Gerald's mind was tired the next morning, as the conversation had gone late into the night, but he was pleased.
And the leader of the rebellion was willing to meet him in a nearby forest. Marvin would serve as guide. While Gerald had his personal misgivings with Marvin, he was fairly certain that he wouldn't do anything on purpose to harm him at least. (Not while there was something to be gained from him at least)
He finally was ready by the late morning and found himself asking questions of the bartender and him telling the stories of what had happened in the past several months.
"Incredible." The bartender said, his mouth opened. "If this is all true, then you truly are blessed by the gods."
"Maybe so." Gerald replied, surprising himself by his retelling and the number of things that he had been through in so short of a time. "But the gods know I certainly don't feel overly blessed."
