If only he had access to a dedicated training ground from the beginning, where he could continuously practice and experiment with his item skills and combinations, it would have greatly facilitated his progress.
In fact, he could even create the next item set more easily here, where there is no time limit, and test out all of the skills and their various combinations, as opposed to the matches, where he would only have three hours to do so.
