When Gerald awoke, night was falling again and only the cold breeze reminded him that he was alive. He slowly rolled over and regretted it, as it put his face directly into the path of the wind. He groaned slightly, which alerted Lyzara who was nearby.
"About time you stupid, ridiculous, ass." She said, moving closer and sitting next to him.
"How long was I out?"
"Just the day. It's getting to be evening now. Your… Rebecca has been up for a while, and we've been treating her wounds as best as we can, but we can't do much for her. Our magic can't do much more than dull the pain and reconnect tissue. She needs a lot more than that on that arm of hers."
"Why didn't you wake me earlier?!" Gerald demanded, moving to get up and falling to the ground again, hard.
