden to lose a cent or I will go home walking.

I am working at a garments shop nearby. I was assigned to the loading and unloading of boxes of clothes and raw materials. I work there from 1 pm to 5 then will head to a temple to narrate stories of gods and goddesses to the kids. That's a routine every day. And I don't have the right to complain. I am grateful that I am working even part-time.

"Did not get enough sleep?" Jack-jack asked, he's my supervisor at the garments shop. He's very nice for a superior.

"I did. It's just that, Mr. Arun enlighten us again this morning, factly, it seemed impossible for us to join that concert," I said while piling small boxes of materials. One would think that why are we insisting on going to a concert instead of living with satisfaction, but only me and my mother know this sorrow. There is nothing good left in our lives now, so the pursuit of happiness is our last hope.

"Oh! That's an unfortunate sweetheart. You need anything Roopeshwar?" Jack-jack sounded concerned. I think it's about my gloomy looks.

"No Jack-jack-shi. I'm okay." I smiled, fake

Working is not easy. I think there's no easy work. But I do believe that everything seems easy when you are in the good company of superiors who understands you not just as a worker, but also as a friend. And in this new world, everyone is like friends.

I ask Jack-jack if I can log out early. I need to meet my best friend Hrithik at 5. He is the son of a Royal Family in Golden Bird. Their company is the 3rd biggest in our country. We became friends during high school and eventually, he went to a prestigious college. I was a full-time scholar because of my excellent academics but when my sister got sick, I stopped school to work and help my mamma financially. I never get back to school after. I only focus on working.

Hrithik offered to help but I refused. He already paid for my sister's operation. Hrithik paying for everything will be a little too much. He also offered me a job in their company. Once again, I refused. I told him that I want to be hired because of my own capabilities and not because I'm best friends with the son's owner. I know that was a bit too much of my pride but I want to prove that I can do things myself.

But sometimes, I need to break down my own motto. I am now waiting for him in a coffee shop. I called him to ask for a good opinion so that I can earn money and fulfill my mamma's wish. With Hrithik, you don't need to ask twice. He will help and is always ready to help whenever I need him. Truly my best friend.

The waitress is already glaring at me from the counter. I don't know if it's because of my handsome looks or because it's already my third glass of water. Hrithik is always late for our meet-ups. This time, he said they just finished an emergency meeting.

Then a black car arrived and parked in front of the coffee shop. I saw the waitress' reaction when she saw the unexpected but very familiar visitor who unloads from the car. Hrithik is well known in our country and is listed as one of the most sought bachelor's. All the females and males are dying to end up with him in bed. I thought, If you only knew that he's my best friend, you would have offered me a whole gallon of water. But since you're rude to me, I will not introduce you to Hrithik.

"Hey! Sorry I'm late." Hrithik smiled as he sat across my seat.

Hrithik Om Roshan

Age: 21

Roop's best friend, the rich desirable bachelor whom everyone wants to marry. An ideal man to date.

The waitress rushed to our table to give us the menu, one for me and one for Hrithik. "I'll take your order, sir."

"Two Caramel Macchiato Venti and two orders of Turkey Sandwich." Then he gave back the menu to the waitress who looks extremely flustered over Hrithik's presence. Hrithik did not even bother to look at her.

Hrithik reached into his pocket and push an envelope into my hand. "Roop, I told you, just work for me. If you don't want in my office, I can place you in a different department. Just swallow your pride. You need it!"

I let out a deep sigh, "Hrithik, just give me some time. I'll try to look for an office job first. If I failed one more time, I will call you."

Hrithik laughed, "I like how you made it sound like you're the one hiring me. Anyway, how's aunt?"

"You know her. She will not show that she's glum. That's why I called you. I know she's so worried. She wanted to go to that concert." I said. Hrithik already called my mother, aunt.

"Okay listen. I heard PTH Conglomerates are looking for an office clerk. No college diploma is needed. Why don't you try submitting your resume there?" Hrithik suggested.

I looked at Hrithik, "You think I'll get accepted there? That's the biggest in Golden Bird."

"What's wrong in trying? Just submit your resume. If they did not call, then call me and I am more than willing to hire you."

Well, that's not bad as an offer. I guess it's time for me to have my resume printed and submit it to PTH as soon as possible.
