When Gerald finally returned to the inn, he looked more careworn and more determined. The siblings were not with him, and he was furious at something that he never explained to Lydia, or anyone else for that matter (and he never discussed meeting the other Necromancers with either of his wives as well). Lydia was troubled by the man's unease, but it wasn't good news that she had for him either.
"From the looks of things, it looks as though the House of Thorns will be crowned by minimal rights and by the claimed 'right of queens'."

"Blaming doesn't help us now." Lydia retorted. "It's my hope that Dryassiad will be finished with me after this, so I really want to make her proud so that she'll leave me alone."
