The girls waved goodbye to Gerald as he moved away from the inn to teleport away. Breakfast had been a little awkward for them all, but they had finally begun a conversation as the morning ended and the afternoon began. A small snow flurry had started just as the day turned to afternoon as well. Gerald teleported away, and was gone with a soft smile.
"Now that he's gone…" Isadora said, turning to her best friend. "What about last night?"
"What about it?" Lyzara said, her face blushing quickly.
"Don't give me that, Zara. You still are crazy for him."
Lyzara didn't respond but did look sad at that. After a moment she answered. "He doesn't want me."
"Want may not be the best word." Isadora responded. "But he does care for you."
"And you." Lyzara interrupted, looking down at her shorter friend.
"Not like that, he doesn't." Isadora responded, waiving a dismissive hand.
