Chapter 135 - The Shortened End

The skeletons worked their wonder as company after entire company surrendered to the besieged city. Gerald rested as little as he could, but he was quickly exhausted. He finally focused solely on meditating and raising new skeletons from the dead but it still only stemmed the tide as many continued to fall. Of the seven hundred that had been there at the beginning of the day, only four hundred remained by the time that Gerald had returned, and he kept up that number at great mental expense to himself. The few of the non-magi that could still wield a spear were either guarding the prisoners or were being rotated out to fight back on the wall, and they were showing their fatigue.
