Chapter 10 - chapter 10: Beauty and Chaos

Meanwhile, the convoy had already reached the entrance of Chinatown Street, as the time it took from the moment Chief Reynolds got the information about it to the moment it reached the governor's ears was enough time for them to arrive at their destination.

The sudden appearance of the 'army' of black cars in the bustling and vibrant Chinatown Street was nothing short of astonishing.

Pedestrians, taken aback by the sight of the formidable convoy making its way through the narrow streets, halted in their tracks, and the once lively atmosphere seemed to freeze momentarily as all eyes fixated on the procession.

The people of Chinatown, known for their resilience and tight-knit community, couldn't help but feel a mixture of awe, curiosity, and concern. This was a neighborhood where traditions ran deep, and any unusual occurrence was enough to stir up conversations and speculation among its residents.

As the convoy made its way through the streets, Shopkeepers leaned out from their stores, their eyes filled with curiosity, scanning the convoy with inquisitive gazes.

At the same time, the residents exchanged hushed whispers, some trying to decipher the purpose of this extraordinary display, while some speculated that some kind of dignitary or high-profile celebrities visiting.

''Hey, look at that! what a magnificent convoy !!'' one of the residents exclaimed, wanting to attract the attention of his friend.

"I know, it's so unusual! it might be some high-profile celebrity visiting'' his friend who already saw the convoy, answered.

"Celebrity? I don't think so. Look at those black cars, they're like armored vehicles. This feels serious." Another one chimed in.

''Then, maybe it's some kind of official visit from a foreign dignitary ?" the first one who spoke voiced out his opinion.

"Foreign dignitary? In Chinatown? I doubt it'' another one said in mockery.

….

As this group continued spiculating, another group was also discussing this matter.

"Wow, have you ever seen anything like that? What on earth is going on?" someone said in wonder.

"I have no idea, but it's giving me chills! Those black cars look so intimidating.'' replied a person next to him.

"Do you think it's some kind of secret government operation? It's like a scene from a spy movie!" sounded a voice from behind the duo, making everyone who heard him look at him with strange looks on their faces.

''Does this look secret to you ?'' mocked another person from the side.

''Exactly, look at the luxurious Rolls Royce in the center, this looks more like a show-off'' agreed the second person who spoke earlier.

''Hmmm, have you seen the logo embedded in those cars? I think I saw it somewhere before, but I don't seem to remember'' asked the first person who opened this discussion first, while looking at the back of the convoy which was already far from the group.

''Maybe it's just the car manufacturer's emblem ?'' said the others with uncertainty.

…..

As they continued their discussion, not far from them were two beautiful ladies walking side by side.

One of them was a young girl in her early twenties. dressed in simple attire, adding a touch of beauty to her graceful and hot figure especially with her long blonde hair cascading down her jade-like shoulders like a cascade of golden silk, Her facial features were captivating and exuded a sense of innocence and charm. Her clear, bright blue eyes sparkled with curiosity and wonder as she looked at the convoy of black cars passing in front of her, she slightly moved her red lips saying ''Lian, look! look! so many black cars! ''

Hearing her, Lian looked at her strangely and said ''Why are you so surprised, Luna? haven't you ever seen something like this before ?''

even though, not as beautiful as Luna, who can be considered a country-toppling beauty, she was still at the level of a city-toppling one. She appeared to be between her mid-twenties and late twenties, radiating an air of sophistication and confidence. Her dark wavy hair was neatly pulled back in a chic bun, showcasing her sharp features and elegant neck. She donned a form-fitting, crimson-red dress that accentuated her curves with a subtle touch of allure. Her impeccable sense of style was evident in the way she carried herself, exuding a mix of authority and grace.

These two otherwordly beauties were, respectively, Hu Luna, Hu Xian's sister, and Lian Chen, who is Uncle Chen's daughter.

Despite their different personalities, both Luna and Lian were captivating in their own ways, each radiating a unique charm that made them stand out in the bustling streets of Chinatown. As they walked side by side, they complemented each other, forming a pair that caught the attention of onlookers.

Luna's youthful innocence and exuberance paired with Lian's confident sophistication created an intriguing contrast that drew people's gazes. Their presence added a touch of allure and beauty to the already vibrant streets of Chinatown, making them a topic of discussion among the residents who couldn't help but be confused about whether to focus their gazes on the two exceptionally beautiful ladies or the mysteriously unknown and magnificent convoy of black cars.

