Gerald smiled at the two women as they came forward with the basket. He offered them a drink from the cask he was sitting on, and the girls smiled and took him up on it. Soon, they were all reminiscing and joking on a grassy hill.
"I do not understand you at all." Gerald turned to Isadora, who seemed almost uncomfortable at his gaze. "Yesterday, you beat the Geez out of me, but today you're giggling like we were back at the academy." She looked awkward and turned away, her cheeks blushing. "Zara, you got a reason for that?"
The woman smiled, hearing her nickname used by him. "I think it's because she's embarrassed." She giggled, pulling her best friend closer into a soft hug.
"Zara…" Isadora said, her face a little red.
"I honestly didn't expect to see you until tomorrow." Gerald admitted. "And even then, I expected you to make me beg."
"You should." She responded, putting an angry look on her face. "You ditched us, remember?"
