As Isadora went up the last of the steps, she almost wished that she hadn't. The army in front of her was hardly visible in the rising sun to the side of her, but the torches and watch fires were enormous in scope. (Even with the previous day's events.) As her face paled, Gerald reached an arm around her shoulders and held her loosely. "Don't panic. This is nothing compared to what I've seen…" His eyes seemed to gloss over with memory but he quickly shook it off, as there was enough to keep it occupied here. "Today, I'm hoping that they send over a messenger to announce that the city's besieged. Then we can get the women and children back into the city and attempt to have some level of normalcy during the winter."
