Cane closed his eyes and gulped the water, but when the glass was empty, he lowered his hand and smashed it against the table, as it shattered into sharp shards, cutting his cheek and his skin, until his hand bled from the glass being actually crushed under his tight grip.
"Ah!" Hanna shrieked, she looked mortified to see the Alpha. She looked at his back, trembling. Even his back alone looked so scary, she couldn't imagine his expression right now. "Al- alpha… Miss Iris was just a little kid then… she didn't know any better… I am sure there was nothing between them. They were just friends back then. Miss Iris was happy because no one played with her… Please, Alpha… think clearly. She was only a poor little child who wanted a friend…"
Hanna blabbered, the way she assumed the situation to be was the same as how Redmond was thinking about what was going on upon facing the Alpha's questions and reaction.