''Hmph, of course, I have seen something like this before, don't things like this always happen in movies?'' seeing the strange look on her bestie's face, Luna replied with a playful pout, her curiosity undeterred by Lian's response as She continued to observe the convoy with fascination, her ocean-like blue eyes following the black cars as they passed by.

''Hehe,'' Lian chuckled at Luna's response, her own gaze occasionally shifting between the passing convoy of black cars and Luna's animated expressions.

"Well, I suppose it's not every day we see something like this in real life," Despite her confident demeanor, Lian still, unknowingly, admitted that she too hadn't seen something similar to this in real life.

Hearing her best friend's admission brought a wide smile to Luna's face. She knew her too well, even though she had that look that says 'I know it all', She could still sense that Lian was also intrigued by the extraordinary sight before them.

" Where do you think they are heading to?" as the convoy continued to pass by, Luna's curiosity seemed to grow even more, until she couldn't help but wonder about where such a huge convoy was heading to.

"I don't know,'' hearing her, Lian took another look at the fading back of the convoy that had already passed them by now and said.

''Anyway, let's hurry back home'' she continued while pulling Luna's hand.

''What? Already? But it's only been half an hour since we came out, can't we stay a bit more and have some more fun?'' hearing her bestie and being pulled over made her a little dejected, she couldn't help but ask to stay a little more.

''No, we have to go back, otherwise, your brother will scold you again'' said Lian With a stern look on her face.

''Fine, fine, you win'' Seeing the stern look on her face, Luna huffed while pretending to be disappointed and started walking in the direction of their home which coincidently was the same direction where the convoy was heading.

"You know your brother worries about you, and we don't want him to be angry with us," knowing Luna's mischievous nature all too well, Lian could only chuckle.

hearing Lian mention her brother again made Luna pause for a moment before she pulled her hand and crossed it with Lian's, she chuckled and said, ''Hmm? Speaking of my brother, You keep mentioning him, is it possible that you like him?''.

hearing her teasing remarks made Lian's cheeks blush, slightly losing her always confident demeanor. She playfully pulled her best friend's shoulder and said while trying to hide her embarrassment "Oh, please, don't be ridiculous, He's just like a brother to me, that's all".

noticing these changes in her bestie's face made Luna raise an eyebrow mischievously, not letting the opportunity for some playful banter slip away. "Hmm, are you sure about that?" she said with a knowing smile. "I've seen the way you look at him sometimes".

As Lian's embarrassment grew, her blushed cheeks became even redder, until she couldn't help but say, " Well, um... I mean, he's a nice guy and all, but we've known each other for too long, he's like a brother to me," she stammered, trying to downplay her feelings.

"Oh, come on, Lian! I can see it in your eyes. There's more to it than just friendship" Luna grinned mischievously, sensing her best friend's discomfort, Luna grinned mischievously as she teased, giving Lian's hand a playful squeeze.

Lian couldn't help but laugh nervously. "Okay, fine, maybe I do like him a little" she admitted, feeling her cheeks grow warmer.

''Hehe, then should I start calling you sister-in-law from now on?'' receiving Lian's confession made Luna squeeze Lian's hand tightly while calling her 'sister-in-law' with a chuckle.

Lian rolled her eyes at her, seemingly uncomfortable with Luna's words, yet her wide smile still betrayed her.

She looked like she really liked being called sister-in-law, but she still didn't admit it. ''Okay, stop teasing me already,'' She replied. "Besides, we are already close to home'' she added, not wanting to let this conversation keep heading in this direction.

''Okay, okay, I won't tease you anymore'' Seeing her bestie rolling her eyes at her, and realizing the meaning behind the lines, Luna giggled and raised her hands in defeat.

....

As The two beauties continued their talks with faces full of smiles, they were drawing closer and closer to their home in the Tang residential building, but soon they realized that something was off. they noticed that the closer they got to the Tang residential the more people they found on the road, but this was not the thing that was out of the usual, the strange thing was the look on these people's faces. Their faces displayed looks of fear and shock, some even looked like they were running from the direction of Tang residential.

"What's going on here?" seeing this, Luna whispered to Lian, her voice full of concern while her eyes were scanning the crowd for any clue.

"I don't know, but something doesn't feel right," Lian replied, her voice equally hushed.

''Let's go have a look'' she added.

''Emmm'' Luna nodded in return.

Soon, the two reached the front of the residential building where they saw something that made their hearts jump out of their chests.

''Nooooooo !!!!!'' screamed Luna while falling to her knees.
