"You let her kiss you and then you kissed her in the garden." Jace held his breath when the question left his lips. "Why?"
Hearing the question, Cane was as stoic as ever, he didn't even flinch, nor did he show any emotions.
However, the Beta should have seen this coming, since he knew Cane all too well and an explanation wouldn't come from him easily.
"Have you found the King's spy?" Cane asked, his eyes glinted with seriousness, which left Jace speechless. It was so clear he was dodging the question.
"We found more clues about this person and I think we will only need a few more pieces of evidence that he couldn't avoid before he can be dealt with."
Cane nodded. "Do it quickly." And with that, he turned around and entered the room, closing the door behind him.
