Well, this is it. The day I have been dreading. I walk over to what looks like a dentist's chair and sit down. Dr. Quin follows me and begins putting wires all over my body. He places a device on my head that covers my eyes but I'm still able to see slightly.
"What are you feeling right now?" Dr. Quin asks as he fiddles with the machines.
"Scared," I say honestly.
I want to act tough but I just can't. I can see everyone in the room where Dr. Quin and Nelson will be controlling the machines once the procedure starts. Jay is standing as close to the glass as possible. I'm glad I can't see the details of his face. I don't want to see him suffer. This won't be easy for him.
"I wish I had some soothing words for you but I don't. The reality is too harsh." Dr. Quin says.
"I know. I'm alright." I say reassuringly.
