"Cedric and Liam will come with me. This will be the end of it," Abby said sternly. She felt so glad that her voice was not trembling, because her hands did.
"Are you defying me now?!" Elder Rose was enraged. This was a humiliation, but Abby had not yet done with her.
"I am the Serafim. The council of elders are the advisors for the Serafim." Abby gritted her teeth, her body was shaking. She couldn't feel her feet and was afraid she would collapse right there and then because of how overwhelmed she was when she finished her words. "I must remind you again that all the decision is in my hand. You don't have any right to tell me what to do, let alone threatening me!"
This must be the first time for Abby to defy the elders openly in the public, in front of so many eyes of the knights.
